Good to see there are newcomers investing their time to take read to the forum rules and regulations I think OP just takes some time to read it's just only a few posts he has, it's better to share information too not always gain came from others. I think I recommend checking the activity of other members like the one who got a lot of merits because you can get an idea to them how to become a useful member. Good luck with your journey we are looking forward to your content.

I've said elsewhere that when I first joined the forum I would read threads, find something to write about, log in and post, log out, then read some more.

As it is, being a newbie you have to wait five or six minutes between posts, so you may as well find something interesting to read about while you're waiting.

I'm new to this forum as well, but is not my first time on forums. My basics are check if there is a welcome/introduction group, which I've seen already that there is nothing like that in here, and is not mandatory like in others, and just don't be afraid of opening new threads.
All the newbies, like you and me, are always afraid of asking things because they can look to silly.

But what is the most important for me, is to use the search bar to make sure that no one has asked before. Not doing this can be super tedius for the admins of this forum.
Seriously, go through most of the long term users here, and they would have asked "silly" questions once upon a time. They aren't silly though, questions are usually based on the users experience level, and thus basic questions, when you are new to any technology is expected. Its always best to search up whether your question has already been covered, but I understand sometimes as a learner you need to put the question into your own words, to fully understand it, and I sometimes wish users of the internet in general were more accepting of that fact. In universities, they encourage you to ask questions in your own word, we all have a different vocabulary, and what you might think you understand, you might actually be overseeing something, because of a technical term. Its so easily done with Cryptocurrencies too.

So, although its definitely recommended you search your question up first, don't be afraid if you don't understand the explanations given. Its usually better to start a new thread, than to bump an old one, with a question that doesn't actually add much to the discussion itself.

I will generalized to welcome newbies in this forum. Op, you are very welcome in this forum. You created your account on april 24, 2021 which is a few days back but it is good to know or hear that there are still newbies who read and learn first during the few stays staying in this forum rather than posting soon and then ask how to earn merit for whatever purpose they want with merit.

Welcome to both of you including OP.  Smiley

That's a good practice that you do. Because there's still a lot of topics made and it's duplicating because they don't use the search bar. That's why they don't know if there's already an existing topic regarding the question that they want to ask.

But using it will make you know if a topic has already been made for your question.

It was really fun. I am here for the purpose of new people like me, I would like to say that before you come here to post, understand the forum well and then spread yourself. The sooner you learn it, the more important your forum will be. And if you do not do so, then you may be banned for life in the forum. Create something here that encourages every member of the forum.
thank you

This is best practice to familiarize yourself first with every platform you arrive be it bitcointalk.org or any other forum. There is so much info here from extraordinary crypto geeks. If you understand the rules of posting, there are bright chances that your rank will go up with time.

Welcome whoever newbies replied here. Nothing here to warn, rather than it would be an introduction post. But yes, the good thing is you are aware of the unofficial forum's official rules. Most newbies don't care about forum rules and eventually they fall in trouble like ban account. So hope you not only read the rules but also will respect them. It's quite important to respect and follow the rules.

I will encourage you to read the threads mentioned by @tranthidung. You would find more useful information about forum culture there besides forum rules. Wishing you a great journey.

From your write up, I could decifer that your doing great and you still have a ot to learn. Especially with your composition, paraphrasing and all that. Its okay, you can't go pro without a few trying days. You've just got to be active, thats all it requires and in time, you would learn. It gives room for participation and freedom of expression but also within the context of the rules.

Many have come and.many has also left us, not because they were bad at learning but because they made the least or under estimated a forum rule. Some users just want to test it, to try and see if it is what the rule says it is. To hope that, they could get away with something because, the internet is wide and the informations avial to the forum users are limited. They tend to forget that the Internet is for all as much as it is there's and that the forum is also global. This is what promotes plagiarism which is one of the basic reason for the ban of several newbies and beginners at large. The forum doesn't give room for inordination, you could note that and everything is carefully moderated.

Welcome to the forum.

The most useful warning for newbies are
I don't want to react so harsh but if your saying is true, I think you would concentrate on reading, learning instead of making such useless topics.

Searching is powerful and can help you before anyone else on the forum help you with your questions. Most of questions from newbies can be answered by Searching.

This may be the basic, as long as you have eager to learn, you can do it.
everyone here is still learning anything in the forum, this may be only a matter of time.
Every member here comes from a newbie and you can see how they can make progress n this forum, once more because all here is learning and practicing.
After understanding the rules and regulations in this forum, hopefully, you can also practice it and contribute better to the forum.
Sometimes, it may not be easy for you to start or even to develop what you are going to make posts here, sometimes, you will get any pros and cons, get some critics and suggestions, and also sometimes some people may not agree with you. And at that time, you may not be low motivated anda lso give up. Everyone here giving suggestions aims for making better.
I am also here still learning and getting updated news about anything here.

Just remember the most important rules, which are usually general etiquette across the internet. Don't get discouraged to post a thread if you don't know exactly where it belongs. That's why we have staff who will move threads for you. I'm not encouraging anyone to break the rules knowingly, but I don't newbies to feel overwhelmed, and that prevents them from posting. For minor issues, you'll learn as you go along, and become more experienced in using the forum.

you should not be afraid of forum rules, nothing is different from the moral rules of real life.
if you have honest intentions and behave that way, there is no reason to worry that you will be banned. We do not know each other personally, that does not mean we should not respect or steal from each other.
So, again. Forum rules = Nothing less and nothing more than in real life.
Correct, Especially to basis rules,  but to a microscopic extent the rules here differs from normal world, infact some rules here has nothing to do with normal world or what people may have been used to outside before coming here.

First the rules are much, from this post https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7955645  you can see that they are 33 on the post, and some of which newbies hasn't understood before. Rules concerning bumping, and rule number 31 and many more might new to -Newbies- so it's always highly recommend for every -Newbies- to take a good understanding of all the rules.

Any forum rule you can find in real life.
For example, if we talking about bumping or spam. Any forum user especially a newbie need to think about, whether he is comfortable when in the local market, promoters constantly offer chicken legs even if you are not interested.
you choose which wine to buy but someone stands next to you and tells you how chicken legs are good project food. You go on to find the cheese, but again the same guy talking about chicken legs.

The rules of the forum guides you on what practice is accepted and which isn't, but it does not tell one how to use the forum features effectively, for this there are other information you'll need to know, such as the link posted in the first reply,
• Also, pay attention to the stickies on each thread to know where to post what topic,
• The top icons are also useful for a new member,
HELP guides a user on how to correctly use the features on the forum and what the different icons mean
SEARCH is useful for discovering new information and deciding whether a particular topic has been discussed before, to avoid spam.
You can explore the other icons.
