Sounds like the company is trying to create a virtual machine based Blockchain called CryptoKicks. Or it's probably building this on existing Blockchain, with a token instead? The Company will also have a crypto-based online marketplace and game store for virtual replica of the real shoes and other virtual items.

I don't get it, I read the full article as well and I still don't really understand what blockchain has to do with shoes. From what I understand you will be getting a sort of "token" that will be attached to your shoe, however how would people know if I will sell that shoe or not? Maybe I will buy it early and sell it for higher price and keep the tokens with it?

There is nothing that prevents people from buying the shoe from a second hand store without the token with it. So all this is helping is the sneaker heads who buy tons of shoes all the time and store them at home and they will be able to do the same digitally now where they will have tokens representing the shoes they bought and they can showcase it online about how they have a lot of shoes.

Nice to hear that another big company is integrating blockchain. But it does not help to improve crypto industry. We need more coins that are offering something more than just a whitepaper and that can compete with centralised solutions.

We need more crypto solutions used by big companies mainly.
What will all of this be for if all these great projects are not used by the big companies who prefer to make an internal blockchain.

As far as I know, there's a lot of pending patents that needs to be reviewed and note that all of those pending patents that I'm telling are all blockchain related projects and probably cryptokicks is one of it.

two birds with one stone or two sides of the same coin. On the one hand, it is an attraction of the audience by crypto enthusiasts, and on the other hand the popularization of the blockchain.
That is the positive side that I'm seeing with this. A reputed company gets involved to the blockchain revolution is truly an amazing event in the history of blockchain adoption.

this is idiocy. I believe that this is a perverse use of the blockchain. why use such technology to track the originality of shoes? just because they want people to pay for these sneakers 10 times more expensive than for other sneakers. people are crazy. we must not allow this.
everone can make a patent to get copyright. it is needed to avoid plagiarism and that making a creators have a right to protect his creation
it is fair and legal, and that's what should be, even every country already made that regulation
if you think the product is expensive, dont buy and use it. very simple

Changing the game
The popular sportswear brand Nike has been allowed with the right to patent their blockchain perfect shoes, which they’ve called “CryptoKicks” as reported by the U.S Patent Office on December 10th.

The sneakers are said to be appended to a framework that utilizations blockchain to join advanced resources for genuine shoes. The thought behind these imaginative new tennis shoes is that it will enable Nike to follow the proprietorship and authenticity of the shoes utilizing the blockchain innovation.

Blockchain are really hype this year many big companies and big country told us they want to make blockchain adaption, will cryptocurrency stands still next year ? due many people are creating their own blockchain and start leaving cryptocurrency. We hope this brings good impacts for bitcoin in the future.
I think there are positive and negative sides to the many products and companies that adopt blockchain technology in their programs. What I worry about is that with many products and companies that apply blockchain, this will become a boomerang for bitcoin and altcoins, how can it not be like the well-known Nike brands around the world launching coins designed by themselves where they already have communities and fans that are countless . Surely this will crush the original crypto and later there will be more ideas and breakthroughs they make and will have an adverse effect on crypto which is anonymous, in this case what is highlighted is the tax problem. What will happen if crypto / altcoins are subject to ownership tax? this is not good, and if that happens I think this will trigger the birth of bitcoin in physical form and altcoin as well.

That's silly, why make their own patent instead of using an already existing blockchain specially made for that kind of things ( Vetchain ) ?

That removes all the purpose of  projects like vetchain if big brands like Nike won't use it and prefer to use their own intern blockchain

This will be an extraordinary thing, how can a brand not as popular as Nike already want to use blockchain technology on their products, but I can't yet imagine how this Nike project can be realized. Such as Nike launching their own coins, whether this is run through IEO or the like or they might not need it, because they are clearly reliable and famous for their legendary products. Even if it's true as stated in the article, that these nike shoes other than as shoes (goods worn) but also buses as wallets, as assets which when sold have phrases etc. It's clear this will be a new breakthrough.

wow, this is a big start, interesting to see!
who would have thought that one of the big companies to start on blockchain would be nike Tongue  i figured it would be a tech company
id imagine having transparency would scare the hell out of most companies, i know the govs NEVER would do public chains
people would riot after realizing we have been paying some dude to walk our politicians dogs 60k a year for 20 years lol

I think I do support the move from Nike. This is a reputable company that is known for quality and genuine production. So I see nothing wrong with Nike believing in blockchain as a technology for verifying the originality of there product. This should be encouraged, it will go along way for blockchain technology.

I wonder why some give negative impression on how Nike utilized the Blockchain Technology's wonders on their products. I think Nike have really done some research on how they will make use of the latest technology to improve their system. One of the many applications that they have discovered was used to determine authenticity of their shoes since some really immitate their amazing shoes.

Wow this is great even on shoes apparel can used blockchain tech to improve its authenticity. Nike isn't joking around and serious for implementing blockchain innovatives for this. But I get the feeling that other big time shoe brand will follow this path as the trend will start to shaken again the market. Good for ethereum as they have been chosen as platform for this.

This is a great improvement about the exposure and adoption of the blockchain technology. Nike is one of the biggest and famous foot wears industry and this initiative of theirs can even spur other industries to inculcate the blockchain technology. I just can't wait to see my favorite brand Adidas also do something similar to make blockchain technology.

I don't know, but I have a feeling that Nike, being the dominant shoes makers who have right now, wanted to be the first. However, since they have patented it, maybe they have some intentions behind and this could be private and only willing to be used by other companies if they're willing to pay patent price (loyalty/licensing).

Of course, Adidas can create their own blockchain technology and patent it, and I'm sure as rivals, they won't used Nike's blockchain here.
