Honestly at first I am aiming to get merit because I think it is very important as a member in this forum but the longer I am staying in this forum I realize its not all about merit or to be rank up its all about what can I get in this forum and what can I contribute. The hell of those merit and higher rank.I am enjoying what I am doing here like posting questions and answering questions in every sections. The longer I stay here the more I get some knowledge about bitcoin. So dont try to question the merit system and make your own rules because only the higher officials here in this organization had the rights to do it.Until now I had no merit and I accepted it wholeheartedly because I know myself that I am not capable to make good quality post yet as of now because Im still in a process of learning. So instead of blabbering about merit system I rather take time to read important things here in this forum so that one day I can make good quality post and thats the time I can earn merit.

I call this kind of posts sophisticated spam and put authors on ignore by default.
Indeed they are, and I've been doing likewise.  It's funny how none of these members ever even knew Meta existed before it became just a place to talk about merit, and now they think they've caught on to something by incessantly posting here, with complaints about merit or suggestions about earning it and the like.

Oh LOL.. How do you judge or review other people's  posts and give them merits when you have no merits earned by yourself???
I said much the same thing in another thread.  If you have yet to earn any merit (and there are still plenty of people for which that is still true), how are you qualified to give tips on how to do it?  Yes, I suppose you could look and see what posts are earning them, but if you can't make those kinds of posts yourself, your tips are just empty chatter.

If I read "We must make a quality post and increase knowledge, blah blah blah" I'm going to vomit all over bitcointalk.  This will not be pretty.

Oh LOL.. How do you judge or review other people's  posts and give them merits when you have no merits earned by yourself??? You still have the 10 merits you initially got free.
Getting merits by starting a merit distribution thread is no longer valid. Nice try.

...you will be put into Ignore List ...
I've done that...polluting threads are really annoying.
I call this kind of posts sophisticated spam and put authors on ignore by default. For me, this is perfidious behavior and you deserve to be ignored.

As we all know that when the "merit" system comes, a lot of new to forum struggle to increase their rank.
For me merit system is good because we can rate the quality of the post. But its hard to get a merit in discussion even though you post something beneficial to someone  as we cant review everybody's post.
So i think its good to have reward merit for those who really contribute to the forum.
Like getting reward merit for every 10 verified reports about copypasters, spammers and people who do unnecessary or unwanted post.
Or like giving a 1 merit in every 10 post that youve done.
But the post should be only counted as valid if:
 - You input a minimum characters like (70 and above) as to avoid spammer
 - if your post is not in the section which discusses about something not related to bitcoins (off-topic, politics and economy, bounty reports etc.)
 - You give suggestions on what can help to improve the forum and its verified as true.

As we do this most member will surely report all those spammer and person who post something unrelated to the topic because they could gain a merit.
Also because of this improve and make our forum clean.

Its only my opinion, if you think its not necessary you can remove it.
Thanks everyone and God bless.

Here is how to abuse this rule. Create 10 or more accounts to abuse this and then make copied posts with those accounts. Then report those posts using your main profile and get merits for reporting this. Repeat it as many times you want to increase merits on your main profile. Do you have any solution to tackle this ?

**-snip-

If I were you mate forget that merit for a while, just continue posting a quality post or just reply to a genuine post that you can share an idea or helpful for them. You do not know that someone has liked and given you a single smerit to your post without knowing you.
Just enjoy the forum if you see there are many sections here that you can explore and share ideas that can be meritable. Roll Eyes

Forget that merit mate at least you are aware of the new rule in the forum, that's it. Grin

Cointrade - Bringing crypto trading to the people!

I couldn't understand your OP. It read like the ramblings of a schizophrenic frustrated about his crypto. Bear market, crazy pills = META POSTS.

Anyway, the purpose of posting and participating in bitcointalk is not to earn little green italics over your posts that say "Merit." It's to talk about crypto and have fun with others and help yourself grow and learn to do things, like mining and trading.

Merits are just side benefits that you get once in a while. They're not the goal of posting on this forum. You should view merits are fun quirks that you get when someone takes a liking to what you've said. Simple as that.

I've reviewed and seen merit threads, and I'm starting to think people should just rarely give out merits. I think people really should stop giving merits or just give them out once in a blue moon. It would make all the people who are here just to spam go away. If it's too hard to get merits, the people who are trying just to rank really fast will leave, and then all the cool people who are here just to chill will be left.

You have not explained any new way of getting Merits and its your useless attempt to start a new thread to get attention and merit  Sad

Remember, the only way to earn merit is enjoy your posts writing without caring about merits and bounties.

I believe that you will be put into Ignore List of some high ranked users in the forum, and the topic has low probability to receive merits.
Good luck, merit beggar.

I've done that - these polluting threads are really annoying.

Edited: Adding someone into Ignore list is one of fastest solution, which save lots of time (which I can use for more valuable things, such as reading more informative topics, more books, articles, and of course entertainment time for my kids).
