Anyone holds NFT arts, I am just curious. I just wanted to know why people are getting crazy to get whitelisted from different NFT arts. There are serveral NFT arts now asking people to  invite people in their telegram, tweet their Twitter post in exchange of getting whitelisted?

Now what is the point of getting whitelisted?

1. After you get whitelisted, are you minting their coin for Free? meaning its like a bounty. OR after you get whitelisted, you will need to spend crypto to buy their NFT art?
It depends on the project, some give it away for free, and some require us to buy it. Why do people go crazy wanting to get whitelisted, because usually the price of NFT will go up several times, because the supply is very limited.

that's a part of marketing trick to bring more followers to follow or like the NFTart. As far as i know that when you can bring more people to follow you and that will be a good thing for the project. It will be also increasing the popularity of platform. This means it can attract so many big parties to come in. It's all about the creator's effort to bring the hype to the his art even if that was a bad art. That's why when you wanna get whitelisted and you must help them to spread the news related to the such art.
Now what is the point of getting whitelisted?
Increasing the engagement to the social community. More people retweeting or shouting your project means popularity rating for your project.

It's not free and totally depends with the creator of the art.

Its like the same with tokens. Only those whitelisted are gonna have a chance to mint their nft. Ive tried to mint sometimes when I am not whitelisted and thats really not working. It seems they only set wallets for those who are whitelisted. Sometime they allow you to mint for free and only needed to pay for the gas fee.
