If the seed was originally from Bread Wallet... and you restored it to Bread Wallet, there should be no reason why it didn't show your balance... the only thing I can think of is that either:

a. The wallet had NOT synced properly (Last time I checked Bread wallet, it took quite a while to sync newly restored wallets)
b. The seed you have written down is NOT the seed for the wallet that had your BTC
c. The developer changed the way the app works since you created your seed (not likely)

Also, if you are going to import your Breadwallet seed into Electrum, you need to know that Breadwallet does NOT use the default BIP44 "derivation path"... when prompted during wallet creation in Electrum... do NOT use m/44'/0'/0'... instead, change it to m/0'

NOTE that the ' (apostrophe) at the end is VERY important... m/0'

Great. Thanks so much, I'll give it a go. Is there a reason why it shouldn't show in my Bread wallet, is it a common solvable problem? (Spot the man who wants reassurance!). Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for such a quick response. What's Electrum?! I told you I was clueless! Sorry and thanks.

It's a wallet. You can download it from here: https://electrum.org/#download
After installing it, It should ask you to connect a server, choose the 'Auto connect', name the wallet as you wish > 'Standard wallet' > 'I already have a seed' and follow the steps by typing your Breadwallet 12 words and checking the BIP39 seed option as I showed you above.

Breadwallet should be using BIP39 so using Electrum should do the trick, try to restore the wallet there and while typing the seed click 'Options' and check 'BIP39 seed' as shown here.

Hi All

Apologies if I sound a bit clueless (I am!). Also, apologies if this an old topic, I can't find the correct thread.

I accidentally wiped my phone containing my Bread wallet (I gave it to my wife and assumed I could retrieve it using my paper key). It contained about 1 BTC.

2 days later I have ?successfully? imported the wallet to my new phone using the 12 word key and it shows no funds at all. Very concerned!

I hope you can help!

Many thanks in advance.
