TBF though, the possibility of Trump being an economic disaster is still a possibility.  Somehow he's convinced republicans to sign off on adding about $3 trillion to the national debt, the trade war with China is still up in the air and one misstep with with Iran or NK could cost us trillions more.  The way he's running the country is eerily similar to the way he's run many of his business ventures: super aggressive negotiations, protect your 'brand' more than your actual investments, litigate (apply pressure in unrelated ways) often, and don't be afraid of going bankrupt.

Well, there's still a few months left in his term so yeah, anything is still possible. I don't know the details but I watched somewhere that the deal with China requires China buying additional goods from America. NK seem quiet for now so it seems it's Iran that could be a problem. It's volatile, they went from hating their government due to subsidy cuts, to hating America more due to the assassination and to hating their government again more due to the deaths from shooting down that plane.

Didn't he predict some bad stuff happening (economically) if Trump wins the election which failed to happen?

Yeah.

From early 2017:

Quote
"The disaster for America and the world has so many aspects that the economic ramifications are way down my list of things to fear. Still, I guess people want an answer: If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.

Under any circumstances, putting an irresponsible, ignorant man who takes his advice from all the wrong people in charge of the nation with the world's most important economy would be very bad news. What makes it especially bad right now, however, is the fundamentally fragile state much of the world is still in. ...

Now comes the mother of all adverse effects -- and what it brings with it is a regime that will be ignorant of economic policy and hostile to any effort to make it work. ...

So we are very probably looking at a global recession, with no end in sight. I suppose we could get lucky somehow. But on economics, as on everything else, a terrible thing has just happened."

Anytime someone makes such a confident prediction about something so complicated I have a hard time taking it seriously.  Even if they have a nobel prize.

Well, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. The real question is, why would someone try to frame him up for this? Coz I believe it's possible to get arrested for simple possession of child porn. IIRC that's what happened to Jared from Subway.

We really do not care.
Krugman is so bad economist and I wonder why he has become so popular. It is okay that he stated this in public but there is no point in having this news on the front page.

It might have something to do with winning the nobel prize.

Front page of Mediate, cernovich.com, zerohedge, breitbart, theblaze, daiilycaller and dedicated thread on bitcointalk...must be a slow news week.

You're just confirming that MSM bias exists.
Besides that, what difference does it make who reports on it?
The only source you need is the tweet itself.

That's pretty bad because it sounds guilty as you know what. It's pretty bad because if he's telling the truth most people are not going to believe him. And even if they do, a few will still believe you downloaded such porn. And if you're found innocent without out a shadow of a doubt, you will still be associated with the whole mess.

Oh come on, there's a looming war and more hardship in 2020, let people have some fun.  Grin

Little known fact, they call him TwitchySeal because every time some one has ideas from sources he doesn't agree with he has a compulsive uncontrollable facial twitch until he can confirm his bias again.

LOLsers that's mean.  Tongue

I think the media was slow to this news, maybe it's really inconsequential even if it's troubling that a critic of the president is suddenly being "framed" for child porn?  Grin I checked again and the only addition to Fox and NYT were Ars Technica and Business Insider.

I don't know the guy so I looked him up. I wouldn't be surprised now if this is true.

Funny though I ran the name through Google and top results are all Fox while in DuckDuckGoGo it's just some sites like MIT's. It seems MSM is not worried about some academic/journalist getting hacked and not writing about it.
