Primecoin - I managed to mine 2 blocks solo in a week.

You can also try joining P2Pools. You won't get much but you will get something.

CraftCoin seems good, but with a CPU it might be a little slow. The difficulty sometimes drops under 1 so you might be able to get something.

There is a huge amount of alternative cryptocurrencies out there. Most of them are just clones of Bitcoin with some slight difference. If somehow the market is going to change chances are high it will be in favour of some distinctive coin.

Nvidia cards are not worth for any coin mining.

If possible, get amd based card and then look for some coins.

Pool mine and don't mine solo.

I figured that out, that's why I'm searching for a CPU-only coin. Or is this a newbie-answer from my side?

Try Primecoin, Protoshares, Datacoin and Quarks for CPU mining and post how many hashes are you getting.

a few com to mind but I'm not sure how new they are.  So for the time being I'll just throw out Quark coin.  Though I don't have a clue what the difficulty for mining is.

You need to catch the coin when it starts, even GT650m could be enought to solo mine something in 1st day. Then wait for the pump of price and sell when the price is still rising because dump can come anytime

I was searching for a coin that's only cpu mine-able since I obviously lack in power. Any suggestions?

You need to read Alternate cryptocurrencies section so you dont miss announcement of next new altcoin  Smiley

Hi,

I started a few weeks ago trading crypto at a few exchanges. I am searching a alt coin for solo mining. A coin with low difficulty at the moment, but tradeable at stocks. I can't figure it al out, tried coinchoose etc. But I can't seem to get the mining working. Tried primecoins, cinnamon etc. I want to gamble with a new coin and learn the mining process.

My specs:

I7-3630QM
Nvidia GT650m 2gb
6GB ram

I was searching for a coin that's only cpu mine-able since I obviously lack in power. Any suggestions?
