Personally, music industry doesn't even need a currency, digital or traditional.
It's a matter of art and talent that makes it worthwhile for the public to listen to them.
But musicians need to eat too. With platforms like Youtube or others, they can earn revenue and I think these are enough as a tool.
If whenever the Digital Currencies became mainstream, these said platforms may adopt to the most accessible or accepted blockchain.

I also support the startup MUSIC. This system is for artists and musicians where they get the money immediately after listened to or purchased products. Buying their coin on the market activity, but decided to keep it for a long time.
This is really a good idea! If you can, I will definitely support my favorite creators.
