the 'package delivery' scam is not new and is not a big deal

the issues with it are that the guy knocking on the door to demand a fee can be recognised, surveilled by CCTV, licence plate recognition systems and such..  and has to live within the area of the victim to keep travel costs down so that the fuel/time to get to the victim does not outweigh the 'fee' thats demanded.

for instance asking for anything over $50 is a big red flag.
after all would you pay over $50 for delivery of a Dell desktop computer.. nope.
so these 'package scams' are usually smaller amounts

usually its local drug addicts that know of a person who has a bit of spare cash laying around at home.
think about it. if you have to go through a lengthy process of organising it and want only $50 or less. you would have to already know the victim and be in proximity to have already done some re-con work to bait the victim.
so most cases its just enough to get high on

you usually find out its some drug addicts distant relative that fooled their relative/friend into it because some personal information the addict knows which was provided to make it seem like its actually a real thing.

this  type of scam is not some large international remote scam. scamming people out of $100's-$1000's per victim its usually a relative for $20... amount that dont kick up  fuss legally and make the scammer think its ok to do it because its not a life changing amount.. and due to how risky/stupid the method of victimisation is. its usually drug related and desperation

Love scam. I wonder how people still fall for that. I have this friend of mine who doesn't believe in anyone he meets online. This is because he know the kind of scam that goes on online today. Not just with this new scheme; as new technologies come up, scammers advance. My advice to everyone is that you should not trust anyone who you meet online. Never trust them!

i have met a quite number of them online. even on telegram disgusting themselves  as girls. they tempt to ask you for funds or introduce you into a scam platform where you deposit money and get a payback with a certain percentage. it's nolonger new. everyone needs to be careful with whom you chat online. most are fake people looking for people to scam.

Reminds me of that Kelly Smith episode from Dr. Phil Cheesy

This is a pretty obvious scam scheme and unless you just cannot think it thoroughly and find out by yourself that it all sounds like a scam, you can't fall for it.

Be serious - you're going to hand some stranger your money to receive some money. It makes no sense, and why after all would you even pick up something a complete stranger sends to your porch? Anything could be inside, why would you bother risking to get linked to some shady activity?

Sending some stranger money to receive a random package is just too silly imo. But apparently some people really do send dozens/hundreds of thousands for what they believe to be a bag full of cash or jewelry.

I've heard same thing with my relatives, they've been promised to receive package from a friend using social sites, good thing that they've verified first before paying as the so-called carrier is not legit from their place. Not new anymore and it's needs to be more wiser to avoid being victimized.
It is the only way to get away from this scammers we should always check if it is true before trusting them or handing out some payments.
We should be wise enough to avoid being scammed in the future.
Scammers are being clever so we should always know how to protect our money and check if it is just a scam or not.

Love scam this has been around for so long and for me this is the worst of all scam.
Just imagine the feeling of the victim being betrayed by someone they trust and provably loved.
The despair from frustration of losing their money and being played.
Stress and other negative feelings this might mentally break them.

Being heart broken is too much for us, And some also takes too much time to recover from it,
I couldn't explain how hard would this be for the Victim losing their money with their trust and love.
This is why we should always be updated of all the scam technique that could be used to us so we won't fall victim and also share the information to save others too.

this is not new scam scheme because deception tricks like that might have a lot been used by the scammers for deceiving the victims and I understand how victims feel after being betrayed. should be don't never be too trusting in an application by asking for personal data because the scammers easily perform the action in various ways to fool the victims.

There's always the foodie call, another form of scam whereby the recipient only meets the person for food or worse, some business opportunity.

This is still the same kind of fraud as the earlier one you mentioned, nothing has changed. It involves making friends on the internet and chatting them with ulterior motive. This kind of friendship is risky because as days progress, the innocent and gullible person starts developing feelings for real friendship and can fall for anything the other wicked person says.
But on the other hand, apart from friendship scam, the real reason people will be scammed is because of greed. A greedy person might want to outsmart the other person and maybe get hook first, or , a greedy person does not see something wrong in abnormalities and so would not see the trap just layer in between  kilometres while they keep stretching to get something kept in miles and thereby, falls on the ditch... Grin Roll Eyes. More like a rat trying hard to get some fish while the trap is just before where the fish is.

I think dating apps scam are old but this kind of scam scheme still works for some people.
Some would try to gain your trust and ask for money and some would send it out of nowhere maybe because they love the person or they are easily fooled by it,
But the latest one that I have known is that the scammer would ask for their victims personal information and such thing then they would tell them that they would send some package with a money on it,
Then after a few days a random stranger would call about the package and ask for some huge amount of payment to settle and deliver the package.
So for those who have some chat mates from other country make sure that there is really a package before paying anything.
