I think that the G20 will discuss more important topics than the cryptocurrency. Now there are more dangerous problems
Obviously there are more important issues than cryptocurrency, but every one of them boils down to money i.e. regular currency, and currently cryptocurrency is the biggest threat for regular bank-regulated currency. So at least some attention will go to cryptocurrency, as well.

Currently almost all of those countries have some stance on that topic and maybe after they discuss it, a more coordinated approach will evolve. If it is good for crypto - we shall have to wait and see.

If it is Japan calling for Crypto rules at the G20 Summit then maybe it can be some good news for cryptocurrencies as Japan is a supporter of cryptocurrencies and America might also back-up Japan. We might see some rules in the favour of cryptocurrencies that would boost the growth of the crypto-currency community. But some countries may speak against the favour of the use of cryptocurrencies but until it is the US, Japan or Eu speaking against cryptocurrency wouldn't have a negative effect on the community.

The G20 meeting is not focussed on Crypto currencies, but I think some countries will discuss this in private meetings. I know Japan wants to discuss Crypto currencies : https://cryptocurrencynews.com/daily-news/crypto-news/g20-summit-japan-crypto-money-laundering/

Japan plans to discuss “anti-money laundering steps and consumer protection.”

That is what our oppressors always tell the gullible public. "For consumer protection". But we already know that all regulation is always for "their" advantage, not ours.

What they should do is first solve all money laundering being done using US Dollars.

Regulation is not something we should fear, I should be welcomed as the first step towards mainstream adoption of bitcoin and other crypto currencies. I doubt it will be on the agenda for long, just someone saying we need to keep it in check and not allow these scammers to create icos and run away with our coins.

if its true that G20 meeting will discuss about cryptocurrency, i hope the result is not about how to ban or refuse the cryptocurrency or blockchain technology, but maybe every country can make a good regulation and good colaboration with conventional banks.

I hope there will be good results for bitcoin from the G20 meeting later. Good results from the meeting will boost the bitcoin price movement to rise so investors are starting to get back into the market to invest with bitcoin. We'll see how the results of this meeting and let's pray together all the many countries support bitcoin

Are those rules really for us or for their advantage? Plus are they enforceable?

I believe we have come to an age when technologies like Bitcoin is starting to find loopholes in the legal system, no matter how "well thought of" those rules are.

The cypherpunk movement, where Bitcoin was born from, is now having the upperhand. Wink

The G20 meeting this 2018 will be held in Buenos Aires is the first meeting to be held in Argentina and the whole South America. There are three key issues that they will tackle as part of their agenda and those are 1. Future of Work, 2. Infrastructure for development and lastly 3. Sustainable food future. With this given topic we cannot directly determine if they will discuss cryptocurrency.

Given these facts we can say that it is unlikely that they will discuss cryptocurrency in the meeting. If you are not convinced I will post the link of the article below.

I think the G20 will not discuss cryptocurrency. First of all, there are more important things to discuss, such as the North Korean nuclear bomb issue. Secondly, many countries are still watching Bitcoin. They will not be anxious and they will only observe it for longer. Know that they find the right method and timing.
