Odds: 1.60 on Betfair (American odds -166).

Very nice odds, all serious predictions from experienced traders predict a price between 6.5k to 8.5k.

That's free money for me. I bet 3 digits on this.

Best of luck.

It was nice bet. I've never met before, I've been met, I would definitely bet on this. I think the 1.60 odds is very good for this range.

1.6 odds on this is excellent in my opinion. Bitcoin has actually been ranging roughly between $5,000 to $10,000 for the better part of a year now, there isn't any major reason why it should shoot up or down in sight.

Even though the odds have currently dropped slightly, I would still say it's a decent bet. Logically the odds will start going down naturally since we're getting closer to the expiration date.

Seriously tempted to put a huge stack on this bet, as I really cannot see it losing. I'll open up a highly leveraged long and short at the same time just to hedge my bet.
You can bet on this website www.easysportbet.co.uk that's where I placed the bet. It's in fiat though. Odds are still at 1.40 right now. It's still worth it. Odds are still quite high because BTC has a history of quick price fluctuation especially in December but don't think it will be the case here.

Just tried to register for this site to see what the odds are on now. Seems pretty certain that it's going to be between this range unless something drastic occurs.

However, it seems like you have to deposit 500 EUR minimum in order to use the platform—definitely not a 1-minute process like the site initial claims.

What are the odds on now?

This was something else you found here and nice job you will be winning your bet in a couple of hours
I seen some similar markets like this on Fairlay but I am not familiar with using this site so I did not make a bet
Again very nice find for you and enjoy your winnings

Less than 24 hours left to collect your prize, or what is the time zone for your bet?

I thought it was a great bet at the time and still think it is a great bet today. In fact you were in such margins of safety considering right now the prize is basically right in the middle of 5k and 10k. Even with your prediction of 20% move, it will STILL be within 5k to 10k.

Well done;)

Very nice odds, all serious predictions from experienced traders predict a price between 6.5k to 8.5k.
I have no intention to bet on price prediction but what those experienced traders predict seems will come true. The current price was about $7,2xx and it moved down slowly. I am pretty sure that the price won't move very significant today. So, it is likely you have a good chance to win. However, don't claim to win too early, just wait till the end of the day.  Grin

From: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

The chart showed the price moved slowly between $7,3xx - $7,2xx on December 31. (from 00.00 to 18.00)

Was down to 1.08 and now it's back up 1.15 following the sudden move down to 6.5k area. Not surprised by the move so this was to be expected when it comes to betting odds as well.

Now I am curious, since I predict another sudden move to 8k in the next seven days, how will the odds react... as we know Bitcoin price has historical patterns of gaining 20% in one day, that could be fun  Smiley

I think even with all the predictions it was a surprise for us to see the price so stable,,, definitely agree. But for me 1.15 odds now is too low to risk. Whoever took 1.60 was very good odds. I would not say free money ever in any game in any condition, knowing how fast Bitcoin can move, but looking good for all of you guys, well done.

Available @ 1.15 now.

Pretty much a lock at this stage  Smiley I must say I have been surprised at the very stable price last two weeks.

Since I posted this thread (mid-November) there was a big move down to 6.5k area (from 8.5k) but since the resistance at 6.4k is very clear and super strong, this bet is now a lock, even at 1.15 I wouldn't mind betting additional big amounts on it (just added a 3 figures stake). Don't think BTC price will move much anyway before mid-January. Consider this bet to be a winner.

That literally does seem like free money, bitcoin can react very strangely though when you least expect it to. I do think the OP will win his bet but I don’t like this type of market so leave me out.

Smiley

I wouldn't suggest to bet now at 1.26, the possible return may not be worth it. Still think the bet wins of course but at 1.60 it was a much better investment, I was so convinced it would hit at 1.60 mainly because all the charts I use predict a price between 6.5k to 8k to end the year.
Will bump this again in two weeks.

Dropping to @ 1.26 right now.

The fact that the price is barely moving around the 7.5k area makes the market believe Bitcoin price will definitely end in the 5k-10k.

Quite ideal situation for me as it is exactly in the middle of the bracket.  Tongue

With now 28 days to go, the only risk I see is a price below 5k but it still looks very unlikely at the point. Because of the 6.4k resistance which is strong this year but should not hold as the halving comes (yes Bitcoin will gets close to 5k when halving comes, that's an unpopular opinion but facts say so).

ABC correction still shows a very bearish market that's why I am not concerned by a 10k price for the end of the year, just not happening with 28 days only to go. Will bump in 2 weeks as the bet should be almost a lock by then.  Kiss

definitely agree 1.6 is value for the 5k - 10k range. Nice to see betfair offering markets for this as it will help giving BTC exposure among punters.
Yes it is a nice bet. Odds are now 1.33 as I type this.

OP, I believe you should now be concerned because you have a high risk of losing your bet, the current price is $7444 and yesterday the price reached $7600, according to reviews I've seen on some bitcoin news sites:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/crypto-markets-are-turning-green-bitcoin-recovers-above-7-500

the price can go up a lot if it breaks the $8100, as i said, these analysts are unreliable, when they make a prediction always it happens the opposite they say.
I just need the price to end in the 5000-10,000 bracket, it's a large range and at this point it's still looking very good.
Not sure why you seem to be concerned, as 10k is still very far away.
My fractal does show a recovery to 8k-9k but not above that, and 9k not before early 2020 anyway.
Thanks for your opinion though.

I don't use Betfair and if I understand correctly:

On Betfair site are betting on what will be the bitcoin price on December 31st?

Predicting the price of bitcoin is very difficult and if Betfair is offering this opportunity to bet on what the bitcoin price will be by on December 31st, then Betfair should offer an odd of at least 2.20. This would be more rewarding since predicting the bitcoin price is very difficult, of course I also agree that every single day the value of the odd should be reducing.

Very nice odds, all serious predictions from experienced traders predict a price between 6.5k to 8.5k.

That's free money for me. I bet 3 digits on this.

the price is at $7200, I believe it is not free money because there is a high risk of falling below $6500 before December 31, and don't believe these " experienced traders " because they always fail their predictions

It is a fun bet but Bitcoin price is truly unpredictable. The guys at betfair probably have done their homework and maybe the price can be higher than 10k on December 31 otherwise they would be giving away free money at odd 1.45 that means it is a 45% return on investment and is not a small amount.

Looks like no one dared to tail but the odds dropped to circa 1.45 at the time of this post.

Looking good, not a lock of course but I used a fractal predicting a price around 7k for December 31. We are five weeks away from a potential (likely payout).

Odds still decent at 1.45 in my opinion.
