NFTs are huge right now. I own a few myself and have really enjoyed the experience and the communities behind them. It’s great how positive and supportive everyone is. I’d love a place to discuss my Stoner Cats and Pudgy Penguins. No matter how useless NFTs seem, the infrastructure is growing quickly and I don’t think it will be much longer before a truly useful and sought after NFT collection is released.

The construction of NFT is a mapping of the real world, and the blockchain technology is mapped to the real world, so that everyone can have their own NFT and confirm their rights and uniqueness.

As I've expressed before, I'm more in line with this kind of thought. Yes NFT are talked a lot at the moment, but it's mostly due to the "quick money" that one could take out of it and thus the discussions that generally are created from it are mostly that - attempts to turn a quick profit and carry on repeating the same recipe. Once that has "died off" (assuming that it will), and the purpose of NFT's comes back to light perhaps then we'll have much more discussions here in the forum that would justify creating a separated section for it. Truth is at the moment there isn't such demand - and we can't give the luxury to create threads just because a certain subject is generating "heat" outside here ...

Vast majority of NFT related projects are indeed crap and money grabs, that are only using NFT part as a gimmick to attract naive and greedy investors, but I think that NFTs are here to stay, and we are going to see some more serious applications in the years to come. One of the industries that can really profit from it is gaming and while up until now we mostly have some crappy browser based games, soon enough we are gonna get fully fledged AAA games with NFT implemented as an important part of the game and not just a catchphrase to lure investors. Beside that, there are some other ways in which NFTs could be useful, @nullius made couple of posts about that.

With that being said, I think that its way too early for a separate NFT child board. It's far better to see how those things develop here on bitcointalk and if there is enough interest, before making another child board.

Everything related to cryptos other than bitcoin should be posted in the altcoin discussion board because NFT is also a shit like other previous hyped one, if you dont want your thread to be buried then better post in altcoin service discussion which is free of spam.

Not only that, but from what I've seen the NFT craze is starting to look as insane as the ICO one--and if I'm not mistaken, there were requests a couple of years ago to add an ICO subsection which fell on the perpetually deaf ear of Theymos.  Not that I'm criticizing him for that; if I were in his position I would have ignored it as well and definitely wouldn't give an NFT section a nanosecond of consideration.

As others have said, if you've got anything to say about NFTs, just post it in one of the altcoin sections since they're all linked to one of the coins that supports them.  Frankly, if a subsection were made for them it'd probably be dead within a year or less (or however long it takes for people to realize they're blowing their money on crap).

I disagree with you here. If Bitcoin is an orange, all other fruit aren't. The orange has its own board. Your apples and pineapples are supposed to go in the appropriate category intended for all other fruit (alts), and that is the altcoin board. Unfortunately, there are too many alternative fruit, and you can't have a separate section for each and every one of them. Only if one fruit becomes too dominant and manages to take up much of the space, it's going to make sense to store it separately from the rest. Fruit pun intended. 

There cannot be a separate board for every niche tooic, especially if it's about altcoins, cause the forum is majorly Bitcoin oriented. The altcoin discussion board is the most appropriate section for posts related to NFTs as they are considered altcoins and your post would not be acted on by mods, except it is low value or for some other reason, if topics in relation to NFT becomes very popular there, then a push for a child board can be made.

yes, it is a meta question for a nft board topic with a few sub topics... could all be sub tpoical to altcoins but seems like the wrong place since alts and nfts are apples and pineapples.

If you have a good knowledge of NFT and it is interesting for crypto users, then you can open a thread in altcoins discussion. And of course try to share detailed information, because there are already a lot of threads on this topic. So you don't have to look for a specific board for this.

If you are looking for NFT board, this forum got none for now due to inadequate NFT threads, but if you want to know more about NFTs, there is a thread on altcoin discussion that will really help you out.

btc4peace is asking a forum-related question about where to post his NFT threads. I think it does belong to Meta as he is also indirectly trying to say that a new section for NFT's should be considered. He can't ask this in the altcoin discussion board because his question would quickly be turned into a spam fast with members repeating the same old same old. 

I think you have answered yourself mate - most users in this forum are mainly focused on bitcoin related themes hence the need for other subjects that aren't related to it doesn't have the same amount of dedication/support. Plus, I do also believe that the subject fits rather well on the Altcoin section (as others have said).
I don't know the work that would have to be involved in creating a new section right here (and "hiring" a moderator for it perhaps) but I'm sure that this decision is always based off in the amount of activity that it may generate (based on the fact if there is already a great amount of discussion for it to be moved there). And the fact is, as far as I'm aware and using the previous threads linked by mk4, there isn't close to such a huge amount of discussion here to make it worth setting up a dedicated section for it (at least from what I can see).

Now you might also have a counter argument - "Of course there isn't because there isn't a centralized discussion for it" - and I tend to disagree with this point of view simply because if there was such a common interest in it topics would be popping up left and right and discussions would be generated at a far much higher rate that they are currently being made. I've managed to find some similar thread asking for the same thing, you can read up about more discussions regarding this theme here[1] and here[2]. I assume you'd might end up with the same results even if we had an Ethereum-specific board. It's simply the fact that most people here are just Bitcoiners. If you really want to talk about Ethereum, you're probably better off by posting in Reddit r/Ethereum.

A new ethereum sub board would be nice honestly (with nft being sub section). I have some post ideas but since there is no ethereum sub, i would have to post it in altcoin discussion. Very few bother to read there lol

I guess you mean a board, no board for NFT here, this doesn't belong to Meta as well so you better moved this onto the Altcoins Discussion board. As far as I know there are already tons of topics regarding NFT and be sure to utilize the use of the search feature and you can find more topics about it.

I have some ideas and questions about NFT erc721 development and cargo + opensea integration.  Do we have a topic for this or am i shunned to ethereumORG 😜
