I am happy that even people from the world of sports, athletes are starting to appreciate altcoins, bitcoin i hope it will be an example and that many will follow him even from other sports too, mass adoption is near the corner
I don't think that many would follow him. Although we like what he did, there will be sports athletes that won't do the same as he did.

They don't have the same take with taking risks and that's the reason that others might not follow him. But to us, what he did is very welcoming and a wise decision.

Okung is obviously a smart guy, if he doesn’t spend that portion of his salary then he will be even more wealthy when he retires. I saw his tweet declaring this, nice little advertisement for BTC to the average guy on the street.

Mass adoption is coming  Tongue.

After tweeting his demand to be paid in BTC back in May 2019, Russell Okung of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers becomes the first athlete from any major North-American sports league to be paid in Bitcoin

"Money is more than currency; it's power," Okung, 32, said in a statement. "The way money is handled from creation to dissemination is part of that power. Getting paid in Bitcoin is the 1st step of opting out of the corrupt, manipulated economy we all inhabit."

Okung’s $13 million annual salary is being split fifty-fifty between the bitcoin cryptocurrency and fiat (bank-based currency).

The price of BTC has risen some 273% since Okung’s original Tweet!
