Well I'm not exactly hyped about any such plans, especially after the "You will own nothing and you will be happy quip". It's not like I don't like the idea that everyone have access everything, I just don't trust the self-anointed "saviors".

As for electricity, would be hard to share this across globally unless we get superconductors that work at room temperature or a close enough range.

Considering that they are slowly release "UFO" evidence over the years, that would probably be the last step to basically force everyone into a global union. I don't think simply having a pandemic, war or food shortage is enough. These 3 still give a reason for nation-states to avoid joining others. In future there will be no nations only unions usa union north american union soviet union and eu union.
Also food shortage will create centralized food distribution center from where all the food supply and movement of food will be monitored and controlled.

Its very rare to find one independent country.
Countries will be classified likely departments rather then reconized by their nation.
Each department will have own purpose and mainly people of there will be occupied with their occupation related activities and less if not at all other type of opportunities to limit options of outside of department activities so if country is meant to be for agriculture then less likely you will see other type of things there to not occupy "residents of department" minds with unnesseray things yes there will be some activities and options but less then other departments.
Military food storages and resots for vacation.
Some countries will closed borders and no access to internet and other restrictions so u dont have ideas of other locations or how people might do in other countries
Thats how it all moves but 2022 u can decide wich department you go in
Its not all bad it just mean you dont much of freedom or opportunities and everything will be more controlled.
