I just visited blockchain.com explorer to check if my transaction git confirmed or not and noticed the update.
It's good that they added the sat/vB field especially for those, like me, who use segwit addresses. However, I don't think there is a real need for the "Fee per weight unit" as it's nothing else but the "Fee per vbyte" devided by 4.
Also, I noticed that for some transactions the fee per vbyte shows as Not Available and not sure what the problem is with those transactions!

It seems that BCH support began to diminish because they were very strict in everything related to SegWit and I did not think that they would undertake any update that would make the possibility of paying lower fees.
They are still far from the competition, but the distinguished Blockchain name will bring them many views, including ads, so I do not expect them to make more updates.

The next step would be to improve their wallet, at least it should not be as buggy as it is today.
There isn't much competition for that to push them to improve though. Newbie users who look for a web wallet either use a custodial one like Coinbase or use blockchain.com, otherwise everyone else uses desktop and phone wallets and when they want security they go for hardware wallets. Web wallets don't really have any benefits.
They have also been malicious towards bitcoin ever since 2017 and SegWit softfork which is why their updates in both their wallet and explorer have been too late to come.

It's nice that they updated that certain aspect of the transaction. Kinda irks me to see that blockchain.com, being one of the first in space, fails to spearhead such changes and develop it one step further than those that come after it. Blockchair and mempool.space offers much more in terms of transaction details up to the last bit. Though I understand that not everyone is in it for the geek stats and all, there are still some enthusiasts among the community that would like to see every important aspect of the transaction, hence why the choose mempool.space and blockchair.

It's a nice update. A quality of life for some of us but not really on par with what other block explorers have already made.

Good to hear this update from them, at least there's an update even though their wallet is very buggy at this time.  The good feature that Blockchain.com has and didn't have in the mempoool space or in blockchair.com is that you can able to watch at least more than 50 upcoming transactions or unconfirmed transactions in the Bitcoin network.

Hopefully, they will pay attention to their wallet and have an update too.  Also regarding the fee that you can able to reduce the fee like Electrum, it might newbies will still using them, but meh, there's no reason I will use their wallet.

For some reason, I still don't enjoy using Blockchain explorer. It feels so congested and disorganised for me. Blockchair and mempool.space on the other hand are much more organized and have extra features such as transaction priority for unconfirmed transactions.

It will be good to also update their wallet, it is one of the wallets I can never use for now, it support only legacy addresses, one of the reasons many bitcoiners are still using legacy address when there are segwit addreses to be used. About their explorer, I find it easy to use, but I really like the new improvement, but I use more of blockchair.com because it still support more features like RBF.

Actually it's great as it is: it makes it easier to convince newbies use something else, preferably a wallet they install and that has (amongst other features) also RBF.
We tell for years that web wallets are inherently unsafe, but people don't care. Lower fees (SegWit) and RBF are better "selling points"  Smiley

Competition clearly pushed them to change. I doubt they'd bother changing it if there are no other services like blockchair or mempool.space.

The next step would be to improve their wallet, at least it should not be as buggy as it is today.

but it will be good for the site to also indicate if a transaction is flagged to support RBF.

I still prefer blockchair.com to be the best though because it has all I needed including showing transactions that support RBF or not.

I've used blockchain.com for years too and it was hard to move forward. Somehow blockchain.com still remains at least one step behind the best blockchain explorers.
But somehow I find blockchair, although one of the best, not easy to read, not .. nice.
I am still hesitating between blockchair and mempool.space, but mempool.space seems to be winning, since it doesn't round the fee to integer.

The other update that I have seen with them is that they have sentences that says how much you've got in USD for your address and you don't have to click the USD button anymore.
It is a good update that they have done but I hope their next upgrade would be their service as many of the forum members knew how ugly their service is.

At last that blockchain.com explorer updated from the old transaction fee representation to the modern one. Not that the explorer is not representing transaction in weight before but it was only represented in weight unit which people are not making use of to calculate their transaction fee. People were making use of sat/byte before until segwit were introduced that now makes people to calculate their fee in sat/vbyte. Now the explorer is representing transactions using vbyte now.

What I still like about this is that the vbyte can also be checked along but it will be good for the site to also indicate if a transaction is flagged to support RBF.

I still prefer blockchair.com to be the best though because it has all I needed including showing transactions that support RBF or not.
