FOUND THE SOLUTION

I needed to reindex.  If anyone else has this problem with osX, the terminal command for reindexing is:

/Applications/Bitcoin-Qt.app/Contents/MacOS/Bitcoin-Qt -reindex

I just updated versions...I'm using v12.0

I will post it, but I tried this before and was given a command for my terminal for reindexing but it never worked.

Can you post the debug log?

I think that you will probably have to reindex to fix this.

I am running bitcoin core v.11.2 for my mac.  I have been running it for yars, and now it will not let me verify the blockchain.  I'm stuck 13 weeks behind.
There are always at least 2 to 3 connections with the network, but no progress.
How can I get it to run the way it used to?
