Some computer monitors also have built-in filters for blue light so you don't have to install a software-based filter. Mine is accessible by pressing buttons on the bottom of the monitor and going through the settings for color adjustment, might not work on all monitors but I've noticed most newer monitor models have this option. If you're using a laptop you'll likely need to install software though.

I think that this program is a lot better than any night mode.

THe problem is the blue light, and this little program just reduces it and replaces for a warm light.
True programs that filter blue light are good. I have been using them for a while for both my phone and PC. Luckily both are inbuilt in my Huawei Phone's OS and my PC's  OS.
I did try to use dark mode sometime back but it isn't as effective as the blue light filters.

If eye strain is your concern, you may want to consider a program like flux.

https://justgetflux.com/

Fills your screen with warm colors at night and this supposedly makes you sleep better.

I have been using Stylus* to achieve the very same thing for years. Its simply enforcing your CSS over the site. And this allows for very creative things, and even fixing flaws.

In stylus you can use custom styles for the site you are viewing, or "global" styles to achieve a web wide effect (or combine them). Right now im using one called "Pseudo brightness", its like dialing down the brightness of your monitor, which is great at certain hours of the day but not when things get really bright in the ambient. For the rare occasion I'm in darkness, such as a gaming session or such, i have darker styles at hand.

This style is called "Bitcointalk Night", made by "lastuser".

* Yes Stylus is a fork of Stylish, you want to avoid the original Stylish as it was taken by some company to monetize it ad-nausea...

Recommendations to protect eyesight if someone have to look at screen too often. Dark text on bright background, for example is what we have with current forum user interface. Dark background and white/ bright texts should not be used too often (overused) because it might harm our eyesight. And using Add-on for this is another reason I don't like to use it.

I used 1 addon and 1 app for safe my eyes.

1. Break Timer I think it is the best Time Break addons  for chrome.
Quote
Enforce periodic breaks to prevent RSI / eye strain.
Break Timer allows you to set up customizable breaks and will remind you to take them. Taking breaks whilst working or studying is crucial in preventing RSI, eye-strain and tiredness.

Break Timer allows you to customize:
 * How long your breaks are and how often you wish to have them
 * Whether to be reminded with a simple notification or a fullscreen break window
 * Working hours so you are only reminded when you want to be.
 * Colour and text of break window and notifications
 * Whether to play a gong sound at break start and end
 * Whether to allow skipping, postponing and ending of breaks

Break Timer will also intelligently restart your break countdown (optionally) when it detects that you have not been using the computer for some amount

2. f.lux windows app.
Quote
f.lux makes your computer screen look like the room you're in, all the time. When the sun sets, it makes your computer look like your indoor lights. In the morning, it makes things look like sunlight again.

Tell f.lux what kind of lighting you have, and where you live. Then forget about it. f.lux will do the rest, automatically.

useful tip. my eyes got save Smiley)
Dark mode does not save your eyes and here is why: The depth of field effect.
When there is less light falling to your eye, depth of field is reduced. Cones (photo receptors) getting fatter and as the eye roams, the ciliary muscle must work to alter the curvature of your eye lenses, in order to to keep things in focus.
This implies that mostly dark screens appear to have better contrast (they do not as contrast is hardware dependent), the real effect is that it causes the eye to do more work than a mostly white screen because the amount of light entering the eye is less.
So in short term and especially over the long term a dark theme, relative to a light theme, will tire your ciliary muscle and cause your lens to stiffen sooner.
It is advised to use screen auto brightness apps and keep as much bright backgrounds as possible (for LCD screens).
"Urban legend" basically, a myth of potentially harmful nature.

You mean to say it can also access our wallets or exchanges  Shocked. That is something that needs to be thought off.

I've been using this addon for years now until now there wasn't any problem that I encountered, my wallet is safe no one can access it except me.
but if you don't prepare these tips feel free to use your old sunglasses with no fear losing your crypto assets.

Ah I got it, thanks bro. But I worried about this extensions, this is save for bitcointalk account ?
I think it's safe to use. These addons don't have access to your Bitcointalk account, it just changes theme color of every website, not just Bitcointalk.

Hi Guys! I have some guide for you, you can use this tricks for a healty bounty hunting and bounty job. sometimes when we surfing the internet all the times our eyes hurt it is because the light is too much bright that our eyes can't stand for it. i have found some tricks that can be helpful for all of us.

Here we go, I came to an ADDON on Google Chrome called Dark Night Mode. in this addon you can make your browser not to high on brightness so you can do the bounty job easily. this is helpful because if you enter to some topic in the forum it will become darkened so you will not confused weather you already enter it or not. see the image the red rectangle means that i already open those topic, and the yellow one i haven't open it yet.

Step 1

Go to Google search the Dark Night Mode Addons for Goolge Chrome

And just add it.

Step 2 Click the Batman icon.

Step 3 Just On it and adjust it. DONE1

Note: It is only for Google Chrome i haven't try on other browsers yet.
hope it helps you guys. see you again.
