This is obviously none of my personal business and I'm not specifically referring to the thread or situation per se. But the question I have is about "default trust" - what does that mean?
Thanks,
Istaria
On some board you will see a trust rating to the left side below the names. This reflects ratings from different members how trustworthy someone is. You can see my ratings here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=181801
and your ratings here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=463806
You will notice up to three different sections depending on your settings of these ratings.
Trusted feedback - left by people you consider trustworth (we will get to that in a second)
Untrusted feedback - left by everyone else
Sent feedback - the ratings you left for others.
The trusted feedback is what will modify the numbers shown in someones profile. You can decide who is trustworthy and who is not. Settings are here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust
There is a list of members that is considered trustworthy by default, the DefaultTrust account was created by theymos for that and everyone is trusting that user by default. Not only that user, but also everyone that DefaultTrust consideres trustworthy and everyone one level below that. You can change who is on your personal list by adding names to it. You can remove someone by adding their name with "~" in front of it. You can also change the depth, that is how long your chain of trust is.
E.g. Vod is currently on level 2 of DefaultTrust, everyone on Vod's personal list would be on level 3, etc.
DefaultTrust (level 0) -> Tomatocage (level 1) -> Vod (Level 2)
