Wonder what the difference in opinion is between this judge and the FL judge who ruled the opposite recently.

Judges have also been known to ask rape victims why they where unable to keep their legs closed!
So if we are looking to them to dictate the flow of society,we are doomed to live lives under the thumb of whatever power is in control.
The idea that we need or want to get bitcoin into the limelight to make more people use it,seems at odds with the move away from government with bitcoin leading the way.

Well it's a good news for bitcoin user because we need more acceptance by government. Because if government of developed Barton accept bitcoin then government of developing country will also follow their path and if they don't accept then also we can show them that when government of developed country accept bitcoin then why the government of developing country can't accept.

On September 19 U.S. Federal Judge Alison Nathan in Manhattan declared Bitcoin is money. The judgment follows the recent Florida ruling in which the Judge decided the opposite — that Bitcoin is not money. The decisions in both states show U.S. officials don’t see eye to eye on classifiying cryptocurrency.

The fact that it is even starting to come up is a great thing. I don't expect everyone
to come around right away. Like the above poster said many issues they don't see
eye to eye on but its a good step to even be in the conversation.

Cryptocurrency is not the only subject that officials don't see eye to eye on if that's the point of this thread.

Abortion.
Same sex marriage.
Gun control.
Countless other topics...
