@Wiwo, why are you opening a new thread when we already have a topic that deals with the same thing?

A quick reminder from Eric Adams, mayor of the City of New York.

Furthermore, do you think NY will become a bit more Bitcoin-friendly just because the mayor will allegedly receive his salary in BTC and then turn it into fiat? Unless you think that with the same BTC he will be able to buy bread, milk or pay for parking...

Eric Adams is a tech guy. Yes he was a police officer before but when he left the NYPD and became Brooklyn Borough president he really pushed for tech to come into Brooklyn. He supported them and helped them move there. So it's not like it's coming out of nowhere. He sees it as a business growth opportunity for NYC and it really looks like he is going to support BTC / crypto and a lot of other tech things for NYC.

Although i don't think it's going to make BTC hit $250000 I do see it as an overall positive for BTC.

his income is about $260k a year =~$22k a month
so by month 3 he might have a whole 1-2btc to his name(depending on price ups-downs)

if all mayors done this. thats maybe 1400 mayors or 1.4k-2.8k btc over the next 3 months.
yet an exchange daily volume is over these 3-month potential buys. so no direct impact to bitcoins price by the mayors income

however the social drama emotion of speculation that many cities "might" see crypto acceptance increase. may cause some sway in the price

Eric Adams being the 110th Mayor of the United Kingdom, who also was a state senator is a man of the people. He is known for making drastic decisions and standing by them.
His interest in Bitcoin is a big plus Bitcoin. His statement about buying the dip I think is a reason Bitcoin will find a base soon.

For his announcement of New York City as the new center of bitcoin and Blockchain development is something that should be more real or practical than said.
As political as this statement is viewed, one basic thing Eric stated clearly was his desire to make positive moves as regard Bitcoin, his desire to take advantage of bitcoin's volatile nature is one thing and the second is his will to get a salary in Bitcoin. His desire to make New York blockchain heaven now that Eric is now the mayor is another institutional future adoption of Bitcoin and the rest of other cryptocurrencies.

This news already been talked 2 months ago, look at his tweet.

He only want to get paid when he become mayor, this means if he doesn't become a mayor he wouldn't want to get paid in Bitcoin. This is just his strategy to get voted by Bitcoin enthusiasts, in the end it's just for politic not his own desire. If he really want to get paid in Bitcoin, he can just buy Bitcoin with his paychecks... there's nothing different.

He is the elected mayor already in NY which he said to buy BTC with his salary. He also said earlier that he has not gotten his pay yet as NY mayor. AS the Maimi Mayor also calls out all the mayors in the country to join the crypto compact in buying BTC. It's kinda pact of mayors to buy BTC and convert all cities to adopt BTC.

But it could be true today that politicians will be using Bitcoin to get votes from the people. Though unconventional, BTC is a political tool today.
