Make sure to actually make sure you know enough before you actually commit into buying bitcoin. A lot of people buy in just because of the hype, and got wrecked in the end. Literally do research on EVERYTHING. Especially the exchange you're planning on using in the future. If you can't find information on something you're researching on, ask here.
First rule of investing: do not invest in something you don't understand.
