not sure if buying BTCs for 5000$ would be better investment.
If you buy the hardware and bitcoin's value should crash, you still have the hardware Wink

yes i agree to this, but you should still invest in btc like $200 to $500 if you can afford it.

hey everyone.. Im new to all of this I've been doing some research on bitcoin and i wanna start mining asap i have around $5000 to invest..  im going to have a cpu custom built by one of the local computer stores in my area.. i just need to know what i should tell them spec wise can somebody please help me thanks
lol did you notice its always the new guys to spend a couple of grand like me

As a tipp:

Read the wiki pages first, there are comparisons of GPUs (how much hashing power they deliver) and also some backgrounds about bitcoin (or: why every ~10 days (currently) you will get ~40% less income (currently)).
