We need some web developers, software developers, a security/infrastructure guy, and some graphic designers.  PM me and we can start a google doc and work out a plan.  Cheesy

I just build websites but that other guy can help with the Programming. So we all can work together Smiley

I like the enthusiasm, and I am all for teamwork.  I have done web design, and I have done some actual development (Java, C, etc.)  I am a very basic amateur in the dev and design side of things, but I know enough to see that this is something I would stay well away from without a heap of money, existing infrastructure already serving a similar purpose, mastery of the appropriate skillset, or preferably some combination of all three.

There are also major legal hurdles, assuming that you are in the US or dealing with US customers or both.  For example.

If the two of you do decide to work together, at least plan out very seriously what the jobs of each are going to be.  "Partnerships" often end in tears, even when both sides are capable and competent but in different areas - never mind if one or more parties are incapable, incompetent, or working under wildly different illusions about the work and potential profit involved.  As the ongoing saga with DHS and MtGox shows, just the regulatory hurdles can be kind of a big deal when you`re working with money - and "value transfer systems" are still money in some sense.  The legal treatment of Bitcoin is still evolving.

I wish you guys luck if you do decide to do this - but I hope you establish a genuine, well-considered plan before you get started - and that should include what to do if you decide to dissolve the partnership.

So here is the deal. 9 year software developer with a great deal of experience here. And what you are asking for you will not be able to maintain. The type of site you are very basically describing requires a good deal of infrastructure, maintenance and security which the last two will be beyond you if you are just a web developer. What is your goal for if you take a boom in data throughput and modules for the site exhaust all resources? How are you prepared to handle the possible break in?
No one with the skills need to cobble together a site like this would offer up their skills (which is 95% of your idea) for a partnership. Even to take a comprehensive consultation with you I would have to charge because what you are bringing is not even a full idea, but more of just saying "I want to make a website. Nuf said"

What skills, qualities or other assets are you bringing to the table?

This is going to be a totally new website which will allow users to stay on the same site to do everything they need to do in one site.  I have graphic design experience and already have a domain.  All I need to do is set it up and get it running! Cheesy
