thanks for the warning, but something like this can just be a scam. a newbie may fall for it, but someone who has been dealing with crypto for a while should know that this can only be a scam. if you should pay something first to get more money, you should always be careful.

Thanks for the information, people like that should not be part of this community however that form of scam has been here for a very long time, I remember seeing it some years ago and it is probably older than that, I cannot understand how anyone could fall for it but if scammers are still using that tactic to get money then it means that it must work.

They tried to scam me as well, they used a new method. They send me for example a message on Telegram claiming that they have 5 BTC frozen in a so called, exchange. and that they can't withdraw these funds, and if I help them they will pay me. It's to steal my email address and password, when I create an account in this exchange.

Actually, this isn't new at all. In fact, very common and very old. It's quite crazy but people fall for it even today. Who in the world gives money away for nothing? And who would ask for 1 ETH to give away more? Of course it's a scam, so if you fall for it, you only have yourself to blame.

Nothing is free in this world. Really. Nothing. So when you see free, understand the risks, understand the conditions.

I absolutely agree with the friend. That's an old trick. They even do the same thing by imitating the celebrities.

I think they're trying to trick people into the lowest level. The real danger is that you can click on a link to steal your money or infiltrate your computer. You just have to be smart about what's left of it.

this type of scam the newbies will fall for this, it's not new a strategy for scammers, you can see a lot in social medias that they are doing giveaways scam, in order to receive your reward(tokens or 1 ETH) you must send 0.01 - 0.1 ETH first, I hate scammers.

It's too simple. So, I think people will know it's a scam when they see someone asking for their money to be sent to that person. I'm sure no one was fooled by such a childish game.

Even this scheme is very old some people still fall victims over this. People should be educated regarding these scams nowadays, I think some people are reckless sometimes maybe due to they lack research or informations even the veterans still can become a victim if the scam schemes are well crafted. So the best advice is to investigate and stay vigilant.

It is weird, nobody in crypto community believes in this shit. It used to work in early january when there was a hype around crypto and everybody tried to cheat this way.
Moreover it has just appeared and people haven't meet it before.

No, you were wrong.
I found a lot of people got scammed before on twitter especially, and they did exactly same just like what OP posted above. Even some of them were trying to impersonate Elon Musk using a verified Twitter account to make it looks real.
People will fall for this trick if they are in desperate need of money

We should think first before doing their request. Why such team will give us 1 ETH in exchange for 0.1 ETH? and you will give them first your 0.1 ETH. This is a simple strategy but many had been a victim with this scammers.

The thing I don't understand why people fall for things like this, do they think Crypto is a father Christmas land. Why would someone be giving out free $120 to people even Vitalik is not doing so. I think people get scammed because they are greedy and looking for free money but forget that there is nothing free out there, someone must pay the price

Scammers always use the greed of people as bait to fool trusting people. It is not necessary to pay attention to calls to send a small amount of cryptocurrency to a certain address, in order to get more profit. This is almost always a hoax. Also, one should not sometimes react to such statements on behalf of the ICO teams, and if it does indeed come from the ICO teams, one should leave such an ICO, since it is almost certainly fraud.

Yeah this style of scaming is somehow already old and wont work anymore except for those still newbie in cryptocurrency. But still thanks for the warning post for newbies to be aware.
With the way they ask for eth is somehow too demanding and too overprice also, unlike the one I saw using the google airdrop form which mostly stating; “Please send 0.01 eth to this address and received a * quantity of token afterwards or a selfrdrop in term but in the end they are just shitcoins.

Simple, ,
Do not send any amount of crypto especially ethereum just like in the first post from this thread if you don't want to invest in any project my friend,,,
Yes its so simple yet many newbies are still fall on this trap, this is not a new way to scam its old style but still many investors are losing money from this scam scheme. We should learn more about cryptocurrency before we put money into this market. A lot of greedy people that wants to make easy money are in this market, and we don't know the exact strategy they are using because its improving every single day.

Don't put any money into things that you are not sure, don't look for an easy money try to work harder and you will earn more profit that you deserve. Save yourself from the scammers, don't entertain any suspicious activities coming from an unknown sender.

This is nothing new, the same trick trick occurs on many social networks.  The common points of scammers are always to make an invitation, an attractive reward and ask you to send money to a certain address. You will encounter the most fraudulent cases on the Telegram, in the form of pretending to be celebrities, the big trading floor as Binance

I think i've seen this kind of method to scam people and i was the one that witnessed it though i did not fall for their traps. I know it is a scam obviously because they demand to pay first in order for you to get the price. Who's stupid enough to trust that kind of scheme when obviously you can't get anything from them because i did research them first before doing so.

Same old same old. This should have been effective when there was alot of hype in airdrops and giveaways in late last year and earlier this year for new ones in the space. That one should be posted in those groups with referrals spamming so that it can trigger a network effect and could lure any new ones out there.

Thanks for posting about this. Newbies should be aware that there are a lot of people in crypto that will try to scam others for easy money. This is not new in crypto, don't be greedy and try to save your money. If you want to earn money in crypto, work for it, earn it. No one will give you easy money in crypto, so stay away from this kind of schemes.

Money is never easy to find and you should never believe in such news. I was once a fake Elon Musk private message to me and asked me to send him 1BTC to receive 10 BTC. There will not be any work so easy to receive such money. Let's see if it's an experience for you.

A random guy  sent me .1BTC before because he liked my post.  I've seen a lot of millionaires/billionaires hand out money on forums and such.  Just because you have never seen it happen doesn't mean that it doesn't.  That being said, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is but I would keep an open mind, you never know what rich people will do when they are bored.

Just like everyone here that are saying that this is not a new scamming method, This is really very common in the community but there are still many people getting scammed by this kind of method it is very easy for scammers to put their scheme and I think that this is very serious for newbies that are bounty hunters that really want and believe that there is a fast way in earning money with cryptocurrency, Lets don't blame each other all we need is a solution and I think we can surely prevent it by spreading the word that cryptocurrency is not a way you can get fast earnings in an instant and if there are people giving free coins or crypto to you they must think that there is a suspicious thing involved with it.

Thank you for raising awareness mostly for newbies but this is not a new gimmick. So this scheme is also rotating to reddit, the origin of this scam is on twitter.

Have you noticed the name of Vitalik Buterin on twitter? his name is "Vitalik Non-giver of Ether" why's that? because of this scam and don't ever send any amount just to join these airdrops or campaigns. They are suppose to send it for free and even those who are asking for gas fee.

This is a common trick/scam in this space and isn't entirely new. Like I'll always say, only the greedy will fall for those kind of scams. There's no free lunch in Freetown! People need to know, these people asking you to send certain amount of ETH to receive a higher amount aren't father Christmas nor a charity organization. You almost need to work for all you earn in this space and that's the truth. Those who fall for such scams are just greedy and they should themselves for it.

I guess that is the old method that still works for the scammers because I heard that many people still getting scam by that method. My friend was telling me about the different site but with the same way and unfortunately, he loses his ethereum after he was sending the ethereum. I think he doesn't read in other websites about this scam, so he loses his ethereum. I told him that there is no easy money in any of industry and if there is one method that is offered to him about making money easy, that is a lie and don't trust it.

This kind of scam exist a long time ago. Last year you could see thoses kind of messages on Twitter. They just changed one letters on the name of the poster to make it appear like it is a message from the person making a post. They made it on the Twitter of exchanges and maybe some other people. Don't believe in giveaway if you need to send something. You won't receive anything.

They also have accomplices who like the post so it is at the top of the post. And the accomplices also say that they really received the coins. But all is fake.
