I've never been asked to handle escrow for a cryptocurrency exchange and I have no idea why when it's objectively the easiest kind of transaction to handle with escrow. They're not messy at all and you really don't need a proper purchase agreement. I don't charge a fee and that particular kind of transaction would take maybe three minutes total of my time, so wouldn't feel very bad at all if no tip were included.

Sure, onesies twosies isn't a big deal. Try doing a dozen+ at the same time Tongue
I guess it'd really suck to have a day full of 500 million worthless-coin for .0001LTC trades.

If you think that anything is different or weird about a person your trading with just cancel it. Don't take that risk.

Not saying that you did but just telling the community. Most people probably/hopefully know this.

Yeah but is hard to come into a new community with my 2 day account and say " I wont go first ". Taken the fact that i have allmost 2 years on my gold Reddit account and when new users approached me with this i totally ignored them if they wanted me to go first, suspecting if they cant trust my user with over 500+ Trades they must be a scammer. So going  to that logic he seemed to have 100+ posts and no negative points at that time i'd say you gotta start somewhere not? Well apparently this forum doesn't ban/restrict the obvious scammer even if proof is provided, users are left on their own.

But hey everyday is a new story to tell so now i know.

Thanks for the heads up. I flagged him with negative trust, though I suspect he'll be back under a different account.

Well tbh im not a new trader, i was trading on reddit ffor quite some time until i decided to go into more alt cryptos. (Doge and BTC). Long story short i've done ~500 trades on rediit and never got scammed, i guess that place got me the reputation in people. So i was selling my Doge and XHD and a guy (https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/coins4life-256328) pm'ed me waning he wants to buy 0.1 BTC worth for Dogecoins - 58,000 coins. I say sure provide me with (skype,fb,or reddit ) he said he was 65 and didn't use them ( that should have been my first clue), than i suggested escrow, he said there was no reason for such a small amount (and it really is i did 95% of my trades on reddit w/o escrow) considering he was a longer user than me with 100+ posts im like sure why not. I sent him the 29K (deal was half > full>other half) and than he started claiming that he didn't receive any coins on his account (also provided him with dogechain) and he went offline with my coins.

I know it was stupid from me and i shouldn't have gone first anyhow but i just think that this forum has to take scammers/scamming more seriously as is a haven for them.

Feel fee to bash me or call me stupid. Regards
