at current coin prices these most likely will not make money

unless you have very cheap power
a good enough psu to run one
internet already hooked up.

one will burn from 300 to 400 watts non stop depends on your speed settings. it will cost 1 dollar a day to run at fast setting and 10 cents a kwatt for power. when I say 10 cents a kwatt I mean full power cost which includes delivery cost.,this machine earns 1.42 usd a day minus power = 42 cents a day. but if you have a psu and buy one for 100 bucks you won't lose much 100 bucks tops. and it may make money.

On a side note is the R-box @ 100-110ghs acceptable as an entry level miner or will I struggle to make an impact

Sorry I've not got back to you Zich, Ive taken delivery of the R-box and I now have it running.(I Think)

I have had it running for about half an hour and I am getting 115gh/15s running at 320mhz. Obviously it will take a while to acru any thing but like I said I think its working. I will post again if I have any problems buy thank you for your help once again.

Thanks Zich I think I'll go with the laptop to start purely because I got the Rpi as a media player and I'm not totally convinced I know how to run/install programs on it yet.

Welcome to bitcoin community

1. This is twisted question. To test your wallet, simply ask your friends to send some coin to your wallet.
2. If you own unused Rpi, then using Rpi is the best choice.
3. Any pool is fine. Personally i am prefer pps pool(if there is any left).
4. This is a matter of hardware. If you are using laptop, wifi is ok. But not for Rpi, Rpi had some issue with interrupt on usb port.

Thank you I was thinking of wireless just because I am planning on putting the system in my loft but I can use network plugs if wired is best.

Hi Guys, I've been flicking through some of the posts on here today trying to understand as much as I can. I have a few questions If you don't mind answering for me that will hopefully help me settle down and get on with my soon to be delivered Rockminer R-box 2.

Question 1. I have set up my Wallets both online and offline and I'm looking to join Slush's pool but is there a miner that will allow me to use my
laptop cpu/gpu to test i have got my addresses working ok before the R-box is delivered.

Question 2. I have a spare laptop to use but do you think I would be better off using my Raspberry pi. ( I'm not to worried about power usage but it's clear the Pi would mean less heat and extra things running.

Question 3. Is there a better suited pool for me to mine using the R-box or will it be sufficient within that Pool.

question 4. Finally a simple one, once set up with everything needed to mine is it preferable to use a wired connection or is wireless just as good once the blockchain has been downloaded.

Thanks for any answers you can give, I hope to become an active member both here and the Mining scene.
