Well the current situation is now 55,179 unconfirmed transactions so, i guess your transaction has so high fee that it should be confirmed within 12 hour window.
I find it pretty weird that, since you have such a big fee that it did not get confirmed. At times like this, you should check the current fee rate from chain.so and for example now it is around 0.0002BTC, i would recommend using 0.0003 for such transactions that need to be confirmed quickly.

If it has not confirmed within 72 hours, it will get rejected by the network and returned back to your wallet.

I was just using the blockchain wallet, basically I went to change the fee in advanced to raise it and get the transaction in 1 block but I must of hit the wrong number.

https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

Theres currently 62k unconfirmed transactions, is the network congested or something? Kinda new so not sure. This transaction should get confirmed eventually right and if not how long until its dropped from the network and returned? Thanks for your reply =]

So I sent some btc last night with fee's attached.

65 satoshi/byte, for some reason my wallet set a low fee. bitcoinfees21 says that should be accepted in 1-5 blocks and theres been 60 blocks since, any ideas why it isn't being picked up? how long you think it would take? thanks

Which wallet did you use ?

I can help if you use Electrum and go to Tools/Preferences/Dynamic Fees (make sure is checked) and move the slider all the way to the right. You don't need to check bitcoinfees21 with using this method, it will always send the fee just a bit higher than recommended and you will never have such problems again. Well only when the miners will have problems confirming but not because of fees anymore.

Read my post here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--1762912

Or I'll quote a part of it for ya

"The best thing you can do is submit the txid to https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

If a block is found by ViaBTC, your transaction will be included and confirmed. That's the fastest (and bes) method for you to do at the current moment. Next time find a way to set your own fee. I usually set mine as 0.001 BTC to get it confirmed in the next block and to make sure it is. The network does look congested as mentioned above which is due to the amount of unconfirmed transactions (40k(?))."
