It's because this is the pinnacle of body building, to be crown Mr. Olympia. As we have seen names that is famous who held this title before. So I would say that Samson will also be as popular if he can maintain and defend his belt next year and the next.

I'm not familiar with Rubiel Mosquera though, as I'm a old body building fans way before, so I would say that my favorite Tom Platz. Maybe some of you are not familiar with him because his contemporaries is Arnold and other great body builder of the muscle beach era.
I don't like the idea of promoting open bodybuilding and rewarding its contestants with lots of money because open bodybuilding is very dangerous. People shouldn't be motivated to prepare and participate in open bodybuilding because this division with its participant and physique, automatically promotes a huge abuse of performance enhancing drugs. There is a reason why Chris Bumstead doesn't move from Classic to Open bodybuilding. The necessary dosages to compete in Open are very high compared to Classic bodybuilding. They take on test, hgh, insulin, peptides and what not.

I'm familiar with Tom Platz, he is a legend, known for his big legs but regarding to this, I prefer Jay Cutler, his famous leg flex moment is amazing.

Damn, Congratulations to him.
I have no idea about how they judge this sport but I am guessing the best cuts and the balance of their muscles. I have a classmate in grade school who does this now but of course, I cannot share his photo here. That's where I first saw the body of a bodybuilder who has legs the size of my body. It's scary and somehow amazing.
Sadly, they do not have betting lines for this sport, I think sports bookies should start adding one even though it's just an outright. One bet to win it all and they will probably get more audience by doing that.
This is a fun sport and it's quite amazing to see that people are actually turning up for this kind of competition. The way Dauda was able to win this competition was so surprising because I have tried to watch it several times to know what's actually wrong with other contestants that are more body build that him which keeps making me skeptical. I am a big fan of sport and sometimes I try to learn more about what the requirements of selecting winner for this kind of sport could be. Congratulations to him one more time and I hope to see more contestants next year because this is going to be more of fun.

What do people say about women? What a man can do, a woman can do it. This is a perfect example of it

Wow this is good. That means Africans are good in bodybuilding. But that statement of "what a man can do, a woman can also do it better" is just a mere statement. There many things that man can do which women can't do. Bodybuilding is an exercise that build the body muscles which a serious woman can also do. Naturally men are created to face hard work.and women are not to face hard work. And they do hard work when there is no man to help them.
But for the sport events. Women can perform some certain games very well.

Africans are naturally gifted when it comes to sports or athletics, that’s why many sports are dominated by people of color. The saying “what a man can do, a woman can do better” in my opinion can be interchangeable depending on the circumstances. We can’t do the same as the opposite sex in everything, there are differences in the physical strengths of a man and a woman, but what we lack in physical strength we have in emotional intelligence and empathy. These features are not key in sports and I guess that’s why female sports do not bring as much money as male sports.

I hold the Nigerian community of the forum in high regard, so anything that helps that country become famous for something positive, such as this sporting success, is welcome.

If you are shocked about men that have their bodies built this huge, how will they react if you are being shown the picture of a female Ms Olympia?

Woman with clear masculine characteristics. They have to inject a lot of testosterone and derivatives to be able to look like this.

Men are more even in the sports and other activities in the society. In those days when a woman.is found in the Army, everyone looked at her differently and treat her specially. Even till now women are few in the military or any other forces. Let's talk about gambling. Women that gamble are very few in the society but men are full every corner. Even the few that are gambling, hide themselves to gamble.

When I first came across this on social media when it was circulated, I was so shocked to see someone build their body this huge with all veins and muscle all out like this. I have seen people building body but I haven’t come across one so big like this. They are not fascinating to me though, I can’t build my body like this even if money is to be given.

This is the first time I’m also hearing of a sport like this, but I’m not surprised because during olympics we get to see more and more sports that are unknown before, they keep introducing new sports so I wasn’t that shocked to some extent.

Congratulations to him for the well deserved victory. With this, I feel we’ll be having more body builders competing to win in this competition since it’s now an international sport and they’ll definitely fight for that victory and recognition.

The picture above is the current Ms. Olympia. Her name is Andrea Shaw; she is from the USA. Andrea Shaw has won MS. Olympia for 5 good times since its beginning in 1980. On the other hand, Men Olympia competition started in 1965

This is a list of other winners that MS Olympia has produced. Check here

He seems to deserve it because his body looks like it has undergone rigorous training. I didn’t know that it has a prize like that, and it is definitely huge. I have not seen a body like his in the local center where I exercise, but some people are enormous but not as Olympian as him.

Congratulations to him because he has work a lot to achieve this greatest milestone of his life and we can imagine the discipline and determination behind the reason why his body packs has grown to this extent, however at first I never knew he was a Nigerian because it was on the media I normally saw people posting his pictures so I was thinking he is an American because Nigerians are not mostly known for such sports, so when I realized that he is a Nigerian I was very happy because this is a life changing for him and considering the dollar rate is a lot of money to take home with and possibly with the kind of body he has companies will be coming for his endorsement.

Achieve in the Mr.Olympia is not the easy one,he made his full effort to achieve the greatest target in his life time. The self goal can be achieved with the more determination and dedication in his target. If you are moved to earn money oriented at the middle of the struggle,it’s not possible to achieve this biggest target in his life.He is from the lesser economic based country,So this dollars wil help him a lot and he can change anything in his country.Let’s wait and see his move after winning the huge dollars because of his competition. It was happy to hear by his Nigeria citizen and this encourages the young people.

Before making the next move he needs to have a lot of rest and enjoy his money because what most people in his position will do after winning this trophy is to take a vacation of any country of his choice to relax for at least a month because Olympics is not a small game, however he has become a source of inspiration to so many youths who has hoped on becoming the Olympic champion some day to keep working hard, so actually a lot of people will certainly reach out to him for Mentorship because their is nothing as sweet as having a champion as your mentor because you are assured of also becoming a champion if you are dedicated.

Dauda won 2024 Mr Olympia, and go home with $600,000 which is equivalent to ₦900 millions in local currency. According to the news this is the highest reward given to an athlete in the body building sport history. The competition took place at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas in the United States in the weekend (12-10-2024). 15 athletes participated to the final and Samson Dauda won the final.
Samson Dauda
Have you seen a bodybuilder like this before?
It's strange that Samson Dauda caught more attention than Chris Bumstead, the guy who surpassed Hollywood actors on Instagram followers and conquered the attention of everyone who is interested in fitness.
$600K is the standard reward for the champion of Open Bodybuilding Contest in Mr Olympia, so, this year was not an exception in terms of reward. I also want to mention that reward for Chris Bumstead was $50K. It's strange that Chris Bumstead and Men's Physique is making bodybuilding popular in the world and yet, they are getting the least reward and open bodybuilding is awarded more. I think, that should change.

By the way, the biggest bodybuilder that I have seen is Rubiel Mosquera. No one has as big legs as him. Just google this name: Rubiel Mosquera.

Here we are talking about the elites in this sport not anyone. First, we must not forget that the participants in such competition have almost the same size and differ only in small details. Also, the previous champions who won this award before him look like him or more as I said before , this also does not mean that I want to underestimate him and the effort he made to reach this stage ,  contrary, I am also proud of him and I wish him every success.

Yes every bodybuilders look like him or more,  they look like monsters .
I'm sorry, but not all bodybuilders are like this. Some just focus on building some part of their body and staying healthy while they do it, not looking all monstrous like this as if they are preparing for war ahead of them, unless those who are already targeting for such competition are already targeting them. If not, my only reason for visiting the gym is to stay fit and healthy and not to appear very scary...

It's good you clarified this for him, Because that statement about generalizing the physique of every body builder to be like this fellow would be the wrong approach Indeed, I mean have you seen the females who also target such competition like this 😳? You would be blown away by the length and commitment they actually put that makes them totally different from others who just hit the gym to keep their body fit and I believe some crazy bodybuilder even go as far as using steroids injected into the body for muscle improvement.

Well, he was a able to achieve this due to the fact that he was consistent and he was definitely not training in Nigeria, to some people this might not really matter but it actually does, in Nigeria achieving this body type would be somewhat impossible. It's quite encouraging to know that a Nigerian can attain such an accomplishment at an international level. Most people are saying that they don't believe that he is Nigerian because of his physique, there are actually body builders in Nigeria but a lot of them don't have what it takes to qualify for this. congratulations to him.
Yeah
It takes a huge amount of time, hardwork and discipline to become a professional bodybuilder. Samson Dauda is a Nigerian-British, which explains a lot about how he was able to have this dream of being a professional bodybuilder. Nigeria does not have the right environment for this sort of thing, it would have been difficult to stay motivated if he was living in Nigeria. The good news is that his Nigerian genes did help him in achieving his muscular physique.

A long time ago, bodybuilding was associated with only hard work, diligence, and consistency in the gym. But now it is associated more with the potency of anabolic steroids bodybuilders can have access to. Many pharmaceutical firms are increasing the scope of research on drugs that can enhance performance and build muscles with minimal effort. That's why we are seeing uncommon body sizes these days.

It is expected that Samson Dauda will give back to his motherland. Bodybuilding as a sport can be developed through his support. His skills and experience will help build this important entertainment. He could partner with the government to build and equip training centers and also organize competitions where talents will be discovered and groomed.

Any ways there is a big chance that this Olympics is going to build and create a career, part in this body building line, and to see a Nigerian achieving this milestone is a great turmbs up to the entire country, because becoming a body builders champion is something that is not rampant and to say the winning is a global award makes the whole thing very exciting.

Hopefully this League get bigger recognition in the future and more money get allocated to the league also making this competition to become a spotting event and entering into champion award which will be more viewed and also features in online casinos for anyone to bet on their favorite builders, like those from Nigeria will definitely support Dauda for for the champion title.

That’s generally what they look like, so yeah I have seen a bodybuilder that looks like this before.
I've seen body builders with alot more fierce-looking body/or structure and each time, I'm always intrigued by how fascinating it looks. But then, I also learnt that most of these curves and figures are natural, while some aren't achieved unless a good amount of steroid and other growing aids are used.
That being said, I dunno how these builders get their credits, so I'd like to ask - do they allow for artificial enhancement?
I often see bodybuilders and fitness trainers advertising protein supplements and creatine on their socials to build muscle. I’m not sure steroids use in acceptable in professional body building though  it’s hard sometimes to believe that some body builders are natural.

I don't get at all why this thread belongs to gambling if we can't bet on Mr. Olimpia.

But it's nice to see someone of Nigeria winning the contest, but for me the event is rigged, they could use some metris like body fat, or total muscle mass to take the decision, but instead of that there is a judge who decides who looks better, and that isn't fair at all, because we all have different tastes, and the fact that the judges choose him as Mr. Olimpia doesn't mean he has a better body than the other competitors.

Yea, I think you are very correct because I keep asking myself what could be the measures for choosing who is to be the Mr Olympia. The other opponents to me, have good body and bigger muscles compared to him and I'm still surprised how he was able to become the number one. This is crazy honestly but there is nothing we can do about that since we don't really know the actual measures for the winner. Maybe the other opponents can work hard more to make sure that they are well fit for this competition again by next year. Maybe I will take my time to check some of the features the judges are looking for to determine who is to win the competition.

No doubt he looks incredible though, such a powerful physique. Pure dedication and countless hours in the gym, plus a strict diet. Congratulations to him, he deserves the plaudits he is getting.
Meanwhile, congratulations to the young man and his award. I can imagine how tough it feels to lift 120 pounds to breaking point. The consistency, the prowess and dedication is top notch. I'm also proud that once upon a time, an african - a Nigerian precisely -- takes lead on athletics and sports.

Exactly I agreed with some of the comments so far and another question came to me again, will this guy marry and live with his wife and family members? Mostly, the time of intimacy how will the woman feel? Will she be afraid or it will be like a normal combat? When seen the physique of the man. Frankly speaking I have not seen a Nigeria with this physique.
Your question is a funny one but I understand there is a lot of misconceptions about professional bodybuilding. Bodybuilders do have a life outside the gym. They live regular lives like everyone else. Ronnie Coleman was a policeman at the time when he won Mr Olympia. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a movie star in Hollywood. I believe the ladies were not scared of them. You should visit your local gym more often, I’m sure you can find someone who is big on bodybuilding there.

They are also humans who can feel the need of their counterparts. And on this regard, they can always accept the shortcomings or other issues brought by the physique. We can't say that these people are extra special as they can also live normal lives.

As a Nigerian I would say that I'm really proud of his achievement, this is the first time that a Nigerian actually won Mr Olympia. This means that we are elevating in a lot of areas in the country including body building. Winning this at an international level isn't an easy thing to achieve, body building takes time, discipline and consistency and competing for Mr Olympia is something that's on a whole different level. Congrats to Samson dauda on this remarkable achievement, Nigeria is a great country and we pray for more achievements from it's Citizens.

The person who will indeed pursue this sports requires strong determination to continue this kind of body training. This will take years and years being on this activity and with such dedication needs hard work and persistence to withstand the progressive resistance exercise involved in this rigorous activity. You won't stay long on this if you have no strong determination to sustain this tedious sports.

Only 1 online bookmaker online offered Mr Olympia betting this year

It's kind of cool to talk about the competition, because it would be a very cool competition to place bets on, every year there's a lot of anticipation as to who will win, who will be in the top 3, etc.
I've been following the event for a few years now and it still has a lot to grow. The event is only broadcast on pay-per-view and the organizers put a lot of rules in place, which really hurts the visibility of the event to the world

But some athletes like Cbum, even though he's not in the Open category (which is the only Mr. Olympia), have millions of followers who follow him in the competition
I think it's only a matter of time before the event starts to have more visibility in the bookmakers and next year we can ask our favorite companies to put the competition on their services (I'll ask DuelBits hehehe)

In terms of popularity though, we all known that it has been if I'm not mistaken, because of Arnold Schwarzenegger. And for those who are not aware of, there is a documentary/movie in the 70's titled "Pumping Iron" that really put body building in the mainstream.

And with the era of social media right now, like you mentioned Cbum, most of them are really well known already. That's why it's crazy that no online casino, whether fiat or crypto based are offering this for fans of body builder or just a regular gambler.

Yea, I believe it is a new competition and he is the first.
The first Mr Olympia was held in 1965 and there are other body building competitions available of which this is the most prestigious. It is not a new sport and this is certainly not the first winner.

Sim_card's statement is only understandable because people in this section are used to talking rubbish and getting paid for it. Arnold has grandchildren and we have to read that the Mr. Olympia is a new competition. As for the winner, I don't know why but I'm not very impressed. I guess we're used to seeing bodybuilders that look like some kind of non-human mutants, so I don't see anything special about this one.

I sure every country has bodybuilder with such big body and they are usually quite well known and have several social media accounts that allow everyone to see how their progress is progressing, in my country there are many bodybuilders that in Mr. Olympia 2024 yesterday there were several athletes from my country who participated.
I myself am someone who is quite fond of going to fitness centers or GYM and seeing people with big muscular bodies is common thing, but by the way there are some people I have heard they are quite amused when they see people with big and muscular bodies.

For Samson Dauda himself, congratulations on his victory and he is also the only athlete to win the Olympia also by public choice by taking home more additional prizes, last year it was won by Derek Lunsford but now he can only rank third and Hadi Choopan the winner in 2022 for the 2024 edition is in second place.

Do your research about bodybuilding and Mr Olympia. The competition has been going on for decades now, maybe for you it is a new event but it is very popular especially in the 80s and 90s. Even though bodybuilding has evolved in recent years, Bodybuilders from that time are still relevant to fitness and bodybuilding till this day.
I did and was not saying from research but from facts that I have not seen the competition but only seen the normal gyms, and if you check my last comment in the last paragraph, I said " research" meaning done some finding. But from your confidential saying of the dates, it as if you're born as if then. As for me, and I said I have not seen Mr. Competition so if you watched it the bravo to you. How the competition looks like. What are the activities in the competition. You can tell me some of the things happening in the competition before the winer emerge since you are a historical analyst of Mr. Olympia.
Like I said before I only know some of the famous guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler. Ronnie Coleman was reigning champion in the late 90s and early 2000s. Arnold Schwarzenegger goes back a little longer and was popular in bodybuilding circles in the 70s and 80s, even up to the 90s as his streak did not end until 1990. You can go on YouTube and watch videos of the competition, I believe there is a documentary on Ronnie Coleman, you could watch that as well.

I don't get at all why this thread belongs to gambling if we can't bet on Mr. Olimpia.
Gambling is an event of prediction and not you involved in the actions so Mr. Olympia can also be bet upon. You can choose your prefer bodybuilder and said he would win and another person disagree then betting has started. And it is a sport game so it can showing in the casino website as a live game for people to play. Though the game has not gotten a popularity because it is just a new competition coming the light of gambling. Even in the even arena, people place bet for whom they think would win.

Though from others and my personal research the game has been on facetime e years back but many have not noticed it. But now that social media and I term internet is very much active many games which have been hiding will come out. And also bodybuilding has level and not everyone that does that can come to the competition ground. Some of them re just doing it for body fitness and not for competition.

It's only Lee Haney  (1984-1991) and
Ronnie Coleman (1998-2005) who has managed to hold that position for eight years straight, while the other just held it for 6 years below and since Phil Heath (2011-2017) hold it for 7 years, every other winner has just hold that position for only a year and I guess Dauda might just hold it for a year too but we hope to see what happens by next competition. Congratulations to him anyways.

It's up to his competition though, Ronnie has dominated the scene and no one came close to him except Coleman who defeated him if I'm not mistaken. Same with 3d Phil Heath, he remains on top because he was a total freak, his body and his form and muscle are totally different as if it is carved and it shows not only symmetry but a 3d form.

So Hadi Choopan must improved if he wanted to take away the title from Dauda next year, or even Derek Lunsford the 2023 winner. Of course, Dauda will have to up the bar as well. Let's see next year, competition are very tight and when you are on top, everyone is going after you. But in any case, congrats to the first Nigeria born winner of Mr. Olympia.

From the qualifiers list, I saw the name of Derek Lunsford on the number 1 and
Samson Dauda was even on number 3, from the performance one would think that he would not win the title while watching the reply on YouTube but he did. If he doesn't raise he bar high by next competition, he might still lose the tile to Derek.

The winner of the Mr. Olympia tournament can be bet on decentralized platforms.

I am sure that over time, traditional online casinos will also pay attention to this sporting event. I am even a little surprised that this has not happened yet.

The athlete from Nigeria can only be congratulated! I was interested in the athletes declared for this tournament, and personally I had other favorites.

Samson Dauda's victory was a surprise for me. However, I am ready to admit that he is a very worthy athlete and he deserved his victory. His muscles look very impressive. I would also like to note his grace and artistic abilities.

Dauda has been in the body building scene for many years already, and he keeps on improving. If you look at this records, it's a long line of list, but most notably,

2022 IFBB Mr. Olympia – 6th
2023 IFBB Mr. Olympia – 3rd

And so in 2024, he is now the championship. Beating the Iranian Hadi Choopan, winner in 2022 and second place in 2023. Samson really goes to improved his position, however, next year, it might be the same bodybuilder who are going to compete in the top spot..

Hopefully though, there could be some crypto based gambling site that will let us bet or at least open up and list this sports for us to bet on them.

Better days are close
Yes every bodybuilders look like him or more,  they look like monsters .

Not every bodybuilder that looks like him there are levels of bodybuilding depending on what you want and your area of sports some that are not in any competition may not really train to look like him but those that contest for this Mr. Olympia always look at such because I have seen several pictures of them there are bodybuilder that train to be fit and also have a good body shape and a better posture so what they put on can easily give a nice look.
For me I don't really like the way this people that contest for this "Mr. Olympia looks, I think the name you gave to them is right they looks like a monster.

This is another good name to Nigeria congratulations to Samson Dauda on your new achievement as Mr. Olympia.

For Nigeria, this is a real success. And I want to believe that this country will win other prestigious competitions. As for the title of "Mr. Olympia", as far as I know, there are many different categories there now. For example, since 2018, the title of "People's Champion" has appeared there. This title is determined by the audience's vote. Samson Dauda himself, in my opinion, is quite harmoniously built and fully corresponds to his title. It is clear, that his muscles grew on anabolic steroids, because such muscles cannot be grown naturally. However, let's not forget that even anabolics do not guarantee muscle growth if you do persistent training. In general, this is a well-deserved victory.

I think you are imagining too much at this point, because marriage is a subjective individual thing and for that, anyone can decide to marry or not, and considering this guy profession, marriage will be the last thing on the list of his desires right now, and if he possible consider marriage the. His partner will have to agree with the conditions a d fine a away around the whole thing.

He is not the biggest body build in the world, and reason he is making the news is because of his winning recently which is highly commendable since several of the past building buildings competition never make this level of news.

Nigerians are now doing better in sports both in the popular ones and not well popular sports. For him to have won in this kind of sport then I must commend his effort before now.

I think this will be a good start for other bodybuilders who are willing to take a career through this part and an assurance that anything can be possible to anyone who is consistent in what they are doing. $600k may look small to some persons, while to others it's a huge win for them.

It is better to call him a Nigerian-born British bodybuilder. Nigerians would have had more champions like Samson Dauda in different sports if they had a culture of harnessing the country's talent. I will assume that Samson migrated to the UK, which is why he had the opportunity to access the right training staff and facilities. He is a Nigerian nurtured by the British.  The same thing would be said about Anthony Joshua and Isreal Adesanya. Congratulations to the champion, Nigeria, the United Kingdom and Africa.

All this includes dedication and sacrifice just imagine such body type with muscles everywhere failed to win? I don’t know how he competed but definitely other opponents look similar if not body type same strength and coming outstanding needs to be appreciated. The prize is worth the stress, I’m always a fan of such sports activity I guess I’m just seeing this now because I stopped watching for sometime now.

It was really a big win for him. Like you said, the competitors were equally big in muscles and size but Dauda Samson is really big with very massive muscles. I was thinking the pictures were photoshopped not until I went to watch the video on YouTube, men it is really a big show of muscled men there.

He came out as the Olympia with $600,000 and the next behind him with $250,000. This is really big money. He has his wife as a big factor behind his success in training and encouragement.

I think Dauda Samson appears to me as someone who is humble despite his size. From his interview in YouTube, he said "he came all the way from Nigeria to Uk and he said lots of people doubted him but he is here now as the Olympia"

I think the lesson from his story is that we should not lose faith in ourselves because he said he made it against all odds.

Regarding the prize of US$ 600.000 I think it is big for the Mr Olympia competition, considering that the 2023 prize with a total of US$ 750.000 is only a difference of US$ 150.000, the winner only takes a prize of US$ 400.000, Meanwhile, for the Mr Olympia competition this time, Samson Dauda himself won the prize with a value of US$ 600.000. For me, that is an extraordinary prize, especially when exchanged for Nigerian currency.

If the year 2023 winner took home with $750,000 then that should be the highest winning in the game of bodybuilding and not this year's competition but the people are saying this year's competition has the highest price in the history of bodybuilding.

The price too is a very much deserving one for the kind of work and energy been put into such competition to achieve the results that has earned him such, congrats again to him.

This is the first time I am hearing such sport in the international competition. Though I have been seen it in gym centres and local competition and not in the international competition. And I have not seen a Nigerian build himself to this level that full with body muscles.

Have you seen a bodybuilder like this before?

The competition is very old. Although I’m not a fan of body builders, I’m very familiar with the Mr Olympia competition, previous record holders like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronnie Coleman were the very first people and probably the only names I know in Body Building. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a seven time Mr Olympia champion before transitioning to Hollywood, his physique earned him action roles in movies like Terminator franchise e.t.c. There is also a dark side to body building, I don’t fancy the sport because of the high risk of injury to the body. Ronnie is in a wheelchair because of the squats he did when he was in his prime. Anyway, congratulations to Samuel Dauda for bringing the award home to Nigeria.

Nigerian Born BodyBuilder (Samson Dauda) Won Mr. Olympia In USA.
In my opinion, the Mr Olympia title won by Samson Dauda is a matter of pride and honor for him and the Nigerian country, because this is the first of Nigerian descent to win this prestigious competition held in the US, What's more, he can compete and beat famous bodybuilders like Hadi and Derek. I don't think it's easy to reach this pinnacle of victory, considering that the two bodybuilding opponents in the competition were the best athletes of all time by winning various competitions held, Dauda set a new record in the world of bodybuilding.

I have also watched the athletes shows in the TV but I have never find it interesting fun to follow up the activity.

But though if I paraventurely come across one of its shows in the TV, I am always contemplating on how these athletes body builders could gather such passels of muscles.

When I watched the program news where this Dauda was announced the 2024 Olympia winner, I was of no doubt that he could merit the trophy. He was indeed a a well deserved of the winning following the prize. Congratulations to him.

It’s nice to see how ripped the winner for this year Mr. Olympia. The competition of the current tournament is pretty tough since no one can manage to defend the title after the legacy of Phil Heath ended.

Seeing the prize pool seems low considering how tough the preparation of this sports just to come up with that kind of body build. I can’t imagine the dedication put in to it on both diet and training just to get ripped.

I hope they will find more sponsors to boos t the prize even to a million since this is the most prestigious event for body building category.

Congratulations to Samson Dauda for this victorious outing and to every one Nigerians out there. It is a thing of joy to see that  Nigerians are really doing fine in sports. I actually doubted this news when I first saw it on twitter, I actually thought it was a post of mistaken nationality and ignored to further do a research on it because I was very sure Nigerians do not really fancy competition of such nature but after seeing this, my doubt were  cleared and to be frank it is worth celebrating because it is not an easy task clinching that prize.

He must have had a long time building up and bracing for the competition. This would serve as inspiration to other young sportsmen who think as a result of their background or origin, can not be able to make it out there to clinching trophies but with dedication and consistency, they could make their way to the top of the game and possibly winning trophies if they are consistent are focused.

The first Mr Olympia was held in 1965 and there are other body building competitions available of which this is the most prestigious. It is not a new sport and this is certainly not the first winner.

Agreed this is not the first time that Mr Olympia was conducted. Infact Arnold Schwarzenegger was the winner of this competition in a row from 1970 to 1975. Due to social media this body building competition is getting more coverage than it used to get earlier. This who are into body building will be aware of it.

Although I did not watch the championship, I was happy when I saw news of it first from the WhatsApp status of a friend and online that Samson Dauda won 2024 Mr. Olympia contest and he is a Nigerian. A lot of bad things have been said about Nigerians but this is one positive thing that people should highlight.

It shows that if someone is committed, he can achieve any goal that has been set especially in this case of body building where you have to engage in constant resistance exercise just to build, control and develop the muscles and you have to take a particular diet or nutrition. Over time, body building has been dominated by people of other races but he has created history to his race. Kudos to him.

Others might consider this as a sports per se, but still you need to work really hard to sculpt your body to win the Mr. Olympia. Same here I haven't follow the sports that much, so it's very interesting to see that a Nigerian born athlete has won.

And yes, it takes a lot of commitment as I have said and dedication because you really have to grind day in and day out and your nutrition is spot on, you know how much protein you need to take in order to built this kind of body. And probably his genes too has played big in the role of making his body stand out from the rest of the competition.

body building have been a thing for ages and I've watched a lot of thier show off and competition though it's definitely not my kind of thing because of the body structure that's almost like that of a monster. The after effect of taking body building as a full time career when you've approached old age is another issue because for most of the athlete, they spend the later age of thier life in pains and suffering. It usually get at me when we have a lot of international athletes doing so well in different sports in the international stage representing other countries while we sit back and try to affiliate them to our nation after they've attained the glory. He didn't even represent Nigeria in the first place in the body building contest. The glory all goes to the UK while we just rant on socal media that he's a Nigerian breed.

Yea, I believe it is a new competition and he is the first.
The first Mr Olympia was held in 1965 and there are other body building competitions available of which this is the most prestigious. It is not a new sport and this is certainly not the first winner.

The competition has been getting more popularity in the recent years especially with the introduction of social media which has been building up the gym and fitness community.

- Jay -
This is definitely not the first Mr. Olympia competition to be held, I've been hearing about it from when I was very young. It's just that the sports wasn't popular in the past, it was only people that had interest in the game that we're aware of it. I knew about it very early because I had bodybuilder seniors who reads their fitness magazines. Thanks to social media, the popularity is increasing and this year's competition has somehow stood out and more people are now aware of the sport. I think that it's an interesting sport, watching people who have gone through pains to bring out curves in their body that most people ordinarily don't know that they exists. Congratulations to a fellow Nigeria, for winning this year's competition.

Have you seen a bodybuilder like this before?

Wow, it was amazing to see Nigerian athletes making history at this international event! Gymnastics is one sport that doesn't get the attention it deserves. Especially in Nigeria, seeing Samson Dauda win Mr Olympia and take home the $600,000 prize money. It is truly an encouragement. It truly shows the dedication and discipline that goes into building a body like his. I have seen others competing in their local competitions, but nothing as close as Mr. Olympia. It is not just commitment to make such muscles, but you have to conserve them too. It is a completely different ball game. Hopefully, Nigerians will be motivated to take up sports and represent us at the world level by Samson's winning moments.

I think the competitions pretty old? I've seen quite a few bodybuilders with builds like that and tbh, I have no idea how different they are most of the time, they all just look in general pretty amazing to me like sheesh, I sometimes wonder how the human body can have that much content in their body sometimes.

I think the most memorable one I remember about it was the Japanese one? IIRC it was tied to a dumbbell anime which had a catchy opening hence why I remember it.

Yes, bodybuilding competitions have been around for a while, but Samson Dauda's victory certainly stands out. Because of how rare it is for Nigerians to have a chance to excel in this sport. I understand what you mean that sometimes athletes look the same. It's hard to notice the small details unless you're really well versed in the technicalities of bodybuilding, but each competitor's physique is actually judged on things like symmetry, muscle definition, presentation. etc. So even small differences can be good for the referee.

Speaking of the anime, I would say it is rather interesting. I never heard of an anime dealing with bodybuilding except man with natural huge muscles and fighting. However, it shouldn't be quite a surprise, because nowadays, everyone talks about some level of fitness culture. It's always great when media promotes niche sports like bodybuilding. Perhaps more people might develop an interest in following these competitions through this end.

Isn't the prize pool dependent on the type sport? So even if it was THAT hard, if it wasn't appreciated by the general public I reckon they'd only ever get amounts like these. Plus there's probably sponsors and stuff as well anyway so I reckon in total it's still pretty big.

It's not small chad, that's a luxury if you think that's not worth his prize. I think there are sponsorships in this and not just that cash prize. Well, congratulations to Sam, I think with that body he really deserves that though.
I agree with you on the fact that that 600k is quit a big sum of money, but you n the context of international Olympics such an amount is still small as grand prize considering the efforts and time put in by those athletes to build the structure and energy to win that competition a d how much other games grand prize winners walk away with, the other deal you mentioned is also another good way to get rewarded for winning that tournament and since the game is still relatively new, I believe the prize is gonna change when casinos begin to feature such games fans begin to bet on them.

This is the first time I am hearing such sport in the international competition. Though I have been seen it in gym centres and local competition and not in the international competition. And I have not seen a Nigerian build himself to this level that full with body muscles.
He is a Nigerian British Body Builder, and yes, sports events like Mr Olympia have been on, this is not their first year, and you must be the one not following up because the competition has had former winners. I saw a line that our new Mr Olympia has natural physique, and that's quite good because this is the first time he is winning this competition and it is looking obviously like it won't be the last for him. He needs to keep pushing from now onward because the expectations on his shoulder has doubled and increased.

Have you seen a bodybuilder like this before?

Honestly, I've never heard of a body builder with such name before he was announced as the 2024 Mr. Olympia. Looking at the picture, you'll agree with me that it takes a lot of fitness training and discipline to achieve such physique so I think he rightly deserve every penny he gets from winning the competition. The good thing about this win now is that he's also going to get lucrative endorsement deals that'll fetch him more fortunes than the actual prize he won. Congratulations to the Nigerian-born British body builder

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
Congratulations to him, and from the look of things, this competition is relatively new and that way the reward is so small, and if time permits them to develop further as in the future, I bekeuithe $600,000 is subject to change, why I focus on the winner rewards is because this is an international competitions it surpose to gain more popularity that it grand prize should be something reasonable compared to other international Olympics games.

Body building and weight lifting is something that have been in the games limelight for ages, but because of some restrictions and limit on such games that have direct effects on the health and bodily injuries.

I don't know if the OP realise this but there is already an open thread for the Mr Olympia 2024 discussion here - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.64640902. This is looking like a duplicate although it is focused on only one  individual, I think the same conversations can still go on there.

In addition to that, other bodybuilders have won the Mr. Olympia title many times since its beginning in 1965.

Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney have won the Mr. Olympia title for 8 good times, each. Phil Heath and Arnold Schwarzenegger have won the Mr. Olympia title a good 7 times.

However, this was just Samson Dauda's first time winning the Mr. Olympia title. Let's see whether he can do the same by next year with his astonished bodybuilding physique.

Samson has learned to so much from all of these past bodybuilders especially Chris Bumstead who has now retired after this competition. Kudos to him by the way.

Speaking of Prize money if Samson is able to defend this title by next year, he is not going to go home with the $600 any more it is very much likely to be more because Chris Bumstead has promised to up the money by add a little of his to it. I talked about it in the thread -https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.64640902

I had no idea a Nigerian had reached such incredible heights in bodybuilding on the global stage. I've seen bodybuilding mostly in gyms and local competitions but seeing someone like him rise to international prominence is something else. Winning Mr. Olympia and taking home such a huge prize is a remarkable achievement not just for him but for Nigeria too. It just goes to show how far dedication and hard work can take someone. Hats off to Samson Dauda for making history and representing Nigeria so proudly!

Congratulations to him and I must say it's a good thing to see that a Nigerian has at least seta record in body building, I believe this will also encourage those are aspiring to be one to continue with their body building with the hope to one olympia one very day.
However, from the currency conversion rate I think it's above 900m, using the current rate of dollars at 1670 per Naira we are having about 1b, 2m Naira (1,002,000,000). That is to say #1670 x $600k, any way I believe they used official bank rate while we are using p2p exchange rate.

Yes every bodybuilders look like him or more,  they look like monsters .
He is a world champion so it's safe to say that he has an edge over other bodybuilders. No doubt, all professional builders are insanely huge, but to win a contest like that you must be comparatively better than the rest or you flex better (the judges look to have lots of criteria that goes into their final decisions).

It's great seeing a Nigerian excel in competitions like this where we do not have regular presence and this could create a path for other aspiring body builders in different parts of the world.

$600, 000 in this Nigerian economy is a very big amount and from the Op this is the highest pay builder in the history. This is a plus to Nigeria as a country. Bodybuilding competition has been on ground since September 14, 1901 and it was called the "Great Competition" and the event took place at Royal Albert Hall in London. And after that competition, bodybuilding became part and parcel of human exercise and became a game for those who like to build their body structures.

congratulation to thim, of course it is an honor for him, his family, his country and all of Africa, and special thanks to the sports officials in America and to everyone who trusted him and helped him. I believe that the only problem facing African athletes is their presence in their countries, and when they are given the opportunity, they never disappoint, and this is evidence that all the hours he spent in the gym suffering were not in vain. I wish him more success in the future.

That’s generally what they look like, so yeah I have seen a bodybuilder that looks like this before.

No doubt he looks incredible though, such a powerful physique. Pure dedication and countless hours in the gym, plus a strict diet. Congratulations to him, he deserves the plaudits he is getting.

Congratulation to Samson Dauda for winning Mr Olympia, he's truly an inspiration for all citizens of Nigeria. I would also congratulate all my friends of the forum who are from Nigeria that someone from their own country has won such a prestigious award. By the way, his physique is well built and that's why someone like him deserves such winning.

Yea, I believe it is a new competition and he is the first. The price is not small at all, because he is the first bodybuilder to have the richest prize in the history of bodybuilding, and you say that $600,000 is small. Common man, how much do you think that he deserves for a competition like this. That's a huge amount of money for Samson Dauda and anyone who can win such amount. He has made his country proud because all those that represented Nigeria in 2024 Olympics won nothing.
