Could someone help me setup multi algo switching on zpool please? It doesn't work automatically, all the servers are alive when mining so it always mines the one with priority 0.
Thanks.

Thank very much for this test. I am new to mining and trying to figure out which pool is the most profitable.

I have been thinking of performing similar test however I do not have means to do all pools at the same time.

Now I have to figure out between Awesome Miner and MultiPoolMiner or any other miner.

Once again
Thanks

If there's some donations, then i don't mind, other then that, it was pretty time consuming conducting this test because I had to make sure all pools had equal amount of uptime.

Aside from testing, would you still say that Zpool seems to be the most profitable even now months later with prices adjusted from the inrush of newbies, as well as new ASIC miners hitting the market?

Or maybe the other way to phrase this is, between the higher two, would you still be choosing Zpool.ca over MPH?

As a plus to what you said anyone can do this as a personal test.
Agreed.  So that's what I did.  I have two GTX960 cards of the same make, and after making sure that the core and memory clocks were the same, set one to work on Nicehash and the other on zpool.

My setup was using NemosMiner, and I had customized each pool to my liking (select algorithms, minimum mining duration) and leaving it to NemosMiner so neither of the pools got to pick the algorithms for me.  Your mileage will definitely vary.

I wasn't as scientific as pikachuy, and went by the total unpaid amount on both pools as opposed to waiting for an actual payout, and recorded the amount earned over four days.  That was enough to show zpool at 10% higher in terms of unpaid amount.  It would actually go back and forth between the two some days; NH earning more during the day and zpool more at night.  Anyway, I believe zpool pays you precisely the indicated amount (fees taken off the front end) whereas Nicehash takes it on the back end which would result in 4% less (I use an external wallet) of a payout from the value shown.  So net to me should be approx 14.5% higher with zpool.

Anyway, four days was enough for me and I moved the rest of my GPUs over to zpool.  Zpool also pays out at lower earnings (weekly at 1.5 mBTC, vs 10 mBTC for NH).  Plus, with zpool being in Canada and Nicehash in Slovenia(?), the pool's profits (including the mysterious 20%?) are a little closer to home.

Oh yeah, I elected to be paid out in BTC.  Getting paid in other coins on zpool involves an additional exchange or something and would most likely reduce earnings.  I think that's what was said in the many pages of the zpool thread.  Please fact check at your own discretion--I'm just some dude on the Internet.

If you click on one of the preset settings like nicehash, zpool, or miningpoolhub, it auto plugs the lines for you. It all works the same way as previously mentioned.

Ok, thank you very much.
I will try it once I have a baikal in my hands

pikachuy,
what settings did you use for your baikal to change automatically algo on zpool based on profit?

I read the info on zpool but it kind of got me head aches

It's automatically done in the Baikal settings page, all you need to do is delete the current pools, and click on zpool button and it automatically add all the pools of the aglo for you.

Thanks for the reply.
But I guess I'll have to have priority "0" for the zpool algos inside baikal in order for it to be able to automatically switch, no?

They automatically set the priority for you, but if you want multiple pools and you want zpool has first priority, then yes, it'll start with priority "0" and up. So if you have like 10 pools and you want the 10th pool to be last priority, then that would end with priority "9", since the first priority starts with "0"

Hope that makes sense.

What I was asking was:

let's say for example that for zpool there are 3 algos.
so that means 3 lines to complete each ( url - user - algo - pass - priority )
to each one of the 3 lines I have to set the priority as "0" in order for the miner to know to autoswitch inside the same pool.
Right?

Yes, you will need to set 3 lines.

Line 1....Priority 0
Line 2....Priority 1
Line 3....Priority 2
etc.

Zpool will do the auto-switch for you by connecting and disconnecting the most/least profit. So if algo 1 has priority 0, and algo 2 has priority 1 and is the most profit at the time, then Zpool will not let you connect to line 1, so since line 1 can't connect, it'll try line 2 as a back up, and it repeats it self. That's how it auto-profit/switch for you, by disconnecting all the least profit at the time and only allowing you to connect the most profit at the time. It goes down the list like a fail-safe backup pool. That is where the Priority 0,1,2,3, and etc goes in effect, it gives it an order of which fail-safe pool to try next.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks.

Weird.
As far as I can remember on mininghubpool you had to put all the algos on priority 0 in order for the miner to know the auto-switching part but this was a while ago.

What about nicehash? Does it have something like this auto-switching stuff special settings?

When you use the price trigger on nicehash,  what is the unit?   The example given in the help page  has 'p=4.0'.  what is 4.0 means?  is it means mbtc per MHs?

Thanks

What is nicehash.com price trigger?  I googled it, didn't find anything.

Thanks,

Your welcome. nicehash.com Price trigger means that if it meets a certain price, then it'll automatically switch to nicehash pool, because buyers are paying more than normal. You can read more about it here: https://www.nicehash.com/help/can-you-mine-only-when-the-price-is-attractive-enough

pikachuy, i recommend you to add the percentage stats to the table to expose the results more explicitly.
Also would be interesting to see the amount remaining in each pool's internal wallet.

Btw, like the experiment you did

I'm not sure how to do those stats percentage you are talking about, if you have a jpeg, then I can upload it to the original post.

Also, the remaining balances are already added onto the un-cashable line. So what you see is what you get.

Strange comparison, according to the table for payments via NiceHash you have taken into account only 6 days (8/19 - 8/25), while Zpool 9 days (8/19 - 8/28) and 3 payment.
It is also not clear why you did not publish the results on Friday (9/01) when Nicehash pays? You would have eventually happened the same data (9 deys).

NiceHash: 0,0263393 / 6 days = ~ 0.0043 / day
Zpool: 0,03225614 / 9 days = ~ 0.0035 / day

Or I not correctly think?

Even if you did not have enough amount to output, this does not mean that, the coins are lost, they will be in any case paid.

All test were stopped at the same time. The reason why you saw last payment for Nicehash on Friday is because that is the date of when the payout meets the minimum threshold for external wallets.

Zpool payouts are on Sundays for leftover balances, that does not mean that it was mining all the way till Sunday. As I mention, all test were stopped at the same time once Nicehash paid out to external wallet.

Posting results on Friday would not be the same data, because Zpool still has to process/exchange their coins. Nicehash pays PPS, which is why their BTC earn is instant.

just wondering can you tell if mph miner did switch to quark or qubit or it was mining x11 only, you can see history.

I did see it mining on qubit, not sure about quark, because didn't check all the time.

Yeah, not really a fair comparison.  You should at least have used the local NiceHash wallet so that there would be daily payouts.

This is as fair as it gets, trust me. My goal was to find out which one is the most profitable for my Baikals and to share my results.

Also, it wouldnt matter if it was external wallet or local Nicehash wallet. There's about a $25 difference between nicehash and zpool in a week of mining, so you are saying by not using a local wallet, there would be $25 worth of nicehash fee's? If so, ouch!

prohashing.com only does x11 for the Baikals, it's not really a multi algorithm pool.

What are the results? The week has passed. I'm really curious.

One of the power supplies got faulty so it ruined my test, since all did not have equal uptime. Waiting on a replacement before I can re-test again.

P.S. This is one of those times I wished I order extra parts as a back up...

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry to hear that.  can you post earnings up to the failure ?

It's hard to pinpoint when it actually failed, since I was away for the weekend and was going to finalize this test and calculate how much BTC each site gave to each of the wallets. That's when I noticed that one of them wasn't running, so the data would be irrelevant.

Also, does anybody know how to configure a Baikal miner for Nicehash? I followed this link: https://www.nicehash.com/?p=news&id=114
but it stays on mining just 1 algorithm. Any ideas?

That is how it works, it mines the most profitable algorithm at that time, it does not mine all the algorithm's at the same time.

I think you should compare total earnings, not withdraws since each pool has different minimum withdraw threshold.  In any case, you are doing a great service to all new miners,  your effort is highly appreciated.

I am doing total earnings, which was why I stated: "At the end of the 7th day (or longer duration if needed), I will post the final BTC wallet balance that it made from each site."

Worst case, if it didn't meet the minimum withdraw threshold, then will just need to wait on Sunday because that is when they usually withdraw any remaining small balances or I'll just manually withdraw after testing period is done.

I was planning to do that but miningpoolhub.com doesn't have a public stats page, also, posting daily results wouldn't be efficient since each of them have their minimum threshold for BTC auto-exchange/withdrawal. So some days, it might be 0 BTC.

I have mined on all 3 of those pools with my Baikal Giant and I had the most payout with Nicehash over the same time period.

But did you mine all 3 at the exact same time simultaneously? That is the key here, because if you mined each of those 3 at different time frames even though if they are for the same duration amount, the price varies from day to day.

Thanks for doing this experiment.  In my mind I would think nicehash because you are switching directly to the most profitable coin and getting BTC credited immediately whereas the other two you have to wait for the alt coin to mature and then you have to wait for the exchange and we know as that happens the price changes.  It may change for better or it may get worse who knows.  Of course nicehash also charges a big fat 3% too.

The competition would be around zpool and miningpoolhub and I think zpool would have the better results.
Nicehash is just attracting a lot of beginners to their pools but have larger fees.

I think if the general overall price of all alts are rising you will do better on zpool or mph, but if they are dropping you would do better on nicehash since the multipools are really just chasing the high prices.  It's just a theory and lord knows I've been wrong many times before but I'm looking forward to the results.

exciting, I don't know what's Baikal Giant+, if it can mine BTC directly, it would better to add another one to mine BTC and compare the results.

Baikal Giant+ is a multi-algorithm miner, here is their website: http://www.baikalminer.com/product06.php

It mines Quark, Qubit, x11, x13, x14, x15 algorithm.

Their main selling point is it can mine multiple algorithms and choose the highest profit at the time. That is why I am putting those 3 sites to the test, to see which auto-profiting site works best. I am assuming whichever wins, we can determine that their auto-profiting will be superior than the others, but if they are close together in profits, then they will be equally comparable with a +-5% variable I'm guessing. But if 1 pool is drastically lower profits then the others, then we can come to a conclusion to stay away from that pool. LOL

Also, to mine BTC, you would need SHA-256 algorithm miner.

Well, I decided to do a test, once and for all to see which auto-profit switching site was best. I hear pros and cons of each site and wanted to see based on facts, which site gave higher profits regardless of what people say. At the end of the day, it's what ends up in my BTC wallet that matters.

So for this test, I bought 3 Baikal Giant+ 5 Baikal Giant+, and each will have its own BTC address so there won't be any mixed coins.

All of the test will be auto exchanged to BTC according to their site’s system to see which one does it better.

This test will be run all at the same time simultaneously, under the same network/internet, same location, same setup/ventilation, each with its own same HP server power supply, so there isn't much variable.

nicehash.com and miningpoolhub.com has Quark, Qubit, x11, x13, x15 for its auto profit switching, but zpool.ca also has x14 and was included in my test for completeness since it supports it.

This test will be done over a 7 day period, which should be enough I believe to show the results/outcome and a winner! At the end of the 7th day (or longer duration if needed), I will post the final BTC wallet balance that it made from each site.

So… 8/19/2017 is Day 1, and the suspense begins…

The following will be running:

Baikal #1 - Nicehash
Baikal #2 - Zpool
Baikal #3 - miningpoolhub
Baikal #4 - Nicehash custom pricing profit trigger + Zpool + Nicehash as backup
Baikal #5 - Nicehash custom pricing profit trigger + miningpoolhub + Nicehash as backup

Disclaimer: I am no way involved nor affiliated with nicehash.com, miningpoolhub.com, zpool.ca. Just a curious person that wants to help out the community =)

AND THE WINNER IS......
CLEARLY ZPOOL.CA
CLEAR LOSER IS NICEHASH.COM

Un-cashable means that it did not meet minimum amount for nicehash to withdrawal, so I added the amount manually

Conclusion: Even with all the talk about zpool.ca taking 20% or what not, for me, it still comes out on top, so that just proves that zpool is more profitable for multi-algo switching as you can see the final amount received in the BTC wallet.
