Here are the the pros and cons for your option,

1080ti
pros
-it is easy plug and play
-a little tweaking using after burner with no chance of bricking the gpu
-low wattage (compared to 3x 570)
-future proof as it goes with 11gb

cons
-with a 750$ budget, you can afford to buy only 1pc with limited hashrate thus limiting profitability
-if ever the single gpu fails, your mining stops
-higher value of resale
-you dont have to buy risers

570
pros
-you can buy 3 pcs, 3pcs of 570 has more hashrate than a single 1080ti this making it more profitable
-if a single gpu fails, you can still mine with the other 2

cons
-you have to mod bios with a chance of bricking the gpu
-have to buy risers

That's all I can think of. Maybe I missed something. Hope this helps.

Appreciate your reply and I do agree with everything you wrote.

Yeah, RX 570 are a way to go! Smiley

On ETH:

3x RX 570: With BIOS mod ca 90 Mh/s and around 350W from the wall
1x GTX 1080 Ti: Hashrate 31+ Mh/s and around 250w from the wall

There will be differences with different algos but 3 cards give out so many more hashes than 1 lonely one.

Hi man, do you know any good tutorial to modify bios of RX?

Especially if this is your first time building a rig, go for the RX 570s. You will have much more fun configuring these (and earn more as well).

The 1080ti's or any nvidia cards are simply plug and play while you let afterburner do the overclocking. With AMD RX cards you have the bios mods and you can actually fine tune the voltage of your cards to get the perfect hash/power efficiency ratios. Much more fun and rewarding in the end. Buy a 1080ti when you are running out of PCIE slots.

Yeah I watched lots of YouTube videos setting up 570 & 580, and it is definitely more of a "hands on" approach with AMD.

No one in their right mind mines ETH on gtx 1080 Ti, people obviously buy them for other algos. Single 1080 ti makes ~ $5 a day right now, maybe more if you know which coins to mine. Three 570s will do up to $7 a day on ETN.

No, if 1080ti was a choice it would be other alts and not ETH. 570s would be mining ETH

Is that number before or after card OC? I looked this comparison on whattomine and ETH profit is currently slightly better on 3x570. Also this 3 cards combined are cheaper than 1080ti

You can fine tune voltage for 1080 Ti just the same.

3* rx 570 are likely to ROI a lot faster. If you don't have many rigs and cards yet, then definitely go with "smaller" cards like 570s or gtx 1060s. It's only when you have multiple rigs all filled with 7-8+ cards each that going for higher-end GPUs starts to make sense.

Yeah, this will be a new rig that I plan on expanding over time. I am more on the NVIDIA side, but at the moment 570 is a better priced than 1060

When I built my 2 Ethereum rigs everyone was saying that buying the 1080 was a waste because the price difference between the 1070 GTX and the 1080ti was huge when comparing the hashrates.  If it's between 1080ti and 570's then I'd say go for the 570's.

What did you end up buying?

Hello,

I will be  setting up my new rig and GPU budget is $750. At the moment I am trying to decide between 3x Asus 570 4GB or single Aorus 1080 ti 11GB.

I am curious about your experiences especially if you have this 2 GPU's in your rigs at the moment.

Cheers!
