The Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580's are great cards. Easy to mod and they get good hash while running cool. I have both the Special Edition and the non-SE Nitro+ 8GB RX 580's. I get the best performance and like the non SE (black shroud) version better since I don't like the blue LED fans that can't be turned off on the SE version. The non SE is version is also cheaper and I get slightly better performance with the non SE cards.
Great! Then I'll get that one.

I actually bought the ASRock H110, just for future proofing. Not much price difference and it was cheaper than the ASUS Z270 PRIME A.

The only thing I have to buy at another place is the PSU.

My initial idea was to have 6 GPU rigs, for load balancing (can put ~1500W per phase before I need to upgrade my incoming power). But if I can use two PSU's in one rig (didn't think about that from the beginning) then I can have more GPU's in one rig and still achieve the same result, just put the PSU's on different phases.

Lets say I want to expand to 10+ in the near future, but start with 6. Still get the 1600W for now and then add a second one when I buy the other cards?

Alright, done! Almost Smiley

They only had 5 RX580 PowerColor Red Devil Golden Sample in stock, so I took those. I guess they were the last cause no other shop have them in stock.

So I'm looking for 1 more RX 580 and this seems to be the best bet: Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 8GB ?

Not many RX 580 left, but I found these:
ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon RX 580 8GB Gaming OC
ASUS Radeon RX 580 8GB DUAL OC
Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 8G
SAPPHIRE RADEON RX 580 8GB PULSE

Thank you very much for your help, everyone! Much appreciated Smiley

Delivery next week. So looking forward to it!

The ASRock H81 Pro BTC is a good 6 card mining motherboard. You would need a LGA 1150 CPU, like the G1840 and DDR3 RAM. The RX  580 dual mining will use 130-140 W each, 140 x 6 = 840 W + ~50 W for each the riser, 50 x 6 = 300 W. If you want to go with two power supplies, I would get an EVGA 1000 W P2 that has 6 PCI-E connectors as the primary PSU connected to the motherboard, all the risers and two RX 580. For the secondary PSU you can get an EVGA 750 W P2 with 4 PCI-E connectors for the other 4 RX 580 with a dual ATX splitter cable to join both PSU together.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Cable-Dual-24pin-ATX-Power-Supply-Connector-Splitter-Dual-PSU-ATX-Adapter-MT/352103054205
I thus made my first rig. But then I came to the conclusion that it is cheaper to buy a single server power supply with 6 pin under the GPU and the motherboard. I buy power supply of 2250 kW. He is very quiet and its capacity is sufficient with a large margin. For the price it is even cheaper than buying two power supplies.

I've made some minor adjustments. By the way, I will use Linux since it's what I'm most familiar with.

The Sapphire Radeon RX 580 Nitro+ Special Edition is out of stock everywhere, so that one is out. Back to RX580 PowerColor Red Devil Golden Sample.

I also saw they have ASROCK H81 Pro BTC R2.0 in stock. Almost half the price of the ASUS Z270 PRIME A. Stick to the Asus or go with the Asrock?

I will not have more than 6 GPU's per rig since it's good for me, load balancing wise.

Also read that the GPU has 150 watt max. 150 x 6 = 900. Would it be enough with a 1200 watt PSU or is it cutting it a bit close? Or get 2 x 650W-750W (easier to find)?

6 x RX580 PowerColor Red Devil Golden Sample
1 x ASUS Z270 PRIME A
or 1 x ASROCK H81 Pro BTC R2.0
1 x Intel Pentium G4400
1 x 4GB DDR4 Samsung
or 1 x 4GB DDR3 Samsung (if I choose Asrock)
1 x Sandisk 16GB 3.0
1 x EVGA Supernova 1600 P2
or 1 x EVGA Supernova 1200 P2
6 x Risers - v006

Great choice of cards, I bought 20 of these, and they all came with Samsung Memory, so thats a good thing.

The only problem with them is they are 3 slot cards, so they are much bigger than others.
However, if you are able to find Sapphire RX580 Special Edition, then that would be a better option in my opinion.
My Special Edition cards are all 85%+ ASIC Quality, where the power color ranged from 70-85%

Thank you!

Do you know how much each RX 580 will be worth? i only have gtx 1060 here running and planning to build a new mining rig can you  give me some idea how much RX 580 each with samsung memory? if i have a very cheap or free electricity i was thinking that its more profitable than nvidia graphics card..

4GB model ranging about 249-279$ , while 8GB models range from 289-599$

https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=rx580&N=-1&isNodeId=1

From the details, you cant actually tell either you may get a samsung or elpida/hynix, it must be a luck when already on hand.  Grin

Do you know how to modify them i heard that hashing power of RX 580 is 24 mh/s claymore but there are someone reflashing it and increase the hashing power of almost  31 mh/s do you know that tools and how to reflash the Rx580..
Just searched right now from google that i thought the hashing power of rx580 is the same as just gtx 1060.

I got my Sapphire Special Edition cards from the local distributor in my country, got them got 315 US$.

Most 8GB Cards whether 570 or 580 come with either Hynix Memory or Samsung Memory, these can normally overclock to 2150mhz easily, Samsung can reach 2250mhz.
4GB cards can come with Elpida memory, which can barely overclock to 2000mhz.
I just found a video that someone can modified and reflash the program of AMD graphics card from youtube.. i don't really know if its true or not since i only have gtx 1060 i would like to know to other experience miners here that reflashing amd cards could improve the hashing power?

Yes it is very easy even a newbie can do it if he is knowledgeable enough to follow the steps on the video, this video is really user friendly and you can find it in the link below :

The profit issue depends on the coins, diff, and EXchange values to BTC. Profits may change from prediction. From the hardware has good. next, schedule for maintanance.

No need for an i3 or 8GB of ram with a 6 card mining rig, it's just a waste of money. A Pentium like the G4400 and 4GB of DDR4 is enough. If you plan to run smOS or ethOS, then a 16GB USB 3.0 flash drive is enough. For running Windows 10, I would recommend a 128 GB SSD. Great choice on the PSU. An EVGA 1600 T2 has plenty of overhead for six RX 580's even with dual mining and with 9 PCI-E connectors, you can use 6 for the VGA power inputs and the other 3 for the 6-pin risers using a 8-pin to dual 6+2 -pin splitter cable.

I have been following from the sideline for a bit and now thought I would jump in.

I have very cheap electricity, so ROI would be a bit shorter and thought I would start with a 6 GPU rig. I watched a BBT episode (https://www.bitsbetrippin.io/pages/episode78) and checked the stock situation at the computer store and they had everything at home for the RX580 setup.

RX580 PowerColor Red Devil Golden Sample 8GB
ASUS Z270 PRIME A
Intel i3 6100
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 8GB DDR4
Sandisk 16gb 3.0
EVGA Supernova 1600 T2
7x Risers - v006 (amazon)

Anything to change?

When looking at whattomine it gives me an expected earning of ~$20/day. Is that doable with that setup?

Thanks a bunch!

Yes it is, however, don't expect that it would remain on that profits, mining difficulty continues to rise and coin price is also volatile, it is indeed your great advantage if you have cheap electricity, so far your build is fine, just give your rig a proper ventilation.

Happy mining!
