I think OP lives in a area with cheap electricity for $100 to be profitable. It has been said that the most powerful laptop will not earn you a dime in profit, you will need an S9 now that the halving has increased mining difficulty.

S9s are pricey, it will take you months to break even. (note: not years).

for mining bitcoins, you will need asic gears for certain. PC's are not an option for bitcoin mining profitably any more.

We really need to know OP's electricity rate. So hard to tell people what do on asic's without it at this point, just ROI is all over the board. One thing to keep in mind even if you achieve the 50 to 100 USD per month that over time it goes down. We can only speculate how fast it will happen, but it will go down.

On GPU you still go into it spending a decent amount. It takes a decent GPU and most likely a open air system that you make. You just don't see near as many miners using cases as it is so much easier to cool down with open air. I do mine both Ether with GPU's and BTC with asic's. I can say the asic's are kinda dummy proof at this point. I find putting together a nice system with 5-6 card's to take more technical skill, and more tinkering most likely. And yes that is just at start of GPU system this extra effort for the most part.

Then you don't understand how bitcoin mining works. You cannot mine bitcoin just with computers any more no matter how powerful they are. You need to buy an ASIC miner of some sort to mine bitcoin which you then connect to your lan. The computers are only good to help you configure the asic miners and then they do nothing in the mining process any more.

Hi,

I am totally new to Bitcoing mining. I understand how it works.

I have 3 computers PC at home- A fixed workstation, (powerful) and 2 laptops

I just want to get from 50 to 100 US dollars/month by mining. Wil be enough for me.Do you think this is realistic and feasable with my hardware means?

I need advice on how to start and which software to use.
