Bitcoin is not a new phenomenon Bitcoin is already a well-known currency and a very popular currency. Various companies promote their brand mainly to make their brand known to people but Bitcoin has been known to people for a long time and people are well aware of Bitcoin so there is no need to introduce new Bitcoin. Advertising something else on the BitcoinTalk forum would be good marketing, but Bitcoin doesn't need marketing.
Bitcoin was advertised directly and especially indirectly. It is not like any classic advertisement in TV or YouTube or anything else like that but people used to enlighten others about it via videos, pictures, blogs...etc, until it got the attention of media so the base of users got bigger and bigger. Next came famous companies that adopted Bitcoin and announced that which is another form of advertisement.
I remember one day (5 years ago! I am getting old apparently!) I created a topic to encourage Bitcointalk users to create art for smerit: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/learn-from-arts-old-topic-name-was-smerit-for-art-2957836, which I find that worked quite well. Good old days Smiley

I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.

Yes, bitcoin was never advertised but it has some popularity. Bitcoin has had a strong community since its inception even though it is still small in number, over time the community has grown and become more popular. Bitcoin has a good vision and mission so many people agree with the bitcoin concept.

In my opinion, bitcoin will become increasingly popular and in demand because its concept is fixed and cannot be intervened by any party, this is the opposite of fiat money.

I've never given a thought before about how bitcoin came to gain so much popularity without advertising it an any electronic means. But this should not really be surprising because I've neither heard of any fiat currency being advertised before. There are some fiat currencies that are not popular because of their low value in foreign exchange, but currencies like the USD, Euro and pounds are very popular because of their high values. I don't think that they've been advertised before, likewise bitcoin, that was created and has attained high value like these recognized fiat currencies. So bitcoin naturally don't need adverts too, since it is also known worldwide. What this valued currencies including bitcoin have in common is that they are used by more than one country.

Because of the decentralized and profitable nature of bitcoin will make it's adoption to be growing very fastin every corner of the world, which is an advertisement on it's own. A good product sells itself and bitcoin is doing just that.

And that is by design.

See, we don't need to run ads all over TV in order to get people to use Bitcoin.

The BTC price goes up for whatever reason, and then people see everyone else buying it, and then they want to buy i to so that they don't feel left out.

Or people could just be talking about it on Twitter or on websites, and that in itself catches eyeballs without any money spent.

There were advertisements actually, and there are advertisements now, but at the start there wasn't any. Although Bitcoin doesn't have a marketing and promotion department or staff because it isn't a company, there are companies that are promoting Bitcoin in one way or another. They're putting the logo of Bitcoin in buses, billboards, websites, sports uniforms, etc. This is actually advertising Bitcoin. Of course it doesn't come from Bitcoin itself because nobody owns, runs, or manages Bitcoin.

What you say can also be called bitcoin advertising, but actually those people and companies are not advertising bitcoin, they are taking advantage of bitcoin's image for their own profit. The popularity of bitcoin is attracting a lot of attention from people around the world and using bitcoin logos and images is not really advertising for bitcoin but they are trying to draw attention to themselves. They also have no good intentions towards bitcoin, they just do their job to benefit their business.

Whatever they do, if they put the Bitcoin logo, they're advertising for Bitcoin. There was a big Bitcoin logo on a bus in Hong Kong, that has made people curious about Bitcoin. There was a Bitcoin logo on the sleeve of a football club uniform, that has reminded people to once again check on what this Bitcoin thing is. There was a Bitcoin sticker on a pub, that makes one ask another whether he is familiar about this Bitcoin which is becoming ever more popular.

As I said, it can also be considered a bitcoin advertisement but their main purpose is not to advertise about bitcoin, but they are exploiting the image of bitcoin to attract attention for their business. We can say, they use the bitcoin logo to advertise their business, which will benefit both, advertise bitcoin but also advertise their business.
If you want to shop and come across a store that accepts bitcoin payments, you'll go into that store to use your bitcoins. That means they are also attracting customers for themselves and also unintentionally promoting for bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a digital currency. Bitcoin is so popular that Bitcoin doesn't need to be promoted. The importance of Bitcoin is already there in all countries so it will not be necessary to create interest in Bitcoin through promotion. We only promote things that are privately owned Bitcoin is not privately owned so there is no need to promote it. If we notice then we can understand that Bitcoin has become more popular now than ever without any publicity.

Now there are many places in the world where people don't know anything about what is bitcoin but through bitcoin science they will know about bitcoin. But in countries where bitcoin support is eligible and there is no need for advertising, they are already aware of bitcoin and it is a familiar currency for everyone. Social media is constantly advertising even if it is advertised it will not be seen that. Bitcoin is likely to become more popular and popular in the near future.

Yes but the matter people are getting aware of bitcoin yet there are plenty people that don't know about it. Many people know it but they don't know how to use it so we still have a lot to do by teaching them how to do it. Even though bitcoin àdvertise itself through it users and the price, yet people are needed to advertise. The growth of bitcoin is still lye on human and not the name itself. There are many ads and news about bitcoin in the internet but people are still ignorant about bitcoin.

Human advertisement is still needed.

It's an ad about bitcoin but I agree with what DanWalker said, they are advertising themselves more than they are advertising about bitcoin. They are exploiting bitcoin's image to attract more attention to their business. They know that bitcoin is becoming more famous and that relying on celebrities or famous products will get them more attention. So when they use the bitcoin logo, they are advertising bitcoin, but their real intention is more to advertise their business.

Bitcoin has go round the whole world for people to know the advantage of Bitcoin, and what they can achieve from Bitcoin if they use it positively which are some of the things that is making Bitcoin to continue spreading in the world today. I believe all of us here can still remember how will accommodate Bitcoin that made us who we are in the community that is making people to believe that Bitcoin is real and is available for whoever that want to embrace it. Those countries that rejected Bitcoin some years ago based on their fake information and poor research later carry out another research to discovered that Bitcoin can help a nation to eliminate unemployment and delay in transaction that made them to changed their mind to adopt Bitcoin. Bitcoin is different from fiat money you need to advertise before the citizens can change their minds, but see the name Bitcoin and what El Salvador country has achieved from Bitcoin will make some countries to do the same thing.

This isn't an advertisement?

That's the hardest way to promote Bitcoin since Bitcoin isn't 100% regulated and he taking risk by promoting a new thing in serious discussion.

While the advertisement in online, I think there are many sites promoting Bitcoin, usually it's dominated by centralized exchanges.

Even though I'm not really know with the promotion before 2017 aka when Bitcoin price hit $19K
Sneaky advertising this is how Bitcoin will surely popular and be known , is this a Live Telecast when that sneaking happened? just wondering how the people reacted then if that is live .
Bitcoin has been popularized in many platform and sites now , not mentioning how  crypto gambling is increasing now and that is one way of bitcoin advertising.
I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.
In a world dominated by advertisements and where the marketing is more important than the actual product, yes, it's actually impressive, especially considering the fact that oftentimes when people talk about bitcoin they just do it in a negative way. It's the same as having a good or a bad experience with a restaurant, a hotel, or something like that: people are usually way more inclined to tell people about a bad experience rather than a good one.
Yups , the world is moving now actually not about the actual product but how advertising is fooling people , also there is a popular word now about "EXPECTATION vs. REALITY"  I kept chasing past food chain about their fake advertisement also .

We have seen the value of Bitcoin increase dramatically over the past 10 years without any advertising. Since Satoshi Nakamot is the creator of this Bitcoin, we expect a lot from him but we don't get it because he is now in hiding, we have not seen him. If he was there, he would have advertised Bitcoin in different ways, but he is no, but Bitcoin is in such high demand in the world today. All the nations of the world depend a lot on this bitcoin for their long-term goal of becoming financially self-sufficient, here they invest without any advertising. This Bitcoin has progressed tremendously without any leader to make the present world financially prosperous and has helped people a lot financially. But we are seeing a lot of ads with various experts predicting that Bitcoin will be in the best position in the coming year. When the Bitcoin halving happens just after the next few months the price of Bitcoin reflects the run towards the bull market and the price of Bitcoin reaches the highest level.

Bitcoin is not like ponzi scheme people needs to advice to make money, the reason why bitcoin is not advertised is because it is not centralised,  it does not belong to a group of persons that their target is to make it well known to people.  Bitcoin is a decentralized currencies with good value and quality features of money, with these their is no need for Bitcoin to be advertised instead it will be known by it quality and capability of solving problems for humanity.  Despite bitcoin not being advertised it is still getting more awareness and young people are adapting it very well as to strengthen their financial status.

There is not really any need for bitcoin to be promoted, as in a way this is done indirectly by all the business that are related to this market, as exchanges, casinos and any business which accepts bitcoin already promote it.

Besides unlike altcoins which are centralized and owned by just a few people, bitcoin is truly decentralized, so we do not have a CEO or a board of directors which can take the decision to do this and assign funds towards this goal.
The indirect promotion of Bitcoin through affiliated firms is, at most, flimsy. We are talking about a big change in the way money and deals are done, and it has value that goes beyond its use in casinos or as a simple transactional tool in some businesses. It's what a decentralised banking future will look like.

Putting altcoins' centralised control next to Bitcoin's decentralised structure is a waste of time. Even though Bitcoin doesnt have a CEO or board to fight for it, that shouldnt mean we should just let it go the way it is. If we really believe in its ability to change things, then its our job as supporters to support its story. Why not use the power of its global community to create more important conversations and a better understanding of each other

Bitcoin has advertised itself, people believe in the currency, how many currency can withstand the criticism and propaganda by the government against it, different nation government has put strict laws against this digital currency but it is still in existence that should make people to understand that Bitcoin is not just a digital currency, there are some monetary problems bitcoin has solved, the publicity of Bitcoin has always been it's value, the value of 1btc will always be higher than any currency in the world, why won't people like it when they can store large amount of their wealth in just 1btc, sooner or later every critic of bitcoin will join us here, it wouldn't matter the amount of their investment.

I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.
There was this forum that had people in it to whom it was announced and that is also a form of advertisement, it doesn't necessarily have to be a paid advertising campaign or running ads on TV or buying billboard spaces just to let people know about it. People who were involved in the creation and announcement process knew that it would eventually spread all around the world so they didn't need to market it, besides, people do marketing for things that they create for money, Satoshi and his colleagues and helpers didn't create Bitcoin to earn money through it.

Some people, like Hal Finney, were also active on social media platforms such as Twitter at that time and they used to post updates about it publicly, so the word spread little by little and that's the reason why it took so much time for adoption to reach this place or we would have had a price higher than this in the past if there was paid advertisement done just to let people know about it.

Bitcoin isn't doesn't have a marketing team like many centralized altcoins. It can, however, be advertised indirectly. Whenever a major company accepts it for payment, whenever an exchange buys a Super Bowl ad, when a casino pays a big influencer for a social media post. These are all forms of advertisement. Bitcoin's properties have attracted commercial ventures to develop around it and do the marketing on its behalf.

The community are playing a big part in Bitcoin advertisement, do you know how many old videos and pictures telling the world to buy Bitcoin? It's part of advertisement, I know that a pretty good numbers of people are into Bitcoin today because of me, they had no idea about the benefits of holding Bitcoin and thankfully they are willing to learn something new so I teach them everything.

There are many others like me on this forum, even before I came on here there have been many people telling their friends and families about Bitcoin, I know a family that are all into Bitcoin, from their father to their last born, everyone in that home are Bitcoin investors, if you are not seeing it around you that doesn't mean it's not happening.

Faucets also plays a big part too, thanks to those running them back in the days, there are many people who get to know about Bitcoin through faucets, years back many people are finding ways to make money online and that's how they find crypto faucets and they start getting some free Bitcoin with time, it's all form of advertisement and like I said before, the Bitcoin community played a bigger role in the life of Bitcoin.

That’s not totally true. In the early days people like Roger Ver put a lot of effort into advertising Bitcoin. Over the years I’ve seen billboards, commercials, mainstream tv appearances, etc. The biggest advertisement is likely word of mouth and historical performance though. Still, most people’s view of crypto even today is that it is a scam.

I actually see another side to it, where Bitcoin is being used as a promotional tool. Yes, more people and companies are leveraging Bitcoin to grab the attention of others or attract new audiences to enjoy the services offered by the advertising company. I've seen this a lot on exchange platforms, and these ads are prominently displayed on big blogs and YouTube as well.

Their words are something like this: "Buy Bitcoin now with PayPal on exchange X" or sometimes they offer perks like, "Start trading Bitcoin on exchange X and get instant rewards." I think Bitcoin has become popular enough to be used as a hook to draw more visitors or customers to a company through their ads.

Bitcoin seems like it doesn't need advertising, but advertising needs Bitcoin.

It is needed to promote Bitcoin by advertisement ! I think it's probably wrong because Bitcoin is already too much famous and known to everyone and Bitcoin no need any kind of advertisement for known to others. It become famous because of its own work there is no need of advertisement to make it more famous. We have seen many advertisement of BTC in many exchanger side or other crypto website but I think that's not essential for promoting with kind because it's already too much famous and its known to everyone because it's surely profit tendency.

Bitcoin is value in itself, its value is sufficient advert to sell it to anyone. Most people stumbled upon Bitcoin as a remedy to the financial channels they had issues with. The question is, who would not be happy to embrace a solution when its features are more than the traditional system that you were used to. That alone is more than enough to give you a second view about what the future holds for Bitcoin.

Furthermore, in my opinion, Bitcoin's most significant quality is its decentralization, which has allowed people worldwide to become familiar with and engage with Bitcoin. They benefit from Bitcoin precisely because of its decentralization. If Bitcoin were to be associated with a single country and placed under specific regulatory authority, then there might be a need to advertise it. However, in reality, Bitcoin's nature is not designed for centralized authority.

So, because of these reasons, there's no need for Bitcoin to advertise itself, and it does not need our advertising.
You are right, if one person tries to start a campaign to advertise BTC, then people might come to think that BTC is his product, and that's why he is promoting it, and in the end, he might scam us and rug-pull us. But I don't think back then or in the early 5 years, anyone would agree to spend hundreds of dollars to advertise BTC on different platforms, whether they were online or offline.

The thing is, many faucets, exchanges, and other products and services using BTC in some places are promoting their products, but BTC indirectly, which will not create such biased thoughts in others' mind. So, the fear of centralization is eliminated.

From the name bitcoin, the first thing you will know is that “bitcoin is a desensitised digital currency ...

Desensitized? You're probably right, but I don't recall anyone using that term to describe Bitcoin before. Bitcoin doesn't have emotions that could be "desensitized." Did you perhaps mean "decentralized"?

It was a typing error, actually a decentralised, not desensitised, so thanks for the correction.

Bitcoin fans and users are the ones who have taken it upon themselves to promote Bitcoin's benefits in different online communities and platforms. The organic word-of-mouth method, not standard marketing, has clearly shaped Bitcoin's remarkable rise.

Bitcoin doesn't necessarily need marketing by any organization, just like many altcoin projects do some social media promotions and bounty campaigns. Bitcoin promotion comes from us and some other ways that openly grab the attention of many people, particularly non-Bitcoiners. When I started hearing about Bitcoin, it was just people that normally talk about it, or sometimes in movies. Although I started to invest in Bitcoin after attending a Bitcoin seminar in school, there are people who, on their own, organize some Bitcoin get-togethers where they invite Bitcoiners and non-Bitcoiners to come and learn more about Bitcoin. There are some old threads on this forum where a member was teaching Bitcoin in church and another member thought about Bitcoin in school, those are still ways for promoting Bitcoin.

I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.

At first when it created well its surprising to see how bitcoin been so successful eventhough without any advertisement back up to get more passive growth before. But the technology speak up for itself and this has been well recognize by many people especially when they see something great coming on it on investment or even on its technology. Right now bitcoin doesn't need any advertisement since its widely known and if you talk about crypto bitcoin will come to peoples mind so there's no use to market it if someone will volunteer to do such heroic action since bitcoin is already so famous.

Right now I wonder on how far could possibly go on crypto and bitcoin industry since if majority of big countries will fully adopt it then provably we can see bitcoin price to pump up for more especially the supply is so limited.

To me it comes to no surprise. The advertisement is the product itself. That's how amazing Bitcoin is. And to those who do not understand how it works or why its so astoundingly important, it might seem like a surprise. Furthermore, Bitcoin had absolutely no competitors because it was the first in its field. Now there are alternative cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and Cardano but if we are being really honest to ourselves, Bitcoin still is the number one. No question. Sure it has its problems, but the solutions exist. And as long as that is true, Bitcoin will remain #1.

I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.

Bitcoin doesn't have anyone controlling it, so it's obviously no advertisement that's been made for it to become popular. However, bitcoin enthusiast are the ones who is promoting and advertising bitcoin. Also, these YouTubers who call themselves a crypto experts are also advertising bitcoin. They are not paid to do it, but the poker profit they will make when there's like a 50% global adoption is more than enough for them to be earning.
And currently, merchants are advertising bitcoin as one of the accepted payment options for customer's convenience.

Bitcoin does not require any advertising because it has no organization or ownership of its own. But Bitcoin is a globally known coin. Bitcoin doesn't need a new introduction as countries around the world already know about its importance and necessity.
I definitely agree with this and it also explains why there's no Bitcoin advertisement. If you ask me, i think spreading Bitcoin and teaching someone or a group of people is very much the same as advertising Bitcoin and it's also free although it won't be the same as other advertisement where it is advertised on the internet. If you think about it, when Bitcoin is created there aren't lots of people who use it and compare it right now where some country legalized Bitcoin and known throughout the world through internet without advertising.

          -   Bitcoin is not under regulation, so it is not surprising that bitcoin is decentralized. Then, in my assessment and observation, if I am one of the advertisement owners, I will see and know that I am hearing and watching news that is purely negative, and I will think that my advertisement business will be affected.

Maybe this is one of the reasons why advertisement companies don't want to associate their business with Bitcoin.

Yes, you are correct, Bitcoin has no advertisements, but there are companies that do advertise Bitcoin because it is part of their company activities. What I mean is that, those companies that do advertise Bitcoin or Bitcoin logos in their company manuals or whatever, might be using it as methods to pay their workers, mostly in an online company such as gambling, and online shops can easily pay their workers that are outside their country, just like how most casinos pay through Bitcoin pays their bettors through Bitcoin.

Those companies are not advertising bitcoin, they are using bitcoin's reputation to promote themselves, they are using bitcoin to attract more customers and bring them revenue.  Bitcoin is decentralized and not owned by anyone, but if bitcoin is owned by an individual then the companies that are using the bitcoin image are even violating copyright and need to pay for the bitcoin.  they are using free bitcoin images to promote their business, bitcoin is advertising their business, they are not advertising bitcoin.

Bitcoin advertising is everywhere - I've even seen national television reporting it. Basically bitcoin doesn't need to be advertised - but advertising can make bitcoin much more famous. Bitcoin has been advertised by various centralized exchanges and many influencers too - so I'm not sure bitcoin still doesn't get good publicity in the digital world.

In fact - bitcoin has never paid for any advertising, but bitcoin has been advertised and exploited for the benefit of each advertiser. It's never the same as other crypto - bitcoin is different. One of the biggest advertisements about bitcoin this year is - progress of a spot bitcoin ETF that has not yet been approved by the SEC.
I shouted while agreeing that Bitcoin has never paid any party to advertise like a company advertising its brand and product advantages.
Bitcoin spot ETFs are the biggest advertisement currently being discussed throughout the world with all types of media that function as advertising spaces.

FC Admira Wacker football club put the Bitcoin logo on their jersey. Bitcoin advertisements that all spectators who attend the stadium see every match.

By the way, Congratulations on rank up Legendary _BlackStar.

The fact that Bitcoin does not need advertising reveals all its strengths. No matter how governments call it a bubble or an unreliable asset, supposedly caring about their population, people still look for and find out the correct information about it.
I would say that Bitcoin can be compared to a wind or a wave, from which it is very difficult to isolate yourself. And this is probably the only one whose information does not have its advertiser.

Bitcoin does not need any advert since it is a financial instrument that people trade and make profits from it. Bitcoin had been in existence for more than 10 years now a d it does not need any advert to inform the public about it potential just like the random altcoins projects that we know that can't survive without doing publication or advert to inform investors about it potentials. Many altcoins that we knew are owned by private individuals which make market compulsory so that investors can be informed and purchase the coin project according to there level of risk taking..

In support to you post, Advertisements can exist in several ways, it doest only mean that someone should be paid before he/she can advertise No! To my best of knowledge, teaching someone about something is a way of advertising, so those news we read talking about mostly the merits of Bitcoin, they are indirectly advertising Bitcoin by broadcasting its news to their streamer. The news might be based on the recent increment in the price of Bitcoin, from there one of their viewers might then engage in additional search, that would lead to adopting the coin. HERE are some new containing some Bitcoin street art by lovers of Bitcoin, this is also a medium of advertising.
It seems that you are missing one of the important things I said. I know that is not a must for someone to advertise Bitcoin, however, if you are not warning from Bitcoin then there is no need to advertise it because you are not taking part in any form either investment or in terms of using it in your business, sometimes, if one is trying to advertise Bitcoin to those that are not aware of Bitcoin, then the Bitcoin newbie might ask the Bitcoin tutor are you also a Bitcoin investor or are you benefiting from Bitcoin? you see, if the person is not a Bitcoin investor or earner it might be so difficult for the tutor to answer that question but if the person is a Bitcoin earner or an investor, the question will be so simple to answer.
If someone is not taking part in Bitcoin and any business or investment, then it will be a bit hard for the person to get the knowledge of the things he/she wants share with others, more especially crypto newbies (both might even be deceiving themselves).

1st It is important to note that there are several means in which products can be advertised without its executive bodies and orders. So...considering the fact Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency it is deprived and tagged illegal indulgences in its environment in some oth these places and it has brought about boundaries and  limitations to a wider spread of Bitcoin adoptions and its campaigns awarenesses.

Products advertisment is not basically based on getting on the national TV stations and so on.
As long the CEO (s) of Bitcoin has come to stay anonymous in the industry, it is termed that Bitcoin is of anyone and not just for one. This is as so we don't expect an executive body (s) from the industry to be publicly parading socially or otherwise on the note of creating awareness as a means to broadcast of advertising Bitcoin.

Hence, there are several means individuals are played in relationship to Bitcoin adverts such as the crypto currency exchangers whom all believes Bitcoin is a number 1 crypto currency with potentials and reliable, so they have its system of advertising specifically Bitcoin on a prior to gain attraction.
Furthermore there are Internet search engines which regulates ADs strictly about Bitcoin.
I have also attended a Bitcoin seminar where experts
are on the nodes to speculate the existence of Bitcoin and its potentials with an opened discussions meanwhile... There are several private sectors and ICTs that literally based on educating on Bitcoin and its related digital currencies.
We also have the local communities where Bitcoins awareness is created on person to person with a prior to initiate people to the industry with a potential goal to make profits out every members succeeded to bring in to the industry including online forums such as Bitcoin discuss here we are today.

Talking about Bitcoin advertisements, in my opinion a lot of people advertise Bitcoin either personally from volunteers or companies that trade it/use it for transaction tools in their business either through social media or directly, it's just not a special marketing agenda about Bitcoin itself from the developer, Like other crypto projects that require scale marketing to get enthusiasts.

Bitcoin publicity, is not directly coming from an advertisement since due to the how bitcoin built there is no legal or official entity. It does not necessarily mean that bitcoin did not receive any marketing, or any kind form of advertisement. One of many reasons that bitcoin has popularity is because the community itself spread the awareness.

So when we talk about the community, they did not appointed to spread about bitcoin in an official manner, but instead they voluntarily educates the public about what is bitcoin all about. We need to make a distinction between a cryptocurrency project that heavily centralized and bitcoin, or any project that intensely built or developed by the community. The advertisement itself is existing in various forms.

Another I can see advertisements is businesses or any people who are accepting payments for Bitcoin for any goods or services. Another thing is consumers or any other people who ask some businesses or individuals if they accept Bitcoin. By doing this people who don't know yet Bitcoin will start to become curious and they will start to research or try to own or accept some.

Bitcoin is the crypto world's poster child so it's no surprise that even if there's not a lot of growth in advertising, the price of bitcoin is still growing. Another advantage of bitcoin and why it's thriving despite no ads for it is the fact that it grows no matter what is the news that it's been given, be it negative or positive, in a way it's always going to benefit in the long-term because it's always getting people to be curious about bitcoin, another advantage that I can think of (although I would be happy if this isn't an advantage) is bitcoin's always the choice of scammers to use as a crypto to entice their victims which, with the scammers just showing the growth of bitcoin in over a decade to their potential victims and then shoehorning their scam tokens, it's no surprise that people will always be entice and have the FOMO in them that they felt with bitcoin.

In short, bitcoin became a common word that's associated with cryptocurrency and so there's no need to do advertising to it although it could benefit greatly from that given that it hasn't reached a global adoption yet (at least to my standards).

I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.
There are so many ways Bitcoin is being advertised these days and it has more to do with the technological breakthroughs and possiblity of AI and bots that has done more to open the eyes of this young generation to the potential of crypto, of which BTC holds in recognition and respect to personal finance and the ease it creates when considered for across border transactions and payments.

Movies do more to advertise about crypto and BTC in particular as well as social media graphics designed pics with the logo and meme photos of BTC too. BTC is the future of money and there just can't be a regular kind of advert for the promotion of its vision.

I agree mate lots of movies that incorporate bitcoin or cryptocurrency into the casual conversations of the characters like Unfriended: Dark Web, Crypto, Hacker and even the famous series Black mirror have been analyzed and said to have vaguely predicted the rise of cryptocurrency and AI

one of the most effective, if not the most, advertising strategies is through the word of mouth as more and more users discover bitcoin they tend to spread what they know and invite others to join whether or not they become successful in inviting others and making them understand the concept of cryptocurrency doesn’t matter because at the end what matters is they now know the existence of bitcoin

You talk about advertisement, here many countries are trying to ban Bitcoin and many people are spreading negative words against Bitcoin, but still Bitcoin continues its growth journey despite these negative propagandas and without any advertisement, but the fact remains that I have not seen anywhere else the growth that Bitcoin has achieved without any advertising. The best features in Bitcoin are playing an important role in making it popular.

Bitcoin doesn't need any advertising, because the abilities in it are playing an important role in making it successful. Of course, those characteristics are not present in any other investment. I think the second reason for Bitcoin success is its very high rate of return, because most other investment sources cannot expect such a high rate of return. So everyone is trying to get more profit in a short period of time so whoever has good capital prefers to invest in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin does not require any advertising because it has no ownership bitcoin is based on decentralized supply and demand. There is no institutional recognition no authority to regulate transactions no scope for government intervention. People all over the world know the use of bitcoin and they are very familiar with it therefore the demand for the digital currency bitcoin is now high and the price of bitcoin is increasing. Bitcoin will be used by everyone for investment no country's central bank has yet recognized bitcoin. Online shopping is happening in those countries because there are no restrictions in buying and selling this currency online.

Actually, bitcoin is indirectly advertisement by us who always live in the community, but it's not very visible like other altcoin. because Bitcoin will become interesting to people if shared by smart people. I wasn't that interested before until I found my smart idol share about a new currency system (bitcoin) 5 years ago. then I got interested and started to learn it. Bitcoin is a new technology that is not easy to learn just like that, and because of that, we can't use the usual marketing to share with the people. we have to understand first how bitcoin works, if not, people are not interested, but instead hate it.

Obviously, there is no open organization for Bitcoin to organize a marketing strategy in order to inform the public about Bitcoin, but Bitcoiners are the advertisers of Bitcoin. So, it's never a surprise to me that Bitcoin has gained popularity around the globe. In every country, there was a particular individual (a Bitcoin investor) who was the reason why so many other people invested in Bitcoin, and that's another way of first-handedly advertising Bitcoin. Some people talk about Bitcoin in public places, which gets other people wondering what really is Bitcoin, and their curiosity can lead them to browse about it and probably invest if they get a good guide. Some people, like myself, accept Bitcoin payments and publicly display some advertising images.
Bitcoin fans and users are the ones who have taken it upon themselves to promote Bitcoin's benefits in different online communities and platforms. The organic word-of-mouth method, not standard marketing, has clearly shaped Bitcoin's remarkable rise.

Still, thinking that this method is perfect seems a bit cocky. Though there was a time when some trades seemed unbeatable, they paid for being too sure of themselves. Solid marketing and cautious optimism can only help Bitcoin's place in the financial world, answering not only people's questions but also giving potential investors a full picture.

isn't it, there's a money topic discussing what the OP asked about!
Bitcoin is not like shitcoin which requires marketing to be known to many people, Bitcoin is the first crypto asset which has made the world excited since its inception, even one of the legendary stories (bitcoin pizza day) related to Bitcoin still survives to this day, since was first satoshi circulates bitcoin, he never applies marketing to bitcoin, he knows that bitcoin will be big in the future, bitcoin will always stay at the top of the crypto asset standings without the need for marketing, the price of bitcoin is completely influenced by market sentiment.

Simply because the purpose of creating bitcoin was to create a decentralized currency, a means of peer-to-peer payment. Meanwhile, Altcoins was created as an investment project to seek profit, so it is easy to understand that advertising is indispensable. But I disagree when you say that Satoshi knew about the future of bitcoin, if he was still alive he would be surprised by what is happening. He once said, “bitcoin will either be nothing or will have huge trading volume”, he does not guarantee anything and knows anything in advance.

The progress of Bitcoin has greatly been the major factor to it's massive adoption and awareness, people like to get involved with something that's going to be beneficial for them and that's why Bitcoin has gained so much population after the first halving and bull run that lead to people acquiring so much profits to their holding in Bitcoin. After the first halving, I would also act the same if I had a chance to actually hold some coins and this has been the reasons for almost all the massive adoption and plus the fact that Bitcoin is actually the most coolest coins ever @decentralisation

Even if people advertised or still advertise BTC today, it is because of their personal choice and they want people to use this censorship resistant currency, BTC does not have any central authority that can pay for advertisements, unlike shitcoins and centralized scam projects that hire hundreds of shillers to promote their project and they still fail. BTC has real use cases, it advertises itself with what it offers and there is no other way to look at it, let's say you are looking for a currency to make cross-border payments faster, safer and cheaper, you don't need any advert to tell you BTC is your best choice.

Satoshi disappeared since 2010 so at that time advertising was no longer needed because the owner was no longer there, but some communities believed bitcoin could grow into a good digital currency, so what is happening now is the reality.

Maybe what we call advertising by companies or other industries is their goal of adopting bitcoin so that the community is interested in companies that have provided bitcoin, that's where bitcoin becomes spread throughout the world until it is known today.

In addition, now a lot of speculation about bitcoin every day on social media is a form of advertising that is promoted unconsciously, because we know bitcoin does not require advertising but people always spread more widely about bitcoin.

As other have pointed out and or will point out, there are technically some advertisements for bitcoin.  When outlets like Crypto.com have commercials, they're essentially promoting bitcoin.  But this is also what makes bitcoin great that there are no "direct" advertisements, only a centralized entity would pay for advertisements.  That's of course what makes bitcoin great, that it's not.

When something has become a trendsetter, is already famous, and everyone will immediately remember and know when talking about cryptocurrency, then there is no need for advertising about Bitcoin. There may still be some advertisements that aim to introduce Bitcoin as a means of payment in some places, and that goal may be more specific. So there is a need for advertising to provide information to the general public who are not yet familiar with Bitcoin as a means of payment.

There are many reasons why Bitcoin does not have advertisements; one of them is that it is decentralized, meaning no one can control it except governments. Besides, why would he have an advertisement if it was recognized by the global currency?

Then maybe the advertisers are also afraid or just worried because of the volatility of Bitcoin and often being issued with negative news. Of course, if you are an advertising company, the products that have a negative impact on your business will be affected. So, it's just common sense, right?

The bitcoin we have now does really require advertisement as the wave and news of bitcoin is all over the world. What bitcoin needs to keep moving high is increment in price and events such as halving and its accompanied bull run.

When bull run begins, you will begin hear and read all over the internet how bitcoin price will be flying and this will attract many new investors to bitcoin and by this bitcoin adoption will be expanding.

However, I believe that Satoshi did carry out some advertisements in the early days of bitcoin. I think in this forum through bounty. That really helped bitcoin popularity.

Keep in mind that during that period we're literally stuck in one of the worst biological disasters of our time, quite worse than the bubonic plague arguably, and yet thanks to him bitcoin shot up in value from the confidence that he injected upon people.

It's all cool and I really wish he stayed that way and not out himself as a pretentious clown so thirsty for internet validation, but oh well. You either die a hero or meme long enough to be the cringelord of the internet.

I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.
But now it doesn't need advertisement it already made place in people's heart.
Yes, you're absolutely right that there's no need for advertising Bitcoin; it has already won people's hearts. In fact, when you look at it in reality, one of Bitcoin's remarkable qualities is that it naturally stands out on its own rather than seeking validation from others through advertising, as is often the case with products or services.

Just as others have said, there has been countless advertisment for Bitcoin but they aren't directly from Bitcoin itself but from the community. Bitcoin has always been advertise by the community and that's why the community has grown to the level it is today. There has been adverts by projects and companies in the industry especial the centralized companies like exchange that has been dominating the ads industry of recent. The ads might have other intentions but they also promote Bitcoin to the masses.

There has been adverts from news media when they report about Bitcoin itself or events relating to Bitcoin like exchange hacks, collapse or profits made from trading Bitcoin. The community also advertise Bitcoin to their friends so Bitcoin has always enjoyed free adverts that it didn't pay for or know that it's going on. Bitcoin casinos also advertise Bitcoin when they buy ad in sports games or get into partnership with sport clubs that display Bitcoin logos.

The government has been one of the main promoters of Bitcoin without knowing as when they're taking negativity about Bitcoin, they're still promoting Bitcoin as more people (who are potential investors) get to hear and know about Bitcoin from those negative attack that gets lots of media attentions.

Bitcoin does not require any advertising because it has no organization or ownership of its own. But Bitcoin is a globally known coin. Bitcoin doesn't need a new introduction as countries around the world already know about its importance and necessity.
Advertisement was created to inform people or create awareness of what you want people to know, posting pictures on billboards is also a form of advertisement and have seen bitcoins and other crypto on billboards and it looks amazing. But when it comes to watching advert on TV have not seen bitcoin I only see news associated with bitcoin.

It may be globally known but not everyone who knows the name knows exactly what it does and how it does it. Recently, there was an event in my locality and I asked someone if he knew what Bitcoin was before now, he said that he had just been hearing the name. And for a fact, some people think it’s all about investing money whereas it isn’t. Bitcoin may not have ownership but we somehow need to tell the world what Bitcoin really does as I’m being to think that a large majority have just heard the name but do not know enough about it.

Bitcoin doesn't have any paid ads or marketing campaign but it had its own share of struggling phase because people were not ready to believe in it as this was something new even for me when I hear about it first time and adoption was much bigger challenge. But once geeks started taking interest into Bitcoin and the vision of it they started writing more article and spreading awareness. But only in the year 2017 bitcoin became mainstream due to the massive bullrun and this time it got more limelight as some celebrities started investing into it and this was the same year when even the challenges got more intensified with regulators trying much harder to stop people from using it than the effort they made in the past. Ideally Bitcoin doesn't need any advertisement and will always remain king of crypto.

Also, bitcoin is not owned by any single party like these altcoins so who would take the ownership of advertising when there is not an owner to bitcoin.

Bitcoin is actually promoted very well. I think cryptocurrency exchanges advertise very well. At the same time, the fact that exchanges sponsor big teams is also a good advertisement for Bitcoin.

Nowadays, advertising is important and used for many things. However, since it is not a direct organization of Bitcoin, it cannot advertise. In fact, by talking about Bitcoin, we are making the biggest Bitcoin advertisement. We will continue this way.

Bitcoin may have needed advertising when it first came out, but now that it has proven itself and is a world-known investment tool, it does not need advertising. Although there is no need for advertising, it is still advertised a lot and reaches more people every day.

Yeah, we've got our own ways of introducing it to other people through words of our mouth. I know that many have been tired to the people that they shared bitcoin with when you've seen them lose their interest. But it's not our loss, but theirs. If satoshi is still alive right now, he'd certainly be happy about how the forum has grown and of course, the project that he started with, Bitcoin.
-snip-
Let those who are not interested in Bitcoin lose interest, and see how Bitcoin can reach ATH again after Halving,
of course, it will be a moment that makes everyone start getting into Bitcoin and start having enough interest to buy Bitcoin.

It will be their loss when entering at too high a price.
Even we warned when the price was still quite cheap.
This is gonna be one of the most interesting bull runs that we're going to see. Because it could be the first time that we're going to see Bitcoin hits 6 digits for the first time. And all of these prices that we're seeing right now might not be seen anymore in the future. Yes, those that have lost their interest on Bitcoin will regret that they have never entered and tried to invest in Bitcoin. Whilst us, we've endured all the pain and hurt that the market has given to us but we deserve what's about to come into these greener pastures.

If Satoshi is still alive?
That's a statement stating that Satoshi is dead, you need to correct it again.
We don't know if Satoshi is alive or dead and we don't know if Satoshi is a person or just a group.

Bitcoin continues to grow without knowing Satoshi's true identity, this is what makes Bitcoin quite unique and the most expensive digital asset today.
You're right, I am assuming that he's gone but we don't know if he's still with us or forever gone. Yeah, Thanks for that correction. Since we don't know if he's still around or not anymore. That's probably the one of the saddest thing that will be in tandem of the rise of Bitcoin.
Patience does really count but of course only into those people who are really that risk takers on which we shouldn't really be that forgetting that in any investment there's an accompanied risks on this it would really be just that so normal that you would really be that having those doubts about its future. Bitcoin doesnt really need any marketing on which it is true that recognition and adoption is really that indeed organic. We dont need any marketing just for the sake of exposure which considering that media and population would be the ones will be able to find out about its existence.

This is why it would really be that just better that you shouldn't really be that bothering yourself when it comes to this because it would come down naturally. It might does take up some time
but at least we are really seeing such progress on which we know that it would be something inevitable. We are really that preferring on an organic way rather than on being that too pushy or
forcing up things which arent supposed to be done.

Just go with the flow and let that adoption would increase overtime. To those who had trusted on investing into it are the ones who would really be
be able to make those advantage in terms of investment but of course there's no assurance to that.

Utilizing media to promote something is called advertising. Maybe the promotion of Bitcoin is carried out through various groups on various online media platforms carried out by certain people who have a progressive mindset through light discussions so that it spreads widely.
The purpose and benefits of the internet to make it easier and information about Bitcoin will not be slow to spread if people with an intelligent mindset are willing to understand the advantages of Bitcoin in the financial system.

Promotional media is also available offline. Maybe people with discussion communities, they are willing to write scientifically about the use of Bitcoin in the application of financial systems into a thesis as a result of their research.

Yes, this is how decentralisation is suppose to be. No single entity or body will promote it, but many people who have showed interest in them will promote it amongst people. Bitcoin is just too exceptional to argue with someone about that don’t want to own any. This is another good example that should serve as a reminder that bitcoin is the best digital current and money to own in today’s modern world full of technological advances.

BTC is the future of money and there just can't be a regular kind of advert for the promotion of its vision.

if even an individual or a group wants to advertise it how are they going to start with the advertisement, in whose name as the spare header of the coin and under whose organisation. Every advertised products is tied to a company as patent owner but bitcoin has no owner, no controller and that's why there can't be an advert for it. Bitcoin is advertising itself by breaking through the barriers of doubt earlier placed on it not to see the light of day but today it has sailed a decade with stronger value.

They don't advertise decentralization it does the advert itself based on those that has tested and benefited they willingly share the good news about it and that's how bitcoin penetrates the market without paid advert.

It will be the criticism of many people and become the target of criminals who want a lot of bitcoins.

This the definition of real decentralized since the community is working on their own to promote Bitcoin unlike other shitcoins that get funds from the community to start their project while they still own the most token supply.
From the community and for the community.
Bitcoin provides many benefits to those who entrust their investments to it.
The tremendous growth and promotion that everyone is doing will have a good impact on Bitcoin.

The above is an early advert for bitcoin. Infact, this advert caused a lot of problems because the authorities told the companies that they they needed to bring the advert down as it didn't carry any caution to intending buyers that bitcoin is a volatile asset.

There has been adverts for bitcoin all through the years...these have occurred indirectly through centralized exchanges, individuals, crypto organizations and others.

With everyone's help and even money from their own pockets that have made their share even it's not considered as an actual advertisement for Bitcoin. But because of being a supporter, as a volunteer. Thumbs up and hands down to those that have done such for Bitcoin just to show how they're very optimistic about its future and got to the point that they'll have to spend their own money campaigning and volunteering just to share it.

Bitcoin is one of the fast growing technology and it is also the most talked about technology currently in the world. it’s has taken to every platform, trending on spaces like twitter and facebook, bitcoin don’t need to introduce itself twice, it’s last introduction is enough for everyone to see what the future of bitcoin will be like. Bitcoin does not need any advertisement to gain its popularity, it’s have made its first wave and It is listed on every Cryptocurrency exchange, unlike other coins. The price ticker regularly flashes on CNBC and Bloomberg TV. Free advertising. It has a first mover advantage. For better or worse bitcoin is the original, others are copies. Most of the other cryptos are built off the original bitcoin codebase.
Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency to gain widespread attention and has become synonymous with the broader concept of digital currency. Note that there are many other cryptocurrencies, each with their own characteristics and advantages. However, Bitcoin's early adoption, limited supply, and strong security have allowed it to establish itself as the most popular cryptocurrency of all time. Bitcoin is very difficult to hack because it uses a distributed ledger called blockchain to record transactions. This security feature has made Bitcoin attractive to investors looking for a safe haven. It has a large and growing network of users, which has helped increase its awareness and acceptance as a legal currency.

Bitcoin is a coin that is currently in demand all over the world. This coin is the most demanded by people in the crypto world.Bitcoin is an online based decentralized currency.Bitcoin has no ownership or organization of its own.
This coin has become so popular that people in every country around the world now know about Bitcoin. Many countries have already realized the importance of Bitcoin and declared it legal in their countries.
I think since Bitcoin can only be transacted online and has no owner it probably doesn't need any advertising.

Bitcoin is decentralized, not owned by anyone, so who is rich enough and brave enough to promote bitcoin when they do not gain any profit from it? Furthermore, it is not a product that needs advertising to bring in revenue, it does not need anyone to maintain its existence and on the contrary, it is we who need it. Not to mention, an extremely high-quality product does not need to spend money on advertising, as long as people use it and share it with each other, it will bring a huge multiplier effect. That's the difference between bitcoin and the rest of the world.

I don't know what everyone thinks, but even though in the early stages of bitcoin talking about acceptance, people didn't like it and were always attached to dangerous things in cyberspace, it was still an indirect way to introduce people to Bitcoin. In the past, I had the habit of always completely believing in the things I found on Yahoo, Google,..., but later I realized that there were things that were completely wrong with the original content, but it was just curiosity, that made me learn more about it.

And the marketing story with Bitcoin, I think there is no need to differentiate too much because everything over time I feel is an acceptance of the truth of what it can do, of course it is not completely good or bad when looking at it. That point is built around it by ourselves. In the current social context, where media easily share navigation and people easily find information, whether the truth is exposed or false has an impact on helping people get closer to Bitcoin.

I think BTC has become the next Marvel, DC or any other big brand like Apple that don't have to come up with astonishing features, even the design of new coming apples are similar to some extent (they are just changing the camera size or position etc ) well, besides this, BTC when in start, might be advertised like the faucets, the exchanges, supporting BTC payment or providing ways to earn in BTC.

They all were doing advertisement for btc. In short, my teacher of marketing used to say sell without selling. Means, unlike sellers you don't have to convince customer to buy this and that. You just have to share them your enough knowledge about your product or skills that other person will already be convinced to buy it from you.

BTC has done the same, faucets, exchanges, ETFs applications, Investor's investments in BTC, companies adopting it, Countries adopting it and many other positive news of how BTC has impacted the life of a middle men. These activities has unintentionally did the work of advertisements and news outlets played an important role here. And this forum, I mean who knows how many times the keyword BTC is being written here everyday. There would be no other keyword except BTC, that would have wrote this much.

But now it doesn't need advertisement it already made place in people's heart.

I was just reading this post and thought crossed in my mind that there has been no advertisement for Bitcoin. It's all growth has been natural, it's quite surprising if you think about it.

I think bitcoin being without a leader, although we have Satoshi, but we really didn't see the man in flesh. And I think it contributes more for Bitcoin for being a enigma like it's creator in Satoshi. Unlike least say Ethereum wherein they still have Vitalik as their nominal leader, in Bitcoin we don't and we don't need one just to promote it.

And in the last 10 years or so, we seen it's massive growth to the point that every nation in the world are still divided. That's what kind of noise bitcoin did, disrupt the financial world without any leader and up to now it is still the talk of the town. And now that we are approaching halving and the next bull run, for sure it will be in the headlines again.

Back in those early days when Bitcoin first started, it was mostly getting talked about on cryptographic message boards, newsgroups and other online communities. It seemed really experimental and niche and the adoption was slow at first as people tried to understand what it was all about.

But over time, as more nerds and libertarians started getting into Bitcoin, it started getting articles written about it online and offline, and talked about in the news. People pitched it as an alternative to the traditional financial system where you had to deal with high fees from banks and credit cards and wait days for transfers. With Bitcoin transfers could be free and instant since everything is on a decentralized ledger. Of course, it still felt pretty experimental and risky back then. But the hype around Bitcoin grew as more people learned about its potential.

Yes, of course, there has never been a coordinated and paid advertising promotions done for Bitcoin yet it is able to reach a global audience and is now comparable to many big financial institutions when talking of value. This is actually an amazing story...one of the mystifying reason why I think Bitcoin is really destined to be one of the tools gifted to humanity. And actually Bitcoin is just on its beginning phase...we shall see more exciting developments in the years to come. The growth of Bitcoin is indeed organic...with the power of the mouth really doing its work.

But Bitcoin is a globally known coin. Bitcoin doesn't need a new introduction as countries around the world already know about its importance and necessity.

I was talking quite prior to that, before it became known.

Bitcoin does not require any advertising because it has no organization or ownership of its own. But Bitcoin is a globally known coin. Bitcoin doesn't need a new introduction as countries around the world already know about its importance and necessity.
