Ok guys, ive been searching around for GPU'.

On another note Ive been using claymores zcash and claymores monero cryptonotes to mine. They are running slowly as already pointed out by you guys due to my dodgy cheap GPU. I also setup a wallet with mymonero and placed the wallet address in the bat files etc. When I run the CMD everything seems ok but I can't actually tell whats going on; hoe much monero I'm making, is it going in my wallet ?? etc.

I hope this makes sense. I have been trying to read up on it myself, any pointers would be appreciated.

You can monitor your hashrate and payouts on your pool's website

Several of the multi-coin miners will be flagged by most Antivirus products.
Just make sure you are downloading it from the real author. If you follow a link from this forum, from a trusted member you should be fine.

Yeah with Monero you will need a few top-end GPUs mining around the clock if you want to earn more than pocket change each day.

Hi guys,

thanks for all your input. I believe im up and running I am mining with my GPU using claymores cryptonote. I only have a h/s averaging about 80. Is this to be expected with mu budget rig ?

Another question....so now I got my mine on how do I actaully retrieve XMR to make money etc ?

Grateful as always

You need to create a wallet address and specify it in the bat file, otherwise you're probably mining to the dev's wallet

Also, your hashrate is low because your GPU sucks, get cards at least as fast as a 7950 if you actually want to mine for profit

Hello,

I have a i5 2500k processor and with AMD radeon HD 5670, I've tried using stack CPU executable file but it states the app isn't compatible with my PC ? Some directions to help me mine would be useful

Many Thanks

Start with pool mining, not solo. You need however a Monero wallet.
Find a pool here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/xmr-monero-mining-653467
Most pools have Get Started pages where you can see how the .bat file should look like.

If you want to mine with CPU you can try this miner: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-cpuminer-opt-v3881-open-source-optimized-multi-algo-cpu-miner-1326803

I'm sorry guys...I'm just not really as tech savvy as I'd like to be.

I tried to run crytptonote executable file 'missing c:\users....\minerd.exe

Then I tried start_mining in cmd
Error:wallet failed to connect to daemon ....Please make sure your daemon is running

Sorry to be a nuisance am I totally out my comfort zone. Any further advice would be appreciated

You can use this
https://github.com/zone117x/cryptonote-easy-miner/releases/
and just change with your monero wallet as its working fine every one

NiceHash miner is not scam they just got FEE of 3%, you install they miner, put benchmark and your BTC adress then start mining. They auto convert to BTC and pay you in BTC.

U can try to configure Wolf CPU miner https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wolfs-xmrbcndsh-cpuminer-2x-speed-compared-to-lucasjones-new-06202014-632724 or https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/claymores-cryptonote-windows-cpu-miner-v40-647251 and here you create your wallet https://mymonero.com/

Hi,

I thought about using one of these systems however they appear as viruses and I have heard they are scams. I'm concerned in that way I will lose any moneros I may mine. What do you think ?
