Organisation's management and domain registrant may not be the same person, even if the organization is legit.

Just saying.

this is very suspicious site

I saw this site powerbtc.com in a PR this morning. They listed a U.S address

The site is a scam. I have sent 0.05 to try them out. But it has been almost 2 days but nothing was received in my Paypal.

This is a good lesson learnt. I was tempted by greed. Either way, a small amount of coins lost for a lesson.

From the headlines it seems like another hyip ponzi scheme. But when some one mentioned that they were waiting for paypal to be paid out to them that just seems like a double fail. Roll Eyes

And now youve learnt something and hopefully you will apply it... All sites promising returns with the little or no risk at all have in most cases turn out to be scam...

A simple PowerBTC review on google would have solved this. For me any flag whatsoever from any site after my review search is a no no and nothing will make me go for it.

The receiving address that was generated and presented to you to send your funds to is not unique. I looked through blockchain for that address and realised it is a recycled address. How could the site knows that you are the one who deposited the funds?
This your discovery alone is enough for you to know that the site is a scam and they often track your ip address that is why your btc deposit address will never be changed, definitely it is been operated by one person.

Interesting theory. What's the point of them tracking IP address?

This site claims to allow BTC sellers to profit 10% above the current market price by reselling the Bitcoins to buyers in middle east. You simply need either a bank account, WU or Paypal. The site claims no registration is required and it is anonymous.

You simply click on let's say Paypal button, a receiving address will pop up and you need to key in your receiving Paypal address.

I have not tried this service yet.

I found one potential problem with the site:

(1) The receiving address that was generated and presented to you to send your funds to is not unique. I looked through blockchain for that address and realised it is a recycled address. How could the site knows that you are the one who deposited the funds?

And the reason for you for never trying their service and this is it.

I do not trust badbitcoins.org because they listed MiningSweden as legitimate. The last I checked, they did not list MiningSweden as a bad site despite M.S has stopped payments.
Hemmmm... seems like badbitcoin is bad from your sentences, with slowly a good site is turn up into a shady site.. but for the power btc is a real scam site

CryptoTalk.Org - Get Paid for every Post!
There is no reason to trust what they said as first thing which alarms something is fishy is 10% above market rate and also that anonymous word. No on can provide bitcoin to paypal service because paypal strickly prohibits bitcoin related transactions.

However i have seen them in several bitcoin and finanace related sites even in yahoo finance. So are those paid ads/article/press release or do they really verify the legitimacy of the company before posting any article?  Huh

US address could be easily generated by fakeaddressgenerator, and having US address in their WHOIS data or being inserted in their website doesn't mean it's really registered in US! and most of HYIP and PONZI even listing their address in 1st tier country in order to gain more trust so people could be interested in joining the site and say "well it's from 1st world country, people there are so trusted" what a BS

Thank you for the good advice. And I thought scammers are often using U.K Register House or similar.

I initially believe 10% above market price is acceptable since the receiving end is Paypal and you are being paid for the risk.

The recycled address set alarm bells ringing.
