What change should be made IMO is to restrict newbies from creating threads in certain sections. I would suggest the currency exchange, and lending sections to be among the restricted sections (they can still reply to threads just not create new ones).

I see so many obvious scams in those sections that it is ridiculous, the scams are obvious to everyone and the scam does not work. The would be scammers end up getting trolled and other commerce is reduced. I agree that the forum should not moderate potential scams, but no one believes these scams and commerce only gets interrupted because of these scam attempts.

Some of what appear to be scams are likely from people who simply don't understand the rules and expectations of the forum and community and putting a block on newbies from creating new threads would give newbies more time to read the stickies and other important threads to learn this information.

There is no real reason to be posting anything you wouldn't want your account to be associated with in these two sections, so I don't see any reason why someone would create an account specifically to do a purchase/sale or to borrow money/lend unless they planned on scamming

The newbie 'jail' has to come back, at least for sections such as lending and gambling (or even the entire of marketplace).

The number of brand new users who ask for loans, claim giveaways or post carelessly in these areas is getting over the top.

I suggest the following:
- You must be a Jr. Member with an activity of 42 to post in the above sections.
- You may still browse the sections but not post in them until the requirement of above has been fulfilled.

But then we shouldn't block newbies genuinely asking for loans with suitable collateral, or lending out bitcoin to the others, or advertising their own business (selling goods, services, a new dice site, whatever), or asking for/sharing advice in service discussion right?  Huh

That would be good! But would it be added to current forum? Now the New Forum is under development, maybe, it would be good if you suggest there if it isn't added in the current forum(assuming that everything will be moved/added to new forum except UI Wink ).

I'm on the fence about some form of newbie restrictions being brought back.

3. Give Legendary members the ability to ban Newbies if a collective (3 or more?) vote against him/her.

If 3 dank don't like me I will got banned?  Cheesy

By his proposed rules, yes, and that's why it's not a good idea. Being a Legendary Member doesn't mean you wont become a tyrant and abuse the little power you've been given. One user with a few alts or a team of buddies could just silence anyone they didn't like.
