People whinged and whined like buthhurt babies and requested the same thing when ranks and even the merit system was first introduced, and things calmed down after a few weeks.
...
Now it took much less time, yesterday Meta was just similar like it was before the implementation of the Jr. merit change...
I've also mentioned to move all merit related topics into a new thread, in order to prevent Meta from flooding with newbie topics, but it's over now, so this topic is also lockable, maybe OP should lock it now...

yes, there is a need for such kind of subforum in which people like me who lost their positions of jr. member can post for merits and this forum can be use as it was used for other issues before.

People whinged and whined like buthhurt babies and requested the same thing when ranks and even the merit system was first introduced, and things calmed down after a few weeks. The same thing will happen here and they'll need a while to calm down from their temper tantrums and dry their eyes, but after that and their rage has subsided the threads about merit will become less and less. I think the info and rules should be shown to Newbies upon sign up though like I proposed with the Newbie Welcome message. I think that will help and stop a lot of needless questions and threads asking the same stuff when the info can already be found. People just need to be directed to it.

It was asked before;
Theymos,

Since the merit system, a lot of people are creating excellent how-to guides on this bitcoin forum.

All these guides are being lost as they age.

It would be nice to create a meta subforum where moderators could move how-to guides and other useful information.

I'm not sure if you're the second one.

I guess meta section should also be plagued by "subforum" topic in order for theymos to implement it. Even bitcoin discussion and altcoin discussion sections are plagued by people asking about merits.

Even in economics section has one -> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5034843

I'm pretty sure this idea was kicked around in the months following the merit systems original launch.

Unfortunately if these people can't be bothered to find the right sub forum now or post all similar concerns in a thread already running; I don't think a new sub forum would help.

Ideally it also won't be needed in the coming months as this traffic should drop off.

How about a new subforum only for Merit questions? The recent Newbie restrictions are causing a high number of new topics about Merit in Meta and also in Beginners & Help. And I guess the Merit issue will stay for a while, we already had this before, it only got worse right now. And in addition we have very good topics of Merit stats which can have their own place from now on.  Smiley

I would appreciate it if it's possible to create a new subforum only for Merit and make this as a subforum of Meta but also link it in Beginners and Help. I think it's important if we do so to have this link, because both, Meta and Beginners & Help, are boards Newbies use to post most of Merit related new topics.

And maybe this will clean up Meta and Beginners & Help a little bit.
