Rofl.  That is funny.  No Army = No Nation.

Not really. Army is not everything. There are some countries without armies and they are doing well: Andorra, Lichtenstein, Samoa, Grenada, Costa Rica etc.
But I am sure that if you want o establish new country with just one man it will be hard, as long as this is not your private island. I guess that this is over of Bitcoin Land.
I thought that Liberland would be around for longer. Instead it ended rather abruptly in the typical BTC-project fashion.

The difference between Liberland and all those countries you listed is that no other nation is claiming their land. Liberland territory is claimed by at least one, and possibly two, other nation(s).

Interesting. If they arrested him trying to enter it from the Croatian side then he has just established in law that it is not recognised as part of Croatia by the Croatians, since how could they arrest him from moving freely about Croatia?

Now he needs to do something similar from the Serbian side and he has established that neither side recognise it as part of their territory, otherwise he could freely come and go without any 'border issues', i.e. Serbian and Croatian border authorities themselves are establishing the border by their restriction of movement.

What happens once he gets inside?

OK I checked more facts about it from available official Croatian sources, and it looks that this territory is not unrecognized.
In facts, it seems that this territory belongs to Serbia (cadastral) but because this territory is on the other side of river and Serbian policy can't easily access this part of their land, by mutual agreement between the Croatian and Serbian the area is controlled by Croatian police.

I'm from Croatia, from what I've heard about this is

The territory on which Liberland stood was Croatian territory, the border was across the Danube river and thus the land in Croatia
However when Danube retreated (can't find a better word in english Cheesy), Serbia took the territory as they found the border was Danube
Since the war the territory is under dispute, both sides claiming it belongs to them
Then Jedlička came along and claimed it for himself
Not a smart move, huh? Cheesy

Well it can't have been a no-mans land if he got arrested for being there.

Rofl.  That is funny.  No Army = No Nation.

As has been mentioned some countries don't have armies but this 'Liberland' that he was trying to create was never going to work for obvious reasons.

Vít Jedlička, a Czech politician who declared himself president of a tiny nation established on what he claims is a 2.7-square-mile "no man's land" along the Danube River, was arrested Saturday by Croatian authorities who said he and his self-styled fellow founding fathers of Liberland are trespassing.

Croatian authorities could not be reached for comment to confirm the arrest of Vít Jedlička, a libertarian politician from the Czech Republic. A group calling itself the Liberland Press Association, which has spoken in the past for Jedlička, made the announcement in a statement emailed to FoxNews.com.

“The president of the self-proclaimed micro-nation of the Free Republic of Liberland, Vít Jedlička, has been arrested by Croatian police for illegally trespassing an international border,” read the statement. “The arrest may have taken place on no man’s land territory. This would raise issues on the Croatian-Serbian border and could start a new crisis in the Balkans.”

On May 2, Jedlička and the rest of his cabinet declared Liberation Day for Liberland, inviting new citizens to gather in nearby Serbia to enter the purported "micro-nation" by boat via the Danube. The circumstances of Jedlička’s arrest or where he may be being held were unclear.

Jedlička’s supporters added that the arrest was unjustified and possibly illegal, saying he never actually crossed the Croatian border into the disputed territory.

They also maintain that neither Croatia nor Serbia claimed the land to be within their borders following the 2003 dissolution of Yugoslavia.

Officials from Croatia have maintained that they do not take the claims of the new nation seriously.

“The Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs does not consider claims about so-called ‘Liberland’ as in any way credible,” officials for the Croatian Embassy in Washington D.C. said in a previous statement to FoxNews.com. “Rather, it sees them as what they are – virtual witticism, and for those, we have no further comments to make.”

Embassy officials did not immediately return requests for comment regarding confirmation of the arrest.

Jedlička originally formed Liberland in April, saying he was frustrated by high taxes and intrusive government in his own nation. He claims to have researched unclaimed land and found an unspoken-for sliver where he maintains international law allowed him to stake a claim.

More than 300,000 people from around the world have applied for citizenship in Liberland, according to Jedlička. They have been approved, even though most will never live in -- or never set foot in -- Liberland.

“We believe we can set up the last state on the planet,” Jedlička told FoxNews.com in April. “We are taking the best parts of the American Revolution and the U.S. Constitution and applying it here.”

... and everyone scalded me for saying Vit just made himself a target.

OK, here is what I don't understand.
Both Croatia and Czech Republic are members of the EU.
And if I am not mistaken Vit is still a Czech citizen.
Therefor there was no illegal trespassing.
So why the arrest for illegal trespassing?

OK, I'm from Croatia, so I think I can understand better what is the problem here.
Croatia and Serbia have a few official border crossings and only in these places it is possible to legally cross the border.
Croatia still didn't officially recognized Liberland as new, independent state in Europe, and Liberland is still not in EU.
Because of this, there is no official border crossings between this 2 countries.
Vit tried to cross border in a place where there is no official border crossing and thereby violated the laws as Croatian and EU.
It's simple like that.

Technically speaking they did not cross any borders, they established this in a no-man's land between two borders.
How did they violate any laws by not crossing any borders?
This location was chosen, because nobody had legal ownership of this 7km area.

There's a continent that's been growing in the North Pacific that's said to be larger than the United States of America. I'm pretty sure it's up for grabs if anyone can figure a way to consolidate it.

This sounds like the Waco siege in America -->  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waco_siege

Only difference being that it's not the government stopping people for their religious believe, but for their political believe. {And there were no shootings between the two parties}

Liberland is a "Pipe dream" ... No country will wilingly release ground within their borders for people to become totally independant from the state.

Better luck next time...  Wink .... or get a island.

Islands usually fall within the jurisdiction of a country.
So what you just said applies to islands too.

If there is 300,000 citizens then now is the time for their bravest and brightest to volunteer to go to war against Croatia. Digitally speaking of course. I wonder who will become the Benedict Arnold of Liberland, and it's first hero.
