Mining scrypt-jane coin often requires more trial and error with settings than normal scrypt coin if you want better performance. You may also need to change the settings every time the N change.
The simplest thing to try is to post in the coins' official threads and ask what others are using and pay attention to when N will change again.

so I have to post here before I can do anything?
I just started mining recently. I started solo mining gold pressed latinum on my 3ghz dual core and got nothing. I now have one hd7950 and I have a few bars from the past several days. I have had trouble with settings, had been doing around 370khash/s, but now im doing like 440-480. Now that I have mined a little on UFC and KED pools I think the problem may be the fact that GPL is scrypt jane.
So mining scrypt jane starting out I think is a bad choice, maybe it would be best to mine a regular scrypt coin while still learning?
UFC and KED are very simple, I had no problems the past couple days(using GUIminer). I had been getting some -6blahbalh error and my gpu shutting down while mining GPL, not sure if it was on my end or the pool or what. if anyone knows what the error is please send me a PM!
