Unfortunately all the altcoins have dropped in price following the recent drop in BTC price so it doesn't make sense to mine pretty much any altcoin (especially since you're electricity sensitive).

Since you have higher electric rates BTC mining is also out of the question, for the time being anyways, so consider purchasing coin now instead.

I've mined in the past, but I don't understand how it works.

I have £200 and want to know what the best BTC software I can get is.

Also, I'm in the UK, please consider electric bills. How much would I make per month?

I also have an i5 3 GhZ computer, quad core, 8 gb ram and a decent graphics chip.

The best thing you can mine with your i5 is CPU coin. But none is profitable right now so you should just forget about mining (you will be paying more electricity).
