Spend what you can viably afford on bitcoin, don’t bother with shitty alts, sure you might get lucky & make money with alts but equally, just as likely you’ll lose money.

Stick to the real deal & buy BTC.

Hold onto your BTC & wait for the guaranteed profits to rain in during the next epic bull surge.
Advising someone to only buy bitcoin on some occasion is not good business wise because is the same thing as putting all your eggs in one basket and if there is a missed steps all the eggs is gone. It is always advisable for one to always diversify his or her investment capital to avoid high risk on your investment capital.
I do not know how many times I have heard that diversifying your investments in this market is a good idea and that is simply not true, what is the point of investing in most altcoins when those coins are nothing but copies of the original? Very few have any innovative ideas that are worth anything, and while I understand the desire to invest in those coins because they can give greater profits than bitcoin you are now relying on your luck instead on your skill and as an investor that is unacceptable.

If you're going to be putting a good chunk of money into crypto, I would stick with bitcoin for the majority of it.  If you've got to buy altcoins, pick some of the biggies like LTC, ETH, and the like and don't stray from that.  Once you start buying shitcoins you're just gambling.  Nothing particularly wrong with that, but you don't want to be gambling with your life's savings.
+1 to this!

It isnt bad to consider some alts but if we do tend to go with some alts then its much more worthy to look upon those are on top option than considering those small cap coins where you do hope
to earn 1XXX back with your money. Those good old days wont easily happen as of today so its better not to expect nor hope to this probability.Going all in specially putting all of your savings
to any investment is always been risky option not only talks on crypto but also on other real-life investment as well.

What alts are considerable good compared to Bitcoin ? Can't name any tbh. Crypto is highly risky already, why put a rollercoaster on top of a rollercoaster ?
It is very easy to know why someone would do something like this, because of their greed, despite the incredible profits that we know bitcoin can give in a very short amount of time people are still unhappy with their profits and they prefer to take the risk of investing in altcoins even when they know that there is a high chance that they will never see their money again, they believe that nothing bad will ever happen to them and that they will always take the right decisions and we know that is not true.

I don't know what you bought that bitcoin for, but those years might have been a good time to sell.  Hopefully you didn't lose too much money.

Be careful about going all-in on crypto in general, whether it's bitcoin, altcoins, or a mix of both--unless you're very young.  If you're investing for the future, I'd be looking at the stock market as well.  You can shield a lot of stock market profits from taxes as well, depending on what country you're in.  There are a lot of tax-deferred options out there, and stocks can give you one thing bitcoin can't: income.

If you're going to be putting a good chunk of money into crypto, I would stick with bitcoin for the majority of it.  If you've got to buy altcoins, pick some of the biggies like LTC, ETH, and the like and don't stray from that.  Once you start buying shitcoins you're just gambling.  Nothing particularly wrong with that, but you don't want to be gambling with your life's savings.

your option is better to use half for bitcoin and half for spread in the form of altcoin ,I'm sure your decision return to crypto is the right choice and you will definitely already gained experience in 2017
If you are semi-professional trader this kind of trading/investing is applicable to you. Separating the amount of investment in bitcoin and in other cryptocurrency is bright idea and it seems many traders also this strategy. It seems that the OP already have background on how the market works so basically he can now make the right decision if he going to split his investment.

What do you think people? go all in btc or diversify a little on alts?

Thanks in advance
Wherever they invest it is still end up in a good result as long you know where do you invest. Splitting your money is a good idea but still, sticking in investing in bitcoin is best way to earn huge profit.

Maybe selling goods i dont use i can buy a little more..
Ive spent some of that crypto in collectibles which maybe i sell here

just a suggestion it's better you go take ETH which is currently cheap, but you should wait until early december to try to buy because now the market is crowded with panic, if you only have about $ 200 or $ 300 better take altcoin top coinmarketcap 2 up to 10, you should not buy bitcoin because it is difficult to benefit you because you use a little capital you should buy cheap Altcoin like Dogecoin ETH EOS and TRX, good luck but I'm not responsible about the risk so this is just a suggestion

keep holding in BTC. if you buy with your personal money, don't put it on altcoin. fixed on BTC. but if you feel not good, good altcoin options to hold are ETH, BNB, ADA, NEO. in my opinion this is the best. use your funds wisely, so you don't lose more. because I believe, Bitcoin will give you something big after you graduate from school.

Choosing bitcoin as the one of investment only will be great, especially if he doesn't have skills to trade. But he can start to learn about trading and not just holding bitcoin only because he will have a chance to make more money from trading. Yes, the altcoin will be a good trade only if he has skills in trading. Otherwise, he will not make a profit even if he has a lot of altcoins as the investment. But it is better to hold bitcoin than altcoin because we never know when the altcoin can back to the higher price. And comparing to bitcoin, we can see that bitcoin price still changes for the price, and although the bitcoin price is up and down, the price will be increased in the long term. But the altcoin will have difficult to increase if bitcoin is not moving to the higher price.

I think that newbies should know one thing, crypto-currencies are open for everyone! You can come here and learn about crypto-
currencies. After some time you can even start earning some crypto-currencies, or you can choose to invest some of your own money,
you can do both if you want.
Crypto-community is full with possibilities, I advise everyone to come and check what's happening around. They can develop their
skills and maybe earn more money eventually.
In all that time you will meet with different projects, with the time you will learn how to spot some good coin and how to avoid bad coins.

The timing was the wrong decision. You can take the same decision when market revises and get good return. Most traders and investors had been quiet since last year, the strategy is more of patient wait. Most Altcoins enthusiast left their coin for bitcoin before the bullrun and at some point after the bullrun they move their portfolio to fiat. You will need advice to decide to hold some potential altcoins with you ATM or sell to hold bitcoin

Will join with others who have said this to say, that you should never ever put a bigger or even considerable part of your fund in altcoins. Though you might want to try the first top coins in coin market but don't put all your hopes in it.
Whether you are going all in Bitcoin or a smaller part in altcoins. Do that with money you are willing to forgo.
It’s good to buy some Bitcoin for newbies but it’s not smart planning to invest your entire savings into it. We should invest the amount we have added with us so that at a low price we will be able to control our emotions and will not get affected as much we can get effected by investing all. Just buy some coins and keep holding it for the long term it will make a profit for you.

if I will diversify investment. I think it is more profitable to diversify. because when bitcoin goes down we can sell altcoins that have risen. yes even though most of altcoin also follows the bitcoin movement. but there are some crypto currencies that don't follow bitcoin prices.
but of course my main investment is bitcoin. 80% of my portfolio is bitcoin and the rest are altcoins like ethereum, litecoin and stellar.
Diversifying your investment doesn't seem like the best idea in this market, I know that cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin can move at an incredible fast rate but even if that is true most altcoins had been performing really badly against bitcoin for years, and this is true even for some of the most popular coins and when you understand that then it is preferable to only hold bitcoin especially if you are a newbie, once you learn more about the markets and you have years of experience then you may diversify and get some altcoins.

All investment should really be treated like that where we should only use those amounts that we can afford to lose.Diversifying isnt that bad though
and you cant completely stop people not to consider alts knowing that these coins do have smaller amounts and when bull run happens it can potentially make enourmous
returns unlike if they do purely go all in with btc thats why it do always have that consideration for those coins to be an option.

in my opinion the current altcoin market condition is still bad and no one knows when the altcoin market will be green again. you better use all of your money to buy bitcoin because it's safer and bitcoin won't crash. although at the moment the value of bitcoin is down I'm sure it can go up again we just need to be patient waiting for bitcoin to pump again. buying altcoin now is very risky because most altcoins are also following the bitcoin price movements.

I advice you to buy btc and also altcoins like ether and xrp and some altcoins there are many altcoins that you can buy for now and good to hold it for a long term investment. As they say don't put your egg in one basket so that you can avoid losing your capital. In that situation you can buy and hold btc and some altcoins. But its your choice because you are the one can decide it if you want only bitcoin.
Many people say the saying does not put your eggs in one basket and the saying applies to profitability when one coin is unprofitable and it will be better if it benefits all.
and bitcoin is the right choice for you to have and some altcoins like Erherum and Litecoin which in my opinion will provide good returns and make long-term investment methods to avoid worries when the market is bad.

Trading isn't a bad option for me mate. The only thing that I've to look to this situation is your altcoins selection for trade and (maybe) you're not choosing potential altcoins in the market. It can be a big loss to our end if we badly choose altcoins. But the worst thing happens to you is that you bring it entirely to altcoins which are supposed to make share it to bitcoin. Then, too hope that you have learned something from this and for your future reference as well.
But he already lost a good portion of his money what he tried to trade during 2017 and 2018, and that is worrying because if you have not learned anything from those days it is very likely that you are going to repeat the same mistakes again, so before anyone begins to trade after they had lost a significant portion of their capital they need to make a very deep research about what happened and why it happened otherwise the same will happen again.
He probably can't escape to that. Looking back to what we've done before is leading us to make new steps ahead. We know that consequences already so better we have to think of other ways for not going to happen again. Though we say we're not perfect and yes we are but can't just let it happens all the time, cause why not to have a change and correct those mistakes we've been commit before.

For the reason that is why most traders experience losses is because of there emotions and choose coins to trade. It can't be a good sign for him to continue in trading if he never changes or learns from what has got. This (big) mistake serves as a sort of learning, it was a bad experience but can't neglect it from happening since we are still learning.

I think investing in BTC and a few altcoins which you believe might be a good start, it's actually a good time to buy now compared to previous weeks, this clearly indicates that you can start making profit after a few weeks if you buy in now.

Add more if you are holding although that is a good start.
Maybe you could spare some with every salary that you will have from your job.
Something like a savings which will go directly to bitcoin.

I wont worry much if you will be a holder. There will be a time that you will not regret what you did and somehow just imagine if you had added larger than what you have now.
For newbies, as you suggested the best way to secure your profits and avoid losses is that you simply put maximum of your investment into bitcoin. Holding simply takes time ret you don’t lose anything. In the mean time, you can spend few bucks that you can afford to take risk with into altcoins and carry out trading on weekly basis in order to make some cash and also you would learn about trading strategies.
Not only this is the least risky strategy for a newbie this is also the best strategy for them, over the years I have seen many newbies come to the forum and invest in the market and the ones that eventually become successful are the ones that choose bitcoin as their first coin and then they begin to slowly invest in other coins, those that invest all their money in exotic altcoins lose their money many times more quickly and as you may guess they never recover it.

You can go for an alts if you want but if the bull comes those alts will left behind, I suggest to you to focus on btc because you once been fooled by alts in the market, you better go with the high potential coin in the market which is btc all you have to do is to wait and have a patience on the market to come.
It also we have to consider for ethereum as well knowing how potential it was than of the other altcoins. But it doesn't mean that we have to put big amount into ETH, I could say 30% for ETH and 70% for BTC.

At OP, we should have to think wisely before investing crypto, we should have to know how the risk it was and be prepared for the possible happenings later either we lose or gain.

Diversify it mate. Sticking to one option isn't a advisable nor recommended atleast. Try distributing your funds with different altcoins as well may be a quarters of your over all fund with Bitcoin like 40% - 50% is for bitcoin and the remaining is for different alts. Well you seemed familiar with the basics then try looking out for other techniques, and try doing it just follow what they do and you'll never be at least failed.

Diversifying is not the issue but selecting the right coins to split the fund is the toughest choice it but I would suggest we need to select couple of altcoins like XLM and TRX who are undervalued from long time and have potential to explode anytime as this will be perfect time to invest in those coins along with a major share into bitcoin itself.
I always find interesting how many claim that a way to protect yourself from losing all your money is to diversify your investment but when more than 90% of the coins are scams diversifying is not protecting your capital at all and it is in fact putting it at risk, a newbie should go for a simple strategy at first and there is nothing more simple than holding only one coin and when that coin is bitcoin then you cannot really go wrong with it, buying any other coin will only add problems for a newbie.

Yeah that’s right we should buy bitcoin if we are new as after researches you will know by yourself that in market there is no other good coin but only Bitcoin so better instead of trying other coins you directly buy some bitcoin and hold it with patience until it recovers,  a new investors will have to keep calm and face fluctuations bravely.

Buy BTC alone because BTC will either drop or drive up but till it stabilizes, I don't think that trying out alts is good. With all in, if you mean that you are going to put the money you may need in future, then please don't do it. Any amount of money that you can just set and forget BTC with and you can afford to lose 'not in full but some percentage' is what I would advice you to invest.

At the end of the month i will put 100-300 dollars and 80% will be for btc.
I regret those times when i had crypto, if i had more money i wont needed to cash out and spent it. Now is time to start again, only a little 100-300$ because i cant afford to loose more, but my plan is to hodl that 100-300$ for at least two years.

Altcoins are generally more risky, there are tons of altcoins available in the market, and very few of them offer and has promising status in the market. You could diversify about 20-30% of your total fund to alts but the rest is much better with bitcoin. Its much safer even with the volatility, if you're a long holder, and you won't worry as much it going off the market, and bitcoin is much more resilient to manipulation and dumps.

If you don't have bitcoin left I would choose to buy all in with bitcoin first. And if I think that I had enough already that would be the time that I'll spend money for alts.

Don't pressure yourself, keep on accumulating and keep on following that strategy of cost dollar average. You are in good hands if you have all in bitcoin.
supporting this because as a starter(thats you because you are in the next start up from the failure in past)Bitcoin can make your dollars more safer than altcoins and maybe consider diversifying in future but now?just hold bitcoin and decide what to do when you have doubled your money already .
Many newbies made a similar mistake of not purchasing bitcoin while they can at a very low price. And now that it's starting to go up, it shouldn't be ignored until they see it at the high price because they'll think that it's too late for them already.

It's the basic strategy that everyone has been doing ever since, buying and holding bitcoin.

Some are newbies are impatient so they'll be needing some amount to use in exploring than just in waiting. I bet half for BTC for holding no matter what and half can be allotted in alts for trading than  shows potential pump in that period so he can still have some circulating capital assuming he is starting to knows how to trade and earn even small amount in each trade he'll be doing. Since we all know how boring it is to just wait and still don't want to add more capital.

I sympathize with you for your altcoin trading loss but that does not mean that all altcoins can definitely put your trading at a loss, i will advise you not to put all your funds in one coin but to diversify your investments.

You can invest 50% of your total funds into btc and spread the rest into other carefully researched  altcoins.

Obviously, Your suggestion will helpful for beginners, But many peoples are expecting a quick profit so they can invest any one altcoin and finally loose the money. My suggestion also we can invest both Bitcoin and altcoin, so we must concentrate the two or more altcoins. All the huge volume coins are good growing altcoins in cryptomarket.
Most likely and this is where mistakes do happen.People arent really that patient enough to consider on putting money into those slow pacing or moving coins
but rather they would check out those alts which do have low cap and then hoping for 1000x multipliers and making hell of a profit on crypto boom but we do all
know that this isnt always the case that do happen yet bull times wont easily happen into these years and upcoming.Diversifying your $300 to crypto into various coins is quite not really worth.

but OP only has 100-300$ budget and i think spreading for 10-20 currencies will give him smaller chance of earning IMO

Spreading your bets makes the most sense with a scene as flaky as this one. Two alts is not diversifying. That reduces your chance of earning as you're only exposed to two when other may be exploding. XRP is slowly being exposed as junkier than ever. Nano has shat the bed quite stunningly compared to some others, but they've all been stunning.

Like I said it depends on the fees. If they're too high buying and withdrawing multiple coins then it's not a goer.

Go on, invest it in bitcoin if you have the money or if you are too eager to buy it, you can diversify a little if you plan on holding some of your altcoins too.
I suggest you find a part time job for your personal expenses and avoid spending your bitcoin to anything. Long term investors are aiming to hold their token specially bitcoin when the right time comes for selling.
If OP still studying then long term might not happen again as he might still use it, if he is in need, he really needs to expand or add cashflow in him so he'll be able to sustain his need without using if ever his investment. Having part time or I suggest half of it's budget now to be intended for investment in bitcoin and half for emergency fund so he still have some savings if ever the market is not in good condition, he don't need to be at loss.
The best way to earn and keep safe his investment is to have a part time job that would really sustain to his financial needs. Even if he was still studying, he can have a part time job or be a working student so that he will ensure his investment without taking some of it since the market is too volatile.
In order to have constant source of income either he shall go for day trading or some part time job. If he finds day trading hectic or stressful, then what you have suggested is great option for him. There are many companies or cafes etc which offer special student packages’ with less hours of work. In this way he can also save money for further investment into profitable crypto currencies.

Bitcoin is a very good investment because it can give big profits once the price is high but it is very risky, the price is so unpredictable and it is not right away that you will get profits so I would suggest you use your spare money to invest or the amount that you can afford to lose. Though we are all expecting a bull run it we don't know when will it happen so if you invest all your remaining money it might only stress you out but if you are determined enough then go ahead and invest ay your own risk.

Some altcoins are also doing great these days so if you are brave enough to risk your money then it'll be fine but if you wanted to be on a safer side then I would suggest to invest in crypto instead because even though bitcoin is very unpredictable but it has tested and proven by many to be the safest to invest to and risk you money with.

Even bitcoin is not safe because our wallet is hackable of we are not careful in this cryptocurrency world. I think we have to just invest money that we don't need in near future because if we stake our money that we need for daily needs we'll have a bad time because we will always look at the market and that habbit will make us panic and lost our investment. So, the best way to invest in crypto is having a mindset of nothing to lose, so we'll be safe in terms of mind.

Hello all;
I used to have a little btc which sold and use in 2017-2018 , i had lost a good portion of it trying to profit trading with altcoins (bad option).
Now a days i dont have any crypto as i have used the crypto i had in 2017-2018 as my principal funds, i spent it on good and cash out the rest ( a little at a lost but i needed that money) as a student ive used it as my principal money.
Last month i spent my lasts sathosis, owning now 0.0000

But after doing some research and thinking a lot im reconsidering to buy a little (like 100-300dollars) and hold it.

Maybe selling goods i dont use i can buy a little more..
Ive spent some of that crypto in collectibles which maybe i sell here

What do you think people? go all in btc or diversify a little on alts?

Thanks in advance

you can take long term?if you do then Go for ALL IN BITCOIN as we are near Halving and 4-5 months of waiting is enough to make a profit, that 300$ may be double or if lucky then its more than that.
though you can side bet to some altcoins like Ethereum and EOS since these two has a big potential soon and the advantage of having low price now,but in the end?its your choice that will happen

10%XRP and 10% NANO

This doesn't make sense and it's not very diverse. You may as well spread across the top 10 or 20 coins if your heart is set on doing this and the fees are reasonable. Most people who got wedded to only one or two projects wind up getting fucked.

I think you have taken a good step when you have thoughts of selling things that you don't use, and come back to buy crypto, even though you have little ability to buy.
in my opinion if you are a student and want to focus on investing for a long period of time, maybe buying btc is right for you. in my opinion Altcoin is not suitable if used for long-term investment, many people have failed with altcoin when they make long-term investments, including myself. it's better for you to make everything in btc, because in my opinion bitcoin is less risky than altcoin if used for long-term investment. and I'm also sure that the future of bitcoin is getting brighter.

Choose carefully among those altcoins since it could be tricky if you don't know what you had invested. The market would eventually explode so soon as we are going near to the year 2020. Bitcoin should be the main coin to invest here since most altcoins are too dependent to the movement of Bitcoin.

Without sentiment, I will say that you go all into bitcoin, the game of cryptocurrency is not going to end now, you need to start using bitcoin to increase your holding while you will still get the chance to invest in altcoin later in future.

If you commit the $300 to bitcoin now, and bull run start making your investment to grow by 3x at minimum, you can take from that profit then to invest in altcoin, because bitcoin just witness its own bull run before it will then go on consolidation for other altcoins to start surging in price too. If I ask you to out your money in altcoin now, you may not be able to be patient for it to grow because I don't see any development for altcoins now until after the halving of bitcoin and during bitcoin bull run that it will get some consolidation.

If you are still hesitant and lazy to research in more detail from each altcoins project that is littered now, then I would recommend to all in on Bitcoin. I'm sure that the potential of Bitcoin as a pioneer of the first digital blockchain currency can have a better impact in the future. If you want to invest for a long time, Bitcoin is not a bad choice. But, if you bet half of the altcoin project that you haven't researched further then you still have the risk of losing your money, lately many projects have run away after not giving the routine updates about the project and ending up being a scam. So, if you want to invest half of your money on Alt, you need to do some research first (I suggest you look at those who occupy the Top 50 positions in the CMC or Coingecko).

Lost a good portion trading for alts... maybe after this IS why spent and cash out the rest and nowadays 0sathosis, i was think that will lose more so its why i dont own crypto nowadays...

Guys, which wallet is good? IS mycellium a good wallet to hodl and adds little portions each month?
Want to hodl 2-3 years

Greetings

If you are planning to hold bitcoin that long, I would simply advise you to get a hardware wallet. If you want desktop though, Electrum will be the best, lightweight, fast and secure although it has been a target for a lot of hackers lately.

Stay away with alts if you have lost so much money on trading/investing on them. Just stick to the old and reliable BTC, specially that bitcoin halving is coming next year and this could be the catalyst for another bull run, in the next 2-3 years.

It's nice if you learn how to diversify that with altcoins, I am not so fan of just trusting my BTC for my investment although I'm convince its the strongest coins in the market. I am just thinking of the return versus the amount you already loss, I mean if this market will recover hard, from the current price now, we might see a big improvement that would result to significant gain for us, and since altcoins are heavily affected, they might also get most of the benefits of the recovery.

What do you think people? go all in btc or diversify a little on alts?
Since you already experience investing in alts (but it didnt turn out well) you're already aware on what to expect. Do you think its worth it to invest in alts? In my experience, investing in alts are profitable however there's a timing on when to take profit so if you're not patient to wait then it might not work.

You're the only one who can decide for yourself, because for me even alts are not doing well I prefer to not go all in with btc and consider diversifying.

Yeah investing and trading with alts only profitable when you know when to enter and when to exits. For long term investment is really recommended to hold BTC while you learn how the alts price movement.
And when you're ready to do a day trade with alts, take a little bit from your BTC investment to alts and learn to trade with it.
Some alts also good for long term investment but the most promising long term investment is still BTC in this current market condition

Just wondering why you are considering of getting back into Bitcoin? Not much has changed really since 2018.

I am assuming you bought BTC sometime in 2017 and sold at a loss in 2018, especially if you got into alt coins. Don't feel bad. Many people got burnt this way, whether it's by realized or non realized profits.

My advice is, if the goods you want to sell have no value to you then go ahead and buy the BTC. It's a small portion so even if it doesn't work out, it won't be a big loss anyways.

Compared to the majority of the alts who are still buried 90% way below of their previous all-time-high, as compare to bitcoin with is just above 50% now, it's pretty obvious that bitcoin is should be your choice. I mean you have experience it already, and you have lost according to you to altcoins then why are you thinking of diversifying right now?

Not that I'm against all, but they have experience a bearish trend and we don't know when it's going to end. While bitcoin is slowly gaining some ground and could hit 5 digits again, just saying.

100-300 USD may not be enough to hold it.
Try adding some more or you could go to services in case you have some skills to offer.
Maybe that could add more to you savings in bitcoin.
Done it here and now I have some good numbers which I enjoy looking everyday. Yes, it will be held for a long time.

$ 100-300 is not a large amount of money, but if you invest appropriately it will bring significant profits for you.
I recommend 50% to buy bitcoin, 30% to buy Binance Coin and 20% to buy ETH. These are the coins that are highly valued in the market and can bring you future profits.

If you can get $100-$300, then you can move to the next step. You can buy all of the amounts for bitcoin, or you can divide it between buying bitcoin and altcoin, so you have a chance to make both profits from bitcoin and altcoin. I suggest the second option, which is you can buy bitcoin for half money and use the other half to buy altcoin.

The altcoin you can but don't have to be a high price, but you can buy low price coins but have the potential to increase. But for what altcoin you can buy, that will depend on your analysis, and I don't want to suggest the coin because I am afraid that if I recommend the wrong coin, you will get losses. So you should search for yourself to find the right coins.

Just my opinion. I think it's better to buy btc today instead of diversifying your investment. The btc halving is causing too much hype in the market that may result into a bull run and It is possible for another all time high next year or in January to June 2021. You are more ensured with btc than other alts in the market but still the decisions are up to you.

The thing is that many of the top altcoins are getting their direction and power from Bitcoin. There is no point in diversifying if these other assets are not actually detached from Bitcoin movements. However, if there is really a need to also get some alts, then getting Ethereum and XRP should suffice. You should, however, be focusing a lot on Bitcoin as this is the digital asset poised to achieve a good rate of ROI in the coming months. I also like your idea of selling the stuffs you don't already need and maybe even start a little eCommerce operation of your own, accepting cryptocurrencies for payments. Sadly, I still have to find a good and reliable gigs platform where we can perform tasks in exchange for Bitcoin, just like the Fiverr site. Yeah, there are many sites like that but most do not have a good number of users.

Hello all;
I used to have a little btc which sold and use in 2017-2018 , i had lost a good portion of it trying to profit trading with altcoins (bad option).

What does your personal experience tells you about trying to get more bitcoin by investing in altcoins? You already know the answer but you do not want to follow your own experience, you already tried that path and you failed, there is no need to try it again when it is even more difficult now to make money with altcoins, but before you make any purchase be honest with yourself, why do you want to hold bitcoin and for how long you can hold it? You failed at that as well and you may fail again.

Many thanks all people for the reply!
I dont want to learn how to trade, im studying and dont want to study anything more haha, i want to buy and hodl like 2-3 years
At the end of the month i hope to have 100-300$ to spent and i want to invest in crypto as i think i need to have a small portion, so by that im considering to re-enter in this space, i trust the future of money will be crypto and the king crypto will be Bitcoin but i needed that money and dont have any penny in the bank account so i cashed out and spent all and im worried now because dont own any sathosi and i like to have a little portion.
I think i will finally buy 100-300$ at the end of the month and 80% Will be for the king (Bitcoin) and the other 20% diversified on alts.
For the one who says "dont buy crypto collectibles" , im with you, i have done it bad, if i had used that money to buy crypto and no that collectibles It will be better, probably better returns in the future. Im going to sell that collectibles in this forum and exchange it to crypto which is better.
Its not good to have crypto collectibles and not have real crypto haha.
So... This month i will invest that 100-300$ (depend of my needs) and the next months i hope to invest a little more, maybe week a week , like investing 20-30$ a week can be good option, i have a crypto atm in my city so its easy.
Sorry if my english is bad sometimes, im learning it haha.

Greetings from Europe

Always start with bitcoin and only delve into alts when you have a decent position in bitcoin.  Alts will end up getting you an empty bag again.  They should be used to hedge your bitcoin position not to be more than your position.  Too many people gamble and lose on alts than the other way around.  Either way good luck to you

If you already have money to invest maybe half of it will be in bitcoin and the rest will be on different altcoins. It is your time to buy now because the price still remains at the price of 9100$+ and it still not move. Maybe do not sell any of your goods but try to find a good or decent job that you can earn money. You can find some jobs here where they will also pay in bitcoin. Always remember that do not put all eggs in one basket that's why you must diversify all your investment.

You already have a bad experience with alts. You should learn from it. If I were you, I would focus on building my wealth on bitcoin. Buy some bitcoin in small portions regularly so that you could cost average the price. You never know. You made mistakes during the last crypto bull run, maybe you can redeem yourself on the next.

You already had a bad experience with alts so why go back and start dealing with them again? Forget about alts and go all in on BTC.

Btw, for how long are you planning to hodl? Did you set a price target at which you'll consider cashing out? Hopefully you won't cash out at 20k because the profits will be minimal (if you're buying such low amounts). My advice: hodl for the long-term, 5-7 years or maybe more.

Better to buy Bitcoin in the long run compared to altcoin which keeps you losing?
Bitcoin has high hopes for you next year so this opportunity is good for you, even though you spent altcoin last year but now you have done your research so reconsider between bitcoin and altcoin.
My suggestion is to hold bitcoin more for your future.

~snip~

It's hard to tell you good advice, because I don't know what you want to achieve? Do you want to be a market speculator or do you want to be an investor? To be a market speculator you must always operate in the sense of the market, and with only Bitcoin, the Altcoins I really do not recommend them for anything and less as an investment.

For investment, what you should do is leave that money there and wait until Bitcoin takes its bullish trend, the problem is that it is not known when it will occur, but I assure you that it is an investment that will not give you losses, the last ATH was of $ 20K, this time there will be a new ATH over $ 20k.

If you leave it in investment, forget about that money, that money should not be touched at all because your investment would fall, so be very careful to keep your accounts and daily expenses up to date without touching your investment. I advise you to read some books by Jessi Livermore and Wyckoff, because they were speculators who took advantage of the movements of the Stock Market, and their teachings can be applied to the Crypto market, as time goes by, your investment is there and you learn, that is, You will not waste time or money.

After you learn and understand the market, you can do your analysis and you will realize if your potential is to be a market speculator or investor.

Buying collectibles in BTC was certainly a mistake on my part. People were paying 5-6 BTC for Casascius error coins that now fetch 1.2 or whatever. If you plan to stay in BTC that's the first thing I'd get rid of.

If your intention is just for investing for a long term, buying btc right now and hold it until the end of next year is the best option in my opinion since bitcoin is gonna held halving and second quarter next year.
But if you want to earn daily earning from doing daytrade you should buy some alts, but from what i heard based on your experienced you're not a good trader who can control emotion so use don't even have 0.00000001 in your balance. So, i recommend you for just doing long term investing

You have already failed in altcoins as you mentioned, and now thinking another chance again?though i don't usually tell people to go all in,but this time as i read your story? I can say that better go Place all for bitcoin and don't think more and do it now as time is running and December is near to come ,this is one of the most expected time that bitcoin and the market will pump at least enough to bring profit

Perhaps one of the reasons for your loss in 2017 is greed. It was high oriented and you decided to jump out.

You must specify why you want to buy Bitcoin? You will not make a profit from the receipt of $ 100, especially since the price is now at about $ 10,000.
You should invest in knowledge, learn how to read charts and then you can earn by knowing using this forum or anywhere.
This knowledge will contribute to converting $ 100 to $ 100,000 using BTC or without it.

If you do not know how to invest it is better to bet on Bitcoin rather than other shitcoins.

Depends.

Are you in it for making short term income or would you rather buy and hold over years?

Sounds like you just want to make short term money. Then you should learn how to trade or you are destined to lose money/cash out again.

your option is better to use half for bitcoin and half for spread in the form of altcoin ,I'm sure your decision return to crypto is the right choice and you will definitely already gained experience in 2017

When you are talking about selling goods, I hope you not talking of your valuable property because investment in crypto is risky. However, bitcoin is safer to put money than in altcoins. Some altcoins are shit and can draw you downwards faster than you think.

Selling out into those years are the best time to sell it out.It isnt really bad to spend out or cash it all if you do have something important to be prioritized.
Going back into crypto investing doesnt have specific or right time for you to question about it because market do always move. Starting for few dollars
isnt a bad start up. Plan for buying alts? Then choose up the top ranking ones.Dont go for low cap coins and hoping for some moon because this wont happen
easily on this year and upcoming ones.

I think diversification is very important in crypto investments. If you ask most seasoned investors about their portfolios they will tell you that they are invested in multiple mainstream currencies as well as a whole bunch of altcoins.

The crypto market is extremely volatile and it is dependent on various factors totally out of our control. for this reason it is important to have a diverse portfolio in which even if one currency plummets the end profit would be secured by growth of other assets or even by the explosive growth of at least one asset. I would divide equally in three areas. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Vechain. They all represent three different facets of the crypto world and are not tied directly to each other.
