This is what I use (when I CPU mine) - it is an optimized cpu miner:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/philosopherstone/files/QRK/

It says QRK in the url but it works for EAC as well.

If you have Intel i3, i5 or i7 CPU, download the i3i5i7_Improved2.zip. Otherwise download the Win64_all_Improved2.zip.

Extract the zip to a folder of your choosing, open a cmd window, and go to the folder where you extracted the files. Then type this:
start /LOW /B minerd.exe -a scrypt -t 4 -o stratum+tcp://eac.poolerino.com:3333 -O MyPoolUserName.MyWorkerName:MyWorkerPassword

Ok why the /LOW parameter? Well, if you wanna keep using your computer while mining, it keeps your desktop more responsive. But when you're not using it yourself, the miner will still use all the CPU that is available. Also, change the -t parameter to a number of logical cores in your CPU.

Happy mining!

I really appreciate it but I think thats a little to advanced for me, I was looking for a user interface type or if you have a eac wallet you see the mining button?' but whenever i enter the stuff it says check url and or port but they are correct...but thanks

BitcoinSteve, I know how you feel! I literally had to glue my eyes to the monitor constantly, reading, trying stuff out, 'hey I got this', 'crap, no I don't'.  Trial and error, and tons of reading on mining and how it's done from all over is probably still gonna be your best teacher. And there are some wonderful teachers here, lemme tell ya. I wish you luck and lots of coins!

Thanks, I tried the miner built into eac finally got it and it said site wasnt right or something, I tried GUIminer and get the Nothing to mine on error Sad

1) download this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cpuminer/files/
and extract files in earthcoin directory
2) choose a mining pool and subscribe to it (here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/anneac-earthcoin-seeking-new-exchanges-huge-volumes-being-missed-379236 there is a list)
3) when you're logged into mining pool's website, set up a "worker" (if your user name in the pool's website is "BitcoinSteve", worker ID can be something like "BitcoinSteve.worker")
4) open earthcoin client, go to mining tab. Select "pool mining", in "server" put mining pool's andress without "http://", in "username" put your worker ID, in "password" put worker's password.
5) start mining

did that signed up at a pool  here; http://eac.poolerino.com/  set up worker, went to EAC wallet clicked mining entered this for server:

   stratum+tcp://eac.poolerino.com
PORT:   3334
Username:   Weblogin.Worker  -put mine in
Password:   Worker Password  -put mine in

says solo mining started but at 0 hashes per second? Please help

select "pool mining" in "type"
