Well you are done with the hard part since you already bought the coins that you want, now you just have to make sure that your coins are kept in secure wallets and just wait for the next bull run that is coming.
Some friendly advice, when you see the prices going down, just log out, don't look at the charts, it can be easy to get scared into panic selling so it is better to just stay away during such times.

Long-term investment is a very clear choice.
Diversified investment is also right. I think you are great. For the novice, it is a good strategy to ensure the safety of the coin and the security of the funds.

Thanx, a variety of answers! Reality is that as a 24/7 live in carer don’t have the option of keep checking the rates and swapping, exchanging and cashing anyway. Fingers crossed ithe long haul will work out. As said only really just learning. Kicking myself for not putting tha £100 in bitcoin when they were £3. Nearly done it but unfortunately didn’t go ahead with it thinking it would be a waste of time ....

and in a year or two when bitcoin reaches $100,000 you will be kicking yourself again for not investing in bitcoin today and instead spreading your little money among useless altcoins some of which will not be even around by then Tongue

I have a bit of bitcoin but only on very low wage so difficult for me

Hi. Have bought up a load of alt coins..the pretty 'safe' ones or as safe as can be. I have stored them in my ledger and was wondering whether its worth them just sitting there for the long haul. Do you think this is a wise move? I am hoping one of them will take off. I have invested in:

Ripple
Litecoin
Ripple
Etherium
Neo
Eos
Stella
Bitcoin cash
Cordano

Just need advice thanx

hi there well it seems like you are doing good for yourself you put money in high cap coins with big trading volumes so yeah you should be fine in the long haul its very wise actually you will profit it just might not be as much as investing in mid or lower cap coins i think small cap coins outperform in a bull market

It is important to me that you keep updated to those altcoins you have invested with. This process makes your long term investment safe and profitable. Once you know that it has a rough road or the token could end then instead of holding it until the day it happens, you have already sold your and enjoyed at least maximum profit on it.

i am having a hard time understanding the rational behind doing something like this! OP claims to be new to all of this including the market and everything else about it but then he goes ahead and says he has bought 9 different altcoins (ripple twice LOL).

i mean who in his right mind would jump in a new market that he doesn't understand and starts buying this many things. it is like going in a stock market (or better yet penny stocks) and start buying 10 different stocks without even knowing what the companies are behind those shares you are buying!!!

You welcome to the club of holders. Your choice of altcoins are perfect considering the fact that they are in top 15. I believe  they can give you better returns 2x - 5x easily.  Stay glued and follow the market.
Are you sure about that? a short term returm from 2x - 5x just like a dream when you are investing in the coin that has a lot of market capitalization. I will never believe that. the only possible thing to gain 2 - 5 times return easily through only use altcoin which is having a little marketcap.

It all depends on your preferences. If you want relative safety then this is the right choice from top coins. But if you look from the point of view of profit, I do not think that these coins will be able to make a big profit, because they are already expensive. There are more interesting coins that are in the top 100, but the risk is certainly greater.

You have done a good investment with very viable coins. The future is good for cryptocurrency and even where an individual does not understand or have deep knowledge about is, they can still invest, Holding ding in the wallet is just enough.

I'm happy to see that a newbie wants to make his portfolio into long term, this is almost rare today. A newbie that just came in to the market wanted to make things quickly and see their profits overnight.

But, yeah there's but. You haven't bought bitcoin? I know that's quite expensive for someone that just came in but you have to include it and as much as possible give the biggest portion to it.

I've seen some coins on your portfolio that I don't really like, well anyway I hope that you can endure the pain if we aren't out of the bear yet.

Yes, I think long-term holding is a very correct thing. Short-term high-frequency trading can't get huge profits. If you want to use small funds to get big profits, you only have to wait for the correct actual suit through long-term holding. The price is for sale, otherwise it is difficult

All I know is that I know nothing.
the only advice i can give you is that long term investment in altcoins is a waste of time. the only cryptocurrency that is worth holding in the long run is bitcoin.
for example if you use of those portfolio manager websites and put in all these altcoins you are now bag holding with the amount of money you invested in them but use the date and time of 1-1.5 year ago and then compare it with if you went 100% in bitcoin, you can see that bitcoin would  have given you a LOT more profit.

I think you have really done a wise thing and you will be a pretty millionaire soon, when the time comes to harvest what you have planted. I'm hoping to make such investments like you have, but i'm restricted by funds, and I must say, you have really done a good one for yourself. Just make sure your coins are safely kept and you do not share certain information with others. You are on the right track.

There is nothing wrong that there are some potentially good coins to ride in the future, at such a low price now, then you have to be extra patient in the next few years, perhaps to be more in analyzing some altcoins that have not yet got into your list can not suggest because that's all the money you have to be more confident in yourself, of course by trading you will earn passive income in the next few days, a little wary because the market is unpredictable in fluctuating prices then your little heart beat fast , good luck that you plan and hopefully can grow by participating in this forum.

Thanks
Welcome to the forum.

I think you made a good start especially since you included some of the originals
like bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum and some solid projects with quite a following.

There are some who would say that long term holding is not necessarily the best
choice, rather better to trade on the movements of the markets. I like the long
term outlook so maybe a mixture of both?

Be careful at first if you want to trade the markets.

Thanks. So much to learn about this industry!
