Yeah this was most likely a dumb attept to get sign-ups on their exchange. Most likely a fake giveaway aswell as the fake coins for sign-up they promised.
Does anyone know if we only need to register an account or do we need to complete any KYC or any trade in order to participate in the competition?
So far there is no required a KYC procudure to join to qualified as participant, so you just need to register. but unfortunately OP didnt able to cooperative reply those questions, Im not sure these giveaway were held as real contest / giveaway.

Why the prediction should be email you should publicly post it here or on the facebook so that it will be fair to those who join and participate.
Honestly, what I see here is the way how you promote the website and get it free signals from your audience for free if you allowed someone to send privately in email you can make a fake account and telling that he/she won the game.
Much better all pm or emails are ignore and only public prediction on the comments should be counts as valid prediction. So that we know you are fair.
