Hi guys.
I just join this platform not quiet long. Just like to know how btt rate/rank it users. Recently I come across account that's newbie and the same Jr Member, how's that?
My thought was that ranking is directly proportional to the time and Number of quality posts.

To get a better rank you need to focus on 3 things: Posts, Activity and Merits. That's what you need to grow.

Follow the link BitMaxz sends and you will understand what to do to grow fast, but take it easy because to get the max rank could take close to 3 years.
You are just partially right, you don't need only the posts, activity and merits, my advice for the op is to learn more about the technology(read as much as you can from the forum) and then start to make valuable posts, we are already sick of spammers here and it will not help anybody if you only reiterate on what others said, it's just super annoying. You can start with this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-read-before-posting-1689727, made by Lauda.Good luck!

Why everybody is still repeating same answer here? I think the first response already answers OP concern and if still not enough, the second and third should be suffice already. I suggest you locked this thread already, the locked button is on the lower left next to move topic. Thank you, so this thread wouldn't be spammed with same answers and response anymore.

Yes, the same answer with a different style. But I think they are not entirely wrong, given that the OP is asking things that should be known by someone who has many activities like him. Hopefully the OP can immediately understand because there are already many answers with full explanations.

Also, this should come to the attention of the OP at a later date, he must do a search before making a post, he must ascertain whether the question he will ask has existed or not, because I have seen many posts with the exactly question like this.

You'll receive merit when a forum user click the +merit button near the quote button on the right side. Merit is one of the requirements in ranking up. Activity points and merit is what you need. To get merits is to post constructive post or helpful post and to earn activity points is to post. You'll be able to earn 14 activity points per 2 weeks.

Hi dude, I think this is more than enough to answer your question!

In addition to activity, everyone now has a merit score, and you need both a certain activity level and a certain merit score in order to reach higher member ranks. The required scores are:

RankRequired activityRequired merit
Brand new00
Newbie10
Jr Member301
Member6010
Full Member120100
Sr. Member240250
Hero Member480500
LegendaryRandom in the range 775-10301000

[...]

And a little advice for you: Don't be lazy to read! Try to take the time to read or join the conversation about the rules of the forum, it will be useful for you. Don't be greedy by only doing bounty tasks.

With all due respect, I'm not patronizing you, but I just want to invite you together to be a nice user in this forum.

To become a Junior member, you need to have atleast 1 merit and the number of activities should be 30, which you already have.

I would like to correct your statement here, spending time to post quality posts Activities+Merits Rank in BTT.

Ranking system totally change, in order to rank up you need to have a merits. In order to do that you should make useful posts/thread that can contribute to bitcointalk forum, delete all your bounty links. Let's try to look up your previous posts. I see that most of your activity are all bounty links.

If you are here in the forum just joining bounty and claiming rewards. Your account is considered as a toxic here in the forum and the worst thing is even getting single merit you won't achieve. Find good topics or even create a topic that will contribute to the entire forum.
Here's my tip, on this board (Beginners & Help) eventually have merit giveaways to newbies have a concrete post on their profile, so better to watch it and be active on the forum. Good luck to bud.

The old ranking system requires activities to rank up for each rank, and what you had to do is making enough posts (that consequently results in enough activities to rank up), but with the merit system, merits are become the more important thing and the main barriers to pass through before ranking up.
Now, you must pass through both activities (that is easy) and merit requirements.

Activities and post-numbers required are there:
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Activity is updated every hour.

The new membergroup limits work like this: (Edit: Obsolete, do not use)
GroupRequirement
Brand New0 posts
Newbie(none)
Jr. Memberactivity: 30
Memberactivity: 60
Full Memberactivity: 120
Sr. Memberactivity: 240
Hero Memberactivity: 480
Legendaryoccurs randomly between 775 and 1030 activity

I'm not 100% sure that the membergroups work correctly. Tell me if you see any bugs.
The merit requirements posted above by the others.

My thought was that ranking is directly proportional to the time and Number of quality posts.
Your thoughts aren't wrong by the way, time can mean activity, and that's baesd on how often you post, if you do not post at all, you'll not rank up. Quality posts gets merits, so this also covers that part, merits are given to quality posts and those merits are what enables you to rank up. So on your thoughts, If you spend your time on the forum making quality posts then you'll rank up.

Don't forget that you also need to require merits to be able to rank up. Like your account you still a newbie but you already get 56 activity and 123 posts you should be jr.member right?

The reason your account does not rank up it's because the forum added the new merit system. You can be rank-up to jr. member if you receive 1 merit.

Read more about the merit from here "Merit & new rank requirements"
