It was answered yesterday, you can read the several replies that I got here.

The thickening of the border when selected is due to Google Chrome upgrade, not everybody have it but I think all of us will have it soon.

Sorry I wasn't able to lock this thread after knowing the cause. I'll  take that. I'm locking it now.

Thank you guys!

I don't understand how this new black box has become such a big issue. Why does it matter, how is the user experience any different now when it is there? Am I missing something Huh

LoL  Cheesy I tried to read all of your posts, then experimented on the Google Chrome browser I was using, but the truth is that I couldn't notice any difference here  Roll Eyes The entry box looks like normal, light blue and thin, not bigger than your description  Cheesy Still trying to understand the change you are describing  Cheesy

I was just about to reply something on different section, but I decided not to do it coz there is something in the reply box that caught my attention but I'm confuse though coz this is the first time I've seen this.

Have you guys notice the highlighted borders when you try to reply? It is thick in black color and I was wondering if it is just me who sees it.

But I think this was deliberately done to emphasize the area where we selected isn't it?

It's cool and helping though.

EDIT

All the type box is the same!

Im also getting the Blackbox line in my PC using the google chrome, but I'm not getting the black one when using my android phone.

I thought it was an update in the forum but I guess it's not.

@Twentyonepaylots

If you are using the newest Chrome version you should see that new black frame on all sites where you need to enter your logins or enter text in a form.
Here is a screenshot of a site I use where it is also visible.

Maybe this is the reason since I'm also using the new chrome version.

It probably has to do with how browsers handle box fields, I'm quite surprised tho on how much attention this thing got lol

The problem is using chrome. It’s impossible not to use at times but I’d switch to Firefox or DuckDuck if you don’t want google stealing all your shit and getting tracked like crazy. Duckduck works just as well for the forum, may have to type “bitcoint” to pull up the site vs just “b”, but small price to pay.

Using Google Chrome isn't a problem for me because my personal computer and my trade computer are different. It looks like Google Chrome has updated. However, this problem continues only on Bitcointalk.

Ah, smart. I mean don’t get me wrong, chromes search engine is so incredibly superior it makes everything else almost seem like AOL 1.0 , so it’s a necessary evil at times.

(Tested this out on chrome just now and not getting the same. FYI )

It just highlights whenever you're in that box. It could also depend on the zoom ratio on your screen. If we are all 100%, it would look the same but it would be different for people who use 200% or another kind of device like a mobile phone probably.

Indeed. I think this isn't based on the CSS of the forum but on how the browsers defaults the style. I use Vivaldy browser yet everything looks normal (blue highlight is, I think,  the default style of the forum when textboxes are on focus). In most cases, all browsers have their default styling when it comes to simple pages like the forum.

In example:
You mean that cute orange box? I love it actually

Edit: mobile, chrome + UC Browser (pissed me with its ads, otherwise not bad)

This is probably not related to the zoom ratio or the forum because the Opera Browser looks like as usual. The main problem here is Google Chrome, and as an alternative, I would recommend the Opera browser I am currently using, as it offers a free VPN (if something is free, the customer is you, remember that this can harm your privacy) and crypto wallet option.

i think this is too off-topic in this thread. We're focusing about how styling differs from other's browsers and platform, and not which is a better browser.

Yes, you may be right, but I wanted to give some advice because we talked about this in our local forum and we could not find a solution. This is a Google Chrome related issue and there are no settings to fix it. We also tried to return Google Chrome to default settings, nothing changed. As a short-term solution, a different browser can be used because Opera does not have a problem like this. I hope I was able to express myself.

I thought that the black frame is new update in the forum but I found out that it is because of the update of google chrome . When you are going to type something, the type box will be highlighted by black, when I log-in in Facebook; that's when I found out that it is the new update of Chrome and it is not the update of this Forum. I think it is only applicable in the web version because when I log-in through smartphone, there is still no black frame in type box.

I am very uncomfortable with this.

distracting frame around text area

Do you see that distracting frame, which is four times thicker than before? It wasn't like this.

It's a new feature in Chrome browser after the upgrade to version 83.
It has nothing to do with the forum.
Wait what? I thought it was with the forum itself coz I see nothing on my other websites. I mean it's not the same with the other type box, like searching in youtube its border is glowing in blue when you select it.

I see a same black border in other websites too.
Guess I need to check it out myself. Thanks for letting me know.

Do you mind having a screenshot about it? Sometimes there's a warning color in red, not sure for bold black.

It seems both the image and the site is inaccessible.

I know this is not that big of a deal but I appreciate it  Cheesy
Idk about that, mine is okay, maybe some addon/plugin works.
