People should start learning first the basics and the very nature of bitcoin and its crypto market. And that will only be possible if they take some time learning and understanding the forum. After that, if they already understand the overview of bitcoin and how it possibly works in the market, it’s flaws and advantages, hence any articles outside this forum will never be effective that much. I mean those first learnings will only be added, not being changed.

It can happen, two weeks ago i didn't think it was possible, but now that bitcoin price has been rising in the past few days, right now it is above $85k, so $100k seems like a strong possibility this year. That being said, i think we are poised to go well above $100k, quite a lot of people have been focused on that price, but with how things are looking, we could get double of that, who knows.

Discussions on this forum are informative and comprehensive. This means this forum is a good place to gather information about Bitcoin and the entire crypto market. But other platforms give out sound information to anyone interested. Newbies should read from different reliable platforms to enable them to verify the information they are been exposed to. Buying Bitcoin shouldn't be the first thing a newbie should learn. He has to learn how the Bitcoin system works, wallet use, and security, before considering buying. Without this foundational knowledge, a newbie could lose his investment.

The last post I read on Forbes was about trump and how his victory would pump the price of Bitcoin to 70k or 80k. These writers don't have deep rooted knowledge of Bitcoin other than to push naive investors to throw in money into Bitcoin without any proper background information.
I guess they where right afterall, bitcoin price has shown a great push after Trump's win. Sometimes people may not have a deep rooted knowledge about bitcoin but there instinct are right though. Bitcoin growth is not certain and can't be predicted correctly since it works on demand and supply. Speculation is one factor of bitcoin rise/fall. In which ever way the forbes push investors to buy bitcoin, it is also a way of increasing the growth of bitcoin. For me I prefer anything that drives people to adopt bitcoin than anything that will deprive people not to adopt bitcoin. But I don't like the aspect of pushing naive investors with Zero knowledge to buy bitcoin when they don't know the sole purpose of investment Since they'll be nothing favorable to learn on the main media blogs it would be better for newbies to read resources here and be well grounded on Bitcoin before going further to research on sites that only focus on how politics would skyrocket bitcoin price.
You can't proclaim that there is nothing favourable in the media, Despite BTT forum is the best place to learn about bitcoin. There are also important information in the media that helps alot of people. As a matter of fact some information gotten from the media are used here. so all works side by side for the betterment of bitcoin even though some may not be totally true. I don't get it why someone will listen to something that's completely the opposite of what the industry stands for.
They listen to all the crap that the media says because they don't know anything about the industry yet, so whatever they hear is the first batch of information about the industry for them, and unfortunately, that information is about 99% negative because mainstream media isn't or never was in favor of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies proceeding to become a part of people's daily lives because all these media outlets and news channels, etc. are owned by the same people who are owning centralized financial institutions.
Even if there is so much knowledge and information available about Bitcoin, we will still have people who would somehow get misguided by someone out there who is against the whole innovation and technology and wants to live their entire life being a slave of the centralized institutions sucking all the blood out of them in the form of fees and whatnot.

The gullible people are those who don't understand how Fundamentals work for crypto, so the mainstream media is influencing millions of people with news they make up themselves.
Sadly we can't get rid of gullible people in the industry because we'll always have them provided the entire world isn't fully educated on Bitcoin yet. Every bull market comes with it's own set of gullible users as people come into the market with hopes of making quick x returns as speculated by the big media.
The media knows there is always going to be people that listen to them although I don't get it why someone will listen to something that's completely the opposite of what the industry stands for.
Before investing in Bitcoin, we should be aware that the industry is decentralized and go against anything centralized therefore we shouldn't be getting our information from centralized sources but decentralized and those shared by community like the forum so every information can be verified by others and we don't get misinformed.

There are writers that are much like those social media influencers where they post or write something like that to make other people believe what they write or post. If you ask me it is the same as someone teaching bitcoin to other person the wrong information or details which leads to knowing a false information. It is the most important thing for a newbie to do when starting in cryptocurrency such as reading more about bitcoin and making sure that the information is from the right source.
I've times without number advised newbies to always try as much as possible to filter where they pick information regarding learning the cryptocurrency generally. It's not every blog site you see out there that gives you the true information you require about how these crypto technology or markets operates.
Some of these blogs are writing articles and placing keywords that will give huge traffics to their sites and make them gain popularity by ranking good in the ranking sites and search engines but really pushing out the most reliable information out there. I'm not saying that's how all of the blogs operate but I can tell you that majority of these platforms are only out there to make their money like the social media influencers.
The best way to get information about crypto related problems and trends is by joining forums like this and communities where you can interact with the real and experienced individuals and share your peculiar problems to them for solutions.

You can’t blame the mainstream media entirely for what they show us about bitcoin. They are limitations to what they can post about bitcoin before they’re been penalized for advertising another currency which government is seeing as competition against their fiat currency. There are many websites that talks about bitcoin but you can’t get everything you need in detail there and what you get from there cannot be sufficient enough for you to say you’re a bitcoin guru and knows everything about bitcoin. The bitcoin market is very wide and the technicalities involved in it cannot be thought on those websites and hence, for a forum like this where you get to ask questions about the whole mechanism of it and get the answers to your questions. The forum is a book of knowledge on its own, you can learn everything you ever wish to know about bitcoin from here and be satisfactory.

I would say it is better to ignore mainstream media and not watch it at all. Obviously they are very biased and work together towards their own agenda. And if Bitcoin happens to not be on said agenda, they will either not report or throw dirt on it.

There is a lot of useful information in the media regarding bitcoin. Examples of such places have already been shared by other members, but the question is, how recommended are they? Do they like Bitcoin price news without even searching for it? Sometimes each time you open your browser, you see suggestions about trending news, and once it's about crypto, it will be about a possible price pump or what could lead to a price dump. Most of this pop-up news is based on how much interest people have shown in that particular kind of news.
So unless some newbies are being pointed in that direction or they do their own deep research, they might not come across information about bitcoin wallet safety and guidance in this forum. Popular adoption is through mainstream media instead of the other way around of first understanding what Bitcoin is and how it works, but honestly, people are successful in convincing others to invest in Bitcoin because of the profit instead of the benefit of the technology behind it, and mainstream media is good at it, and we people are attracted to what will yield us profit because of our nature of taking risk in exchange for profit.
Going mainstream is better but without it, Bitcoin has been already growing up very well since 2009. So we can hope for future with "Bitcoin goes mainstream" but even it won't come too early, it's not nightmare for Bitcoin and us. Bitcoin will continue its growth, and remember that since 2009, its adoption growth is out of all expectations.The first ever thing can revolutionize societies and grow up very exponentially. Only like 8 years ago, it was hard to believe that Bitcoin can be trade around $80,000. It used to be big hope and dream for many people but only 8 years later, we all touch that dream.

They are media sources that when they do beyond which they’re suppose to, they may have to face the government for it. I don’t think they don’t have enough information about the technicalities of bitcoin, they’re just not sharing it for people to get to know more about bitcoin and just allowing them to know the basics of it only, knowing the price of bitcoin only. The news about Trump will have a positive impact on his elections when it’s affiliated to bitcoin and that’s why they shared such news there.

Those sites are focus mainly on the fundamentals of bitcoin and those are what the governments have influence on and can control. Any other thing that has not to do with them having some level of control over the system, they won’t allow the people to get to have that knowledge. This is not something that is surprising. The government and its concubines will always do what will favour them over what the masses will benefit more from.

People buy Bitcoin for multiple reasons such as mostly the investment purposes and to use on casino platforms, then to make actual peer to peer transfer by eliminating the traditional banking system. Now about people who buy Bitcoin just purely for Investment doesn't necessarily to have technical aspects of Bitcoin, just a overview is good enough but the real important thing is wallet security, finding the right trading platforms.

It is true that newbies in crypto should read about how bitcoin works before buying bitcoin and before reading mainstream news or articles. But what that is most important is not about how bitcoin works but about security, safety and privacy. Some people do not read it but what that taught them lesson is when they lost their coins to hackers.
That's what happens to many people, why do they often lose bitcoins like being hacked or because of other things, it's all because they only read news or articles about bitcoin speculation. Especially when bitcoin is strengthening like now, many of them are interested in buying bitcoin, actually there is nothing wrong, it's just that they forget to learn about bitcoin as a whole, such as asset security, safety, and privacy.So it is very important for everyone, especially beginners, to learn the most basic bitcoin system before buying because bitcoin investment has a big risk if understood correctly. We have passed the stage in which the mainstream media were working so hard to discourage people from embracing Bitcoin, calling it all manner of names. Now almost everyone have come to terms with the fact that Bitcoin is neither a bubble nor a ponzi, two wrong assertions from some vocal Bitcoin critics. Understanding how Bitcoin works and the speculation of the mainstream media are two different and independent things. One thing I love about this industry is that even things that you neglect contribute to market effects. Even they so called lies have their way of contributing to the industry by creating FOMO or FUD. Sometimes, one does not need to be technically rooted in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency before they could influence the market. We can't stop the media from spreading their lies and fomo attempts to manipulate the market. We can't stop them from reporting what they feel like doing but we can make them to stop with their manipulation through not believing what they say.
We can go opposite of everything that they claim will happen but some people will still believe them because people are looking for who they can follow as leaders.
Mainstream media has a propaganda to control the price of Bitcoin and they know they can only do that through reporting fake or wrong news to put fear in the markets and this what is happening in the market. Not everything that the media reports that we're going to believe. We can verify some news from external sources that aren't the typical media.
They believe on those outlets its because they think they are professional enough to deliver credible information, but they didn't know that this media outlets is weapon to manipulate peoples mind that's why people should be a critical thinker so that they would know what is right and what is wring they hear some information coming from them.
Its so important that we are knowledgeable enough to know bitcoin also how everything works so that we will not get mislead by their manipulative attacks and can really go opposite base on what they are spreading.

We can't stop the media from spreading their lies and fomo attempts to manipulate the market. We can't stop them from reporting what they feel like doing but we can make them to stop with their manipulation through not believing what they say.
We can go opposite of everything that they claim will happen but some people will still believe them because people are looking for who they can follow as leaders.
Mainstream media has a propaganda to control the price of Bitcoin and they know they can only do that through reporting fake or wrong news to put fear in the markets and this what is happening in the market. Its not good that what you know about Bitcoin is the financial aspect, it will make your belief in Bitcoin superficial, you only here because of the profit and when see that the market is in bear and you keep losing your investment, you will eventually discard investing in Bitcoin.
Its important to read and understand Bitcoin's whitepaper and use it to buy stuff on the internet, because this is the end goal of Bitcoin: to be used as a peer-to-peer payment.

Any newbie who starts to learn about bitcoin for the first time from this forum should consider himself very lucky to have found a source he can learn everything about bitcoin the way it is and not like some random updates/teachings to get traffic on social media platforms. Many of us heard about bitcoin/crypto from the mainstream media, we got fed with only the ideas that excited us to invest. We made some mistakes because we were not fully informed. I guess that is what makes us newbies, if we knew better, we wouldn't settle there.
Using myself as an example, the mistakes I made with my first investment in crypto made me to research further to find out what went wrong. Found this forum along the line and I can only boast because I am sure of the information I am getting here.

OP, by making such a statement, how many newbies do you think will hear you? Everything that starts to be popularized initially comes from the most popular news channels. And newbies are those who just fall under the influence of this news. Weren't you the same? We all go through this path and then draw conclusions based on the information that is provided to us. Someone must learn on their own, and someone must learn from the mistakes of others. The curious will be safe because they will go further and find many sources, filtering out the garbage. But others can fall into the clutches of advertising; otherwise, it would no longer exist, and they still have a choice in their opinion and conclusions.

IMO, getting to know how political news and rumors trigger Bitcoin price movement isn't something that someone must really learn even as a beginner. It's something I believe every newbie can get to know as they keep hanging and spending more time on the Bitcoin space. Of course, I will agree with you that some blogs don't really teach those basic Bitcoin knowledge, though I've not check Forbes that you mentioned. I think in my early days here as a beginner, I used more of River learn, even though their teaching wasn't too technical and indepth, but was perfect for a beginner to gain that basic Bitcoin knowledge. I still read through some of their articles when I've the chance to do that.

Most newbies do not make proper findings before choosing to invest in cryptocurrency they do not take out time to know what they want to invest in what they do is just to read about the price of Bitcoin, plan on how they can use it to make gains and nothing more, majority of the people who have lost their funds as a result of negligence of the importance of adopting security measures to protect their funds.
People should know this, the media is just there to create their own content they may not take out time to do what any investor is supposed to do so it is the responsibility of the investor to do adequate ready and know the right time to invest before choosing to invest in the first place.

Bitcoin has become a good topic for discussion and publication. One thing I know is that these sites are deeply interested in building their reputation and speaking on current trending topics that will drive users to their sites. Forbes I know always has the latest on ongoing events. I am not surprised if they only speak about the price of Bitcoin rather than the development. Most of their visitors on the site are millionaires and billionaires, they will share content that helps these big men. Investors do not care about the development unless the development has something to do with the price of the asset. What they want to hear is opportunities they can derive in every news they listen to.

It is not new that one can get misleading information about BTC in the mainstream media, sometimes they even call bitcoin a scam and discourage people from buying it, but it is what it is, people who show a genuine interest still find a way to filter out what is false and fud, and they later find their way into bitcointalk.
That being said, at this point bitcoin is unstoppable, the government and the media knows that and despite regulations and the fud they create, the network is growing and will continue to do so.

These sources are mainly doing content for Bitcoin about its price, there's no other content that they make about technicalities and they always romanticize some of the celebrities as usual saying that Bitcoin might pump due to them and just plainly giving prices. There's nothing wrong with that because all they wanna do is to cover something for their agency/news agency. And it's true that newbies have to learn the basic understanding of BTC first before relying to the news that they can read through these sources.

When it comes to bitcoin, what an individual need is a self deep knowledge and understanding of the market in your own unique ways, most times what differentiate our experiences in bitcoin is the amount of our cash flows, because when an individual have a enough cash flow his bitcoin purchasing appetite will be highly increase and he may not consider timing and even price sometime when he want to invest in bitcoin.

Firstly is see the idea of trying to learn bitcoin or crypto currency in general from social media influencers is just a waste of time. One very huge defect of learning from social media platforms is lack of authentic and correct information. The internet as well as social media enis full of lies and a whole lot of wrong information all round. People really don't care these days what they promote as well as what they explain online if it's the right information or not.
As far as I'm concerned a majority of social media influencers really don't care much the kind of information they give out to the public as long as it benefits them especially in a financial way. You are right but most of the newbies don't really get at first that their approach to learning BTC is wrong, I don't know how I ended up here because the approach I chose was so dumb and would never have led me here but I think it's luck. I always think of BTC as money money-making machine when in 2018 I came to know about it. Then we realize we chose the wrong path to understand how BTC works and we chose the wrong sources. I am blaming myself and regretting for following some famous YouTubers from my country guiding us about online work while they were simply making some attractive thumbnails and making money out of us and when I realize that I left them but did not tried to find other best options and when I do I failed.
Now as time passes, I found more and more resources and I wish if I would have seen them before. The point is a lot of time has been passed when a newbie come to realize they are on the wrong tack with wrong friends.

Perhaps, Forbes also specializes on influence of politics on world economy, so if they are ONLY talking about Trump's possible victory playing a major role in pumping the price of bitcoin instead of emphasizing on it's development, i don't see anything wrong or misleading there because that is literally what most bitcoin lovers think also.

These sites are just there to cause major speculations in the market.. it's why most of the times I don't advice newbies to follow up on these news sites as most of the writers just put up contents to increase their views and likes not caring much of their informations has any real effect on the market on not.. they dont have good knowledge on Bitcoin and so if anyone really wants to know about Bitcoin then this forum actually teaches more than you will ever get outside.. again, the coming election might not necessarily affect price but you can see how these speculation has already been wide spread. so it might cause a major shock in the market leading to a short retest in price.

Tell me one simple thing! Do you like free publicity or you don't? I say such negative news were most common back in 2018 and it went on till 2021.
Did Bitcoin got thrashed or the governments of most countries banned Bitcoin? What I see now is that those negative publicity made it to where we see Bitcoin now. Remember with every step that Bitcoin takes you will find one questioning about it.
