Topic: Newbies mass starting new threads, mainly with useless topics (Read 347 times)

I don't even know why these megathreads are still existing up to this day. Shouldn't those be counted towards off-topic, nonsensical posts that doesn't contribute to the quality of this forum? Or the mods could lock the threads up in order to at least reduce the clutter of spam that's lingering on these kind of posts.

Anyway, as for the recent influx of newbies, what The Pharmacist stated is true. A quick view on some of the local boards I can partly understand (Indonesia, Philippines, India) and I'm greeted with multiple posts asking about how to increase ranks fast in order to get to the highest paying campaigns. Well what do you expect, seeing that bitcoins is already worth $10000+ a pop, these people would look into something that can make them a quick buck.

This. The news that you can easily earn money from this forum for merely posting crap or copy and pasting posts or content from elsewhere must be spreading like wildfire through South East Asia. Not only do they sign up with multiple accounts each but they then get their wives/children/cousins all involved, hence why the forum is such a shitshow of barely readable crap.


Even though there's stickies in Bitcoin Discussion and Off Topic prohibiting this, day after day we still get threads created like "do you prefer mountains or beaches" or "do you prefer sex and chocolate" (those are actual threads posted here).


I've seen those sorts of threads numerous times. They obviously just read online somewhere that you can get paid to post here and think it's the forum that pays you to do so.


Yep. Sometimes you'll see users who's entire post history here is just posting in the same type of crap threads over and over again. "I heard about bitcoin because you can make profit for daily needs". "I like bitcoin because it helps me with my daily needs". "I heard about this forum because you can make money which helps with my daily needs". Seriously, just search "daily needs" in bitcoin discussion and you'll see what I mean.


Colossal one liner shitposters will be permabanned or nuked, the others given a temp ban as a warning.

The very sad part is some of the threads they made had many post also from new newbies to members reply post and if deleted by the moderators they complain like they have done nothing wrong and again posting new thread asking why post have been deleted.

I do not believe the mods care enough to delete those threads. I tried reporting them before but nothing.

The sad part is they are not interested in Bitcoin/Cryptos. They just repeat what others say before, they don't even understand what they repeat. You can test yourself. During 2-3 days post in the forum that Bitcoin price will be over $25k on Sunday because of the new fork BitcoinPussy. They will start to spread the information in each section of the forum that a new fork BitcoinPussy is coming...
They have no interest in cryptocurrencies. They even collect coins from airdrops then don't even know what to do with, how to exchange, etc.

I think most of them are idiots from Asia who've heard that you can come to bitcointalk and earn money through signature campaigns.  One of the rules lately has been to not post in spam megathreads, so a lot of these noobs create their own--for themselves AND for their alt accounts to post in.  There was a guy a couple of weeks ago who started a thread basically asking "Hey I started posting here, when is the bitcoin going to show up in my wallet??".

A lot of noobs are just trying to rank up as quickly as possible, because they know the higher-ranked their account is, the more money they'll earn.  Look in meta and you'll see how many noobs are extremely concerned about posts being deleted and how to become a Jr. member.  It's fucking ridiculous.  None of them can write proper English, and most of their posts say the same thing--extremely positive comments about how bitcoin is life-changing, it keeps increasing day-by-day (that's my favorite), and blah blah blah.

Don't know about any of you, but I report posts that are shitposts.  I'll leave it to the mods to decide whether the posts get deleted or the user gets nuked.

What do the moderators think they are? Should this be a cause for concern? If it really was option no. 3, then we could regard it to be an attack on the forum and the Bitcoin community.

We have seen how they try to rhetorically spread their message. They can be quite convincing.
