Google "bitcointalk Cosby hack" and you'll have fun for about 10 minutes.  Read the posts and look at the videos.  I still laugh everytime I see a GIF of "uploading wallet.dat"  Cheesy

There is not much happening, so not so many hot topics to discuss. You could always dig up some from last week and give them a fresh new viewpoint.  Grin

Maybe because there was too much excitement yesterday when it was revealed that a Bitcoiner was planning on killing six people and dog.

If you think this is bad, you should have been here when people were really negative and screaming about ACIS's and 51% attacks as well as how Bitcoin was going to crash and it's a bubble. We must have got that spam for the first year or so I was there, the peace and quiet is actually nice.

Indeed. In some topics I see the tendency older users to write some quite interesting and informative posts. It would be nice if those quality posts are available on top of each thread, so newbies and enthusiasts like myself are able to get to the good stuff quicker.

Can topics move the market? Huh
If the general attitude on the forum is low, people on the forums are likely to catch on to that attitude, and that most certainly can/will affect the market.

The tone is negative also because there is way too much hate going on around here. Like if you take the example of the Altcoins subforum, it's full of hate on Litecoin, etc. Discussions turn into trolling. It's really hard to filter the useful info, especially in the hardware subsection.

to see some good topics, go behind 1-2 years Smiley

I guess most topics get recycled over and over again. There are always new people that join this forum. I think this isn't too bad and totally fine, since new people also mean new views and ways of talking about something!

Have you noticed that when there are no good topics or the general tone of the topics are negative, that the price drops, and when the general tone of the topics are excitement and innovation, that the value of BTC goes up?

there isn't too much more to be said about bitcoin that hasn't already been said.

at this point its mostly educating newbies or rehashing some old thing.

things get hacked, more businesses accept bitcoin, same thing, yadda yadda, difficulty goes up, some moron loses his hard drive with 1000 btc, someone gets hacked and loses 10 btc from their computer, people complaina bout centralization, people complain about decentralization.

winklevii do some bs and repeat.
