Preparing to announce the winners of the OlymPICKS contest!

We're very excited to announce the winners of the OlymPICKS leaderboard contest! To pick the winners, we’re using a provably fair method of drawing to reassure our contest participants that everything is fair. Here's how it will work:

Tallying the entries:
  • Qualifying entries are tallied for each challenge
  • Each participant is given an entry (ticket) number for the draw
  • The Nitrogen ID of participants and their total entries are posted publicly in a table below.

Individual challenge draws:
  • At 12:30pm ET, we will take the hashes from the most recent 8 blocks on the blockchain from blockchain.info
  • The hashes from these blocks will then be put into a SHA-256 PRNG to select 1 number for each of the 8 draws
  • Participants with the matching entry numbers will be the winners of the draws and have their accounts automatically credited with the 0.5 BTC prize!
  • Winners are chosen completely at random, it is possible for an individual user to win more than one challenge draw

Grand prize draws:
  • At 12:40pm ET, we will announce the most recent height of the blockchain from blockchain.info
  • The hash from this block will then be entered into a SHA-256 PRNG to select 3 numbers for the final grand prize winners
  • Participants with the matching entry numbers will be the winners of the grand prizes and have their accounts credited with the 1 BTC prizes!
  • An individual user will not be able to win more than one grand prize. In the event of a duplicate selection, a 4th number will be drawn using the same process
